The only thing I didnât like about our stay is that I couldnât stay longer. This is a truly special place. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The bath was very large and had amazing water pressure. The beds were comfortable and there were televisions in each room. The location was perfect. It was quite with wild life around to view from the windows or beautiful garden. There were so many special little touches provided. There were chairs and even blankets to keep warm with in the garden. Several brochures about the local area, a kettle with cups and saucers, games, movies, books, and so much more were all there for our personal use as well. The owner was kind and answered any questions we had. If I ever come to the area again, I would definitely come back and stay longer!
Our stay at Olivias property was lovely, itâs a beautiful farm house with a cottage at the back for guests. The surrounding areas are beautiful and there is lots to do near by. The cottage is decorated beautifully, the bathroom is especially lovely.. The only negatives are that we stayed for 5 nights and with no washing up facilities I wouldnât stay for that long again, it would be perfect for one or two nights. Also the local pub isnât really in walking distance unless itâs a warm sunny day, itâs along a main road and around a half an hour walk, we are in our 20s and love a walk but walking back at night wasnât fun. There is a local pub called the Globe which is a short drive, itâs so lovely, staff are really friendly and there is a beautiful beer garden would definitely recommend! Over all our stay was nice :)
A peaceful setting on the edge of the Forest of Dean
We stayed for two nights and wish we had booked for longer. The property is in an extremely peaceful and relaxed neighbourhood and is ideally located for country walks. We will definitely be coming back!
This is a beautiful annexe to the main house, yet you have your privacy. The property is of high standard in decor and the guest garden is just perfect to sit and watch whats going on in the valley. We were lucky enough to see deer at dusk and rabbits at dawn, as well as pheasant and birds of prey. There is a lovely pub called the George about a 20 minute walk away and it is extremely friendly. I would advise taking cereal and snack as the only cooking facility in the apartment is a microwave and a toaster, which is fine. We celebrated my wifes birthday here as she has not stopped working through covid as a carer, so she needed to relax. It was absolutely perfect!!
Lovely accommodation in a peaceful setting and ideally situated for exploring the locall area. Wowed by the bathroom and especially the shower! Nice, clean and comfortable.
considering we booked at short notice the rental property was all ready for us, its location was perfect for our visits to the forest of dean area, nice and quiet location, bed and pillows were the softest we ever slept on, perfect nights sleep is guaranteed, would definitely book another stay here without hesitation
We originally booked a hotel in Tintern for our first visit to the Wye Valley, then changed our minds to a self catering alternative and so glad we did. This little annexe is just beautiful and so peaceful, a great base to explore the area. The mill has been tastefully restored and the holiday accommodation is very pretty and comfortable with lots of homely touches. Definitely recommend and will return another time when we need some rest and relaxation from our busy jobs. Just what the doctor ordered!
A short break and much needed rest for my wife and I. Lovely accommodation and everything you needed. Very comfortable beds, great shower and very peaceful and lovely property.
Close to all the obvious sight seeing places, it really was a lovely stay and great communication with the owner Olivia. You couldn't be disappointed.
Lovely rooms with nice linens and set-ups for tea/breakfast or whatever suits you.
My husband and I wanted a quiet place to relax for 1 night after a time in London and this was just right for us. It was pretty remote but we like driving and sightseeing so that was no problem. We walked down to the village for a delicious dinner and chatted with all number of people. Of course, this was after Trump and Brexit so there were lots of opinions shared. Interesting history of the area made for a nice visit, as well as the horses on the property since I have horses. Never saw Olivia but am sure she would be of help if needed. Sorry to have only 1day to spend in the area.
Excellant accomodation and perfect location for our family visit
A lovely place to stay which suited our purpose perfectly!
The cottage has all that is required for a short stay and is well equipped.
It was spotlessly clean with a good sized shower / bathroom area and comfortable king-size bed.
There was a 2nd single bedroom that we didn't use but this was also very nice.
Towels and bedding provided was very good.
Whilst we know the area and were visiting family the cottage is well located for exploring the area and near to a few eating pubs and Chepstow.
Myself, my husband and our four year old had a really lovely weekend at this property. Although part of the owners overall property, the unit was self contained with parking space and own entrance. The property was spacious, clean and charming. My son was thrilled with the toys left out for his use. There is a small fridge which was very useful. In the surrounding area there are lots of lovely places to eat or to get a takeaway and eat at the property. The owners animals contribute to the enjoyment of this property. The horses, cats and dog have a wonderful place to live and it was great meeting them. We had a visit early one morning from the black cat! The bathroom has a wonderful walk-in shower. We only have one small complaint and that is the bed in the main bedroom is creaky and not so comfortable, i would of given the property five stars if it weren't for this. However i would highly recommend this property and it is extremely good value for money.
The property is clean and comfortable and is well placed for visiting the attractions in the area. I would recommend it to anyone wishing to take a short break in the Forest of Dean.
The setting was perfect for what I needed, some rest and relaxation to get away for a while. The cottage was quiet and peaceful and the outlook onto the hills made for a beautful view. The welcome with tea and coffee provided for me,was a welcome surprise and it meant I only had to buy milk, which was within easy reach with Tescos a short drive away.
The rooms took on a charm of their own, with beautiful beams and I slept soundly.
A lovely bathroom with a powerful shower so no mod cons spared.
A lovely base to explore the beautiful countryside or just to relax and chill.
Set in a beautiful location and decorated to a high standard. Two large bedrooms and spacious bathroom with separate large walk in shower. This property would make an ideal retreat for a couple looking for a short break interested in eating out as there is only a microwave (located in smaller bedroom) and fridge (located in main bedroom).
Owner is extremely helpful and had contract throughout booking procedure. It is obvious she is very proud of her house which is reflected in the high standard of the rooms.
We would say that this property is not really suitable for a family with small children who wish to self cater as there is no kitchen or lounge.
The property was well presented and clean. Nice views from sitting / bedroom there is plenty of literature to read through, also some DVDs and games. The shower was excellent, there is a lovely walk to the village where there are two lovely pubs, although there were lots of maps non of them were local which would of been a help, we felt the main bedroom/ sitting room could accomadate a small sofa if the amount of furniture was reviewed, the mattress on the double could do with been replaced, also we would of liked the use of a toaster which should of been provided. Generally the property was lovely and in a good location.
