3 nights stay, family of 4, girls ages 11&15, comfortable sharing double bed, cozy secondary suite connected to main home with separate entrance, shared driveway with owners, no issues with privacy, 2 couches and dining room table good space for hanging out, fully functional kitchen met our needs, nice of host to have 4 bottles of water and tray of ice ready in fridge as well as bags of chips on table upon arrival, 2 bedrooms-bathroom-washer and dryer-exit to pool on 2nd floor, there was a door off the dining room to a patio with access to pool from 1st floor but unable to open it (didnât text host as exiting from 2nd floor wasnât a huge deal as our stay was short), large pool was a highlight, host recommended local establishments for groceries, dining and things to do, Gracieâs on West Main is a must do for breakfast-recommend deluxe bacon sampler!, noted dim string of solar lights above fire pit but didnât find outdoor lighting for pool/fire pit area, limited the ability for evening swimming and did not attempt fire pit, overall pleasant stay
This small home is clearly great as we keep coming back. We had a girls weekend where we enjoyed crafting and swimming. The space is set up well for several people to be comfortable and the pool is a huge asset. Lisa is easily reachable if thereâs a question. In fact, she was out of the country while we were there and still completely responsive. Weâll be back!
Our stay was great! Plenty of room for our family of 5 & the location was perfect! We were able to utilize the pool on our first evening there, unfortunately the weather was rainy & chilly the rest of our stay.. but the pool was clear & clean. The house was stocked with everything we needed & very clean! We came over from southern Ohio for the Chester Co Balloon Festival and we wanted a place that was not in all the hustle & bustle.. this place was perfect! I would recommend it to anyone!
Great location, Awesome home with great amenities, and terrific yard space/pool! Owner provided great communication and assured we were covered well. Thank you very much!
We booked this property for the whole month of October. From the start, Lisa was great at communicating and was very responsive to answer any questions we had before our stay. We traveled with our toddler, and she even asked if we needed her to put out a high chair and pack ân play to accomodate our daughter which was also helpful.
Check-in was simple. She gave us the code for the lockbox and the house itself upon entering was even better than the photos showed. Beautiful, very clean and neat and also welcoming.
We were curious about the kitchen because we noticed no photos were listed, and previous reviews mentioned that it was small. We found it had everything we needed to make preparing and cooking meals easy and the large pantry had all kinds of appliances and pots, etc. The smaller size of the kitchen wasnât a big deal for us since it had everything we needed.
The outdoor space was great, and we enjoyed sitting out there throughout the day. It was very peaceful and very appreciated. There was a specific flowery bush out there that attracted the butterflies and honeybees that our toddler loved watching. Chipmunks were also frequently seen from the window while we ate meals at the dining room table. (No comments for the pool since it was closed for the season but looks like a great time when it can be used.)
The bedrooms were clean and the beds very comfortable to sleep in. We always had a good nights sleep. Occasionally we would hear the sound of the Amish horses cli
This cottage was located with in a quiet neighborhood. The owner Lisa was super amazing. My husband and I accidentally locked ourselves out of the cottage at 8:30 at night. We had went outside to sit on the porch didnât realize that although the door handle opened from the inside but was actually locked from the outside. Thank God Lisa our host was home. She was able to come through her home to the cottage and let us in.
Overall had a great time. The host was very responsive and communicative. The house, pool, and outdoor areas were well maintained. The area was safe, beautiful, and just a quick drive to the historic downtown area.
Lisa the host was so pleasant and quick to respond. The home itself was cozy, the upper and lower patio decks along with the pergola and outdoor fire pit was so enjoyable! And of course the pool was just sooooo much fun!!
Looking forward to returning soon!
We have been coming to this same hideaway for years now and we love it every time. It's in the country but close to activity. It's well-appointed and clean. It has a lovely, relaxing pool! And I believe Lisa and Francois have been on vacation themselves the last three times we've been there and yet they are prompt to respond to any questions. It's well worth a visit!
Our trip to Lancaster was super, due to this property. It was located in a beautiful neighborhood, quaint, with plenty of space for our family of 5. We utilized the outdoor fire pit for s'mores and night time bonding. The pool is large and clean with pool toys and plenty of seating. We enjoyed the antiquity coupled with modern touches. We saw the nearby Sight & Sound production of "Daniel", visited Hershey Park, and mini-golfed (and ice cream) in the local Bird-in-Hand. An added bonus was that we stopped by a local Amish food stand and enjoyed their BBQ chicken dinner, complete with homemade whoopie pies. Our hosts were helpful and accommodating, very kind. You will enjoy your time here.
Worked for us because we looked closely at photos which show the positives and negatives.
- Large group room.
- Great location, parking and access to 2 covered bridges
- Lovely fireplace (pool in summer) and the place was decorated for Christmas
- Small kitchen
- One bathroom on second floor
We absolutely loved this home and the beautiful neighborhood it was located in. We enjoyed the fireplace and the beautiful fall foliage. The beds were very comfortable, the view was amazing, and the kitchen was well stocked. We hope to stay here again next year.
A few things not up to my standards.
The guesthouse is connected to their home which was slightly off putting though this did not impact the stay or the trip as we were gone most of the time.
A dirty towel was hanging on the back of one of the bedroom doors when we arrived, Keurig did not function, & the shower did not have much pressure as it would still pour out of the tub faucet.
If I was back in the area I would find a different spot to stay.
Overall it was a quaint little spot to stay and I appreciated the hosts response time and hospitality.
First and foremost, our host was great. She was inviting and available to our questions, needs and requests. We had to run out for a few household items and cleaning supplies, but overall it, the house was stocked with the necessities. The lodging was comfortable and the area peaceful. We are looking forward to our next stay.
This property is gorgeous and accommodated our family of 4 perfectly. The kids loved the saltwater pool and never wanted to get out of it.
Our only issue was the water pressure in the upstairs bathroom was a little off. but it didnât really impact our overall enjoyment of this wonderful property.
Iâd highly recommend this vrbo to anyone.
My husband and our two children enjoyed our time at this beautiful guesthouse! The kids loved the pool and there was lots of fun activities close by. Lisa informed us of different things the kids may enjoy and we checked out the railroad, the science factory and made a 40 minute drive to Hershey too! Lisa quickly responded to any questions we had during our stay. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area!
Love this property! It is tidy and cozy and we have stayed here multiple times in both winter and summer and will continue to do so. Lisa and Francois are very pleasant (but not nosy!) and very helpful if there are ever any issues. And the pool is a BIG plus! You feel like you're out in the country but in reality you're only 5 to 10 minutes away from a ton of activities and restaurants. Go and enjoy yourselves!
My French husband and myself decided to move into this neighborhood after becoming pregnant with twin boys in 2010. I grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and relocated to Lancaster for work 16 years ago. I met my husband in St. Martin seven years ago and after one year he decided to join me here. We got married in Toledo, Spain alongside family and friends. We love the activity of Lancaster because there is room for both all the activity you could hope to enjoy or the solitude of quiet neighborhoods.
We decided to move to this home because we absolutely loved the style and care the previous owners put into building this property. We enjoy the large space that the home is situated on and also our well established neighborhood.
We fell in love with this home because of the quaintness and also the spaciousness that it offers. The three fireplaces throughout the house really caught our eye as well as the back decks and gorgeous in-ground pool. The vegetation, and large trees as well make us feel like we are surrounded by nature at all times. It is the perfect choice for us to raise twin boys.
