This Italian Villa has a perfect location for a great getaway. Its serene location on a lake and large lot at the end of a quiet lane makes for a very peaceful holiday. Well located between the beaches of Sabaudia and San Felice Ciscero a quick trip to the beach is just minutes away all in all a perfect location with a great host.
Great find for a 2 night stay off the beaten path for 4 adults and 5 children ranging from ages 3-12. Clean property. Easy check in/out. Owner/property manager was friendly and welcoming. Reminded us of a rustic villa you might find in Hawaii or parts of Southern California. All the rooms except 1 had AC, which was great.
The best part, however, was the proximity to a 6KM beach only 5 minutes away. Cheap public parking (1 Euro per hour) and soft sandy beach with large sections of free access. Felt very relaxed and almost Bohemian. Definitely a destination for Rome locals looking to escape the heat and chaos of the city to unwind. The towns of Sabaudia and San Felice Cicero were super cute and convenient as well. Only spend 2 nights as a convenient stopping point on our way back from Amalfi to Rome, but could have easily stayed much longer. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.
Italian Garden and Lake Paradise for Group Holidays
If you are looking for the ideal spot to experience an Italian home away from home, this is the place. Our holiday included 10 people from Colorado, USA. The grounds were immaculately maintained by the resident caretaker, appropriately named Santa. Both he and the owner (Paola) made certain we had everything we needed, including rental bikes to get to the beach, kayaks for lake excursions and firewood for evening barbecues. Every bedroom has a modern private bath with linens. The top bedroom upstairs has three twin beds that are perfect for elementary age children/teens. The kitchen was equipped with all the necessary items we needed to feed our crew.
The national park of Circeo is an ideal place for hiking, boating, fishing and relaxing on the beach. The nearby town of Circeo has charming restaurants and great shopping. Sabaudia is the perfect small town for groceries, wine and other daily needs. We were within a half hour drive of the train (Priverno Fossanova) for day trips to Rome and an hour drive from the small "Roman Riviera" towns of Gaeta, Formia and Sperlonga. You will need a car, especially for trips to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. If you go, this is what you will need to ask for: extra towels and linens because the weather is humid; bike rentals (ask the owner) and boat rentals and local tours (Giovanni at WaterlifeSaubadia@gmail.com).
If you are looking for the type of vacation that gives you a taste of real life in Italy (not the tourist version), don't hesitate to book this home for a group holiday, small wedding or milestone event.
