Villa de lavande située dans un magnifique parc près de la piscine

Villa spacieuse et bien équipée avec coin repas extérieur avec barbecue au gaz qui surplombe la piscine illuminée la nuit. Les chambres sont climatisées et la salle de bain a une très grande douche. À 15 mètres de la villa se trouve notre très grande piscine de 165 mètres carrés, plus grande que la plupart des hôtels. La cuisine est équipée avec machine à laver et lave-vaisselle. Notre objectif est de fournir une expérience de jardin verdoyant en Crète avec l'aide de notre puits pour l'eau.

Great stay at Crete Retreat

We stayed for 6 days in September, enjoyed the pool after long days out in the heat. Felt like you were out in the country, but only 10 minutes to town, easy access to the highway. We stayed in Lavender Villa, very clean and well equipped with everything. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great stay 😀 highway.

We wanted a lazy, get away from it all, relaxing break. This certainly ticked those boxes. Rob was a great host with good communication throughout our stay. He even told us about a local car hire company who delivered the car to the property. The Souda resort isn’t touristy so only has a couple of restaurants. You would need a car to explore. Chania is a lovely town with plenty of restaurants and tourist shops!! It’s a 20 minute bus ride away. Overall a very pleasant holiday.

A little slice of heaven

The owners really care about the property. The lavender villa was perfect for our needs! The property is perfectly located for day trips to different beaches and only 15 minutes to the old town in Chania. We absolutely loved our stay! The property in surrounded by olive trees and the massive pool is great to unwind in after a long day.

Fabulous!

We had an amazing 10 days at Crete Retreat. Our boys LOVED the pool and the animals! Easy driving distance to lovely beaches, Chania and everything you need. Rachel & Rob are great - friendly, really helpful and they couldn't do enough for us. Overall a really beautiful, family run retreat. I could definitely have stayed longer 😁 Highly recommend ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️ Xxxx

Ideal stay near Chania

The villa is part of a 3-villa retreat. Our villa was with 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, as pictured. The highlight of course was the large pool which we enjoyed. There is also a small barbecue and dining table for 4 on the deck with was great! The retreat is located in a garden like environment. Overall, the location was very quiet. Also a great location to explore this side of Crete, about 15 minutes from Chania and 20 minutes from the airport. Renting a car is a must for this location and I would say to reallly visit the island. Check in and check out was very easy and communication with the property manager was very easy. Overall the oils highly recommend.

Property is set in beautiful gardens which are maintained daily.Rob, Rachel and Winnie are fantastic hosts they make you feel very welcome from when you step into their hidden paradise. Pool is excellent- good amount of sun beds.We are very fit and we could walk to local shop and bus stops, ideal local beach 1.5 miles away, however a car would be required if physically impaired.The property is ‘rustic’ not a recent build and I feel it is difficult for family to maintain, however we were not disappointed. All amenities within in good working order, dishes cups and glasses plentiful we did cook a number of times without any difficulty.It’s rural location results in lot of dog barking at night, ear plugs good option. The family dogs and cats are adorable.Would highly recommend a stay at Crete Retreat when visiting Chania as it is a busy harbour area and it’s a pleasure to escape the hustle and bustle with a 2 euro bus ride back to the countryside.

A piece of paradise

We really enjoyed our stay at Crete Retreat, with our 2 sons (aged 13 and 8) and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. We stayed in Lavender villa which was rustic and quirky, with a well stocked kitchen, bbq on the veranda and a/c in the bedrooms. The pool was just perfect and very clean. The gardens were stunning - the love and attention which has been put in was clear to see. The hosts were friendly, helpful and laid back and provided a really helpful welcome pack. We enjoyed the homemade gin which was available via an honesty box on site and relaxed under the gazebo and in the hanging chairs in the trees. There were even family garden games to play aswell as a designated parking space. Renting a car is a must - the villa is ideally placed for quick car rides to Chania, Kalami beach and Kournas lake, with a large Synka supermarket within a 5 minute drive - perfect!

Our stay as a family of 4

Property was a short drive from the airport, Robert greeted us on arrival as he knew our flight times due to communicating prior. My little boy, who is 7, absolutely loved the freedom of the resort, bug hunting, the pool and of course enjoyed the company of the owners. We hired a car for the week to get around, the hire company even dropped it off the following morning to the resort which is far less hassel than collecting at the airport post late night flight. The gardens are absolutely stunning, well cared for and tranquil. Small shops within walking distance. Robert gave us a great insight to local places to visit and eat if need be including a butcher for the BBQ.The lavender villa was spacious and cool. Fresh produce was available in a small onsite shack, eggs, wine and some handmade earrings- which I did purchase to remind me of our family visit to Crete. Winnie the daughter is such a lovely girl and had a lot of time to chat with us all, showing my youngest all the wildlife including a praying mantis to hold! In fact this family owned accommodation was just perfect.

fantastic

my son (11y) and me and then the whole family, we had a fantastic time in this marvellous place, as a home bace. Its excellent to come down, to be, to enjoy the holiday, its an excellent base to start for trips in the countryside, to explore both; sea and beaches and the mountains....of course- the pool is extraordinary- swimming as the first and the last action of the day- with the crete sound of cicadas during the day and a romantic illumination during night time- and the landlords- rob, his wife and ian... as the best....provide frish eggs, vegies from their garden, give excellent tips, always frienly and they have lovely dogs... my son loved them... ;) what can we say.... a dream...

Extérieurs très agréables,décoration intérieure simple avec beaucoup de fonctionnalité dans la cuisine…..Très bonne situation géographique pour découvrir l’Ouest de la Crète,très calme …seul bémol pas de volets aux fenêtres et literie assez moyenne….Sinon nos hôtes étaient charmants et toujours prêts à nous aider…je recommande cet endroit

Cadre idyllique pour se ressourcer

Idéalement placé pour visiter la région de la Canée. Le cadre verdoyant et la grande piscine font de ce lieu une adresse unique qui aime les environnements reposants. Les gérants sont très accueillants et aux petits soins pour répondre à vos questions et vous rendre le séjour le plus agréable possible. L'environnement est très verdoyant et la grande piscine (ramené au nombre d'occupants) font de ce lieu un endroit unique.

A wonderful return visit to Crete Retreat

I only gave 4 stars for the accuracy of the online listing as it was better than as described on VRBO website!THere has been some updating of the property since we last stayed .The description did not say there was a full oven and a Smart Tv to use for netflix and amazon prime if you wish to use it. Also more of a sitting area inside, as well as out on the decking, with shelter from the sun. We really enjoyed our stay in this peaceful place. Ian , Rob and Rachel gave a warm welcome and were as helpful as could possibly be.The garden is a lovely peaceful place, the pool is a very good size, In October cooling down a bit but we did swim twice daily even so!Lots of places to visit, Lidl a 10 minute drive away and more local shops, lots to see and do in the area, we really didn't want to come home as our holiday was just what we needed. THankyou Ian Rob and Rachel.

Great holiday

Our trip to Hania was amazing. Rob and Rachel were so kind to us and helpfull with everything. The villa was just perfect for four people and the pool was superb! We really loved our holiday in the paradise in the middle of olive trees.

Klasse, ruhige, kleine Anlage mit Vermieter auf dem Areal wohnend. Sehr familiär, locker und unkompliziert. Alles in Eigenleistung geschaffen, daher nicht perfekt aber dafür mit Charme. Jederzeit wieder und sehr zu empfehlen.

The pool area at the villa was amazing, the villa itself was very basic. Nice quiet location where you could easily get into Chania town by bus which took 5-10 minutes

Amazing pool and setting

We stayed 2 weeks and were really satisfied regarding price value. The most amazing is the pool with a total size, which we shared with another family 1 week, and only for us afterwards. If you like dogs, there are a few very handsome ones (from Ian), which are kid friendly! The house was OK, a bit used all in all. Might need a bit of painting and small fixings. Ian was very nice and easy to communicate with. And had nice stories why the pool is so big and hope he got the dogs...

Stupenda esperienza in Creta.

L'appartamento è situato in una posizione ottima, a pochi km dalla città ma allo stesso tempo in una zona tranquilla e in natura. L'accoglienza del proprietario è stata ottima, molto gentile e disponibile. Tanta natura, piscina comoda e ben tenuta. La casetta è rustica e ha tutte le comodità necessarie per una bella vacanza nella splendida Creta. Consigliato a chi ama la natura e la tranquillità!

Wunderschöne Villa in super Lage

Wunderschöne Villa in super Lage. Sehr sauber und geräumig. Ian ist sehr nett und gastfreundlich. Die Poollandschaft ist für Groß und Klein ein Traum. Des Weiteren leben dort zwei Katzen und mehrere Hunde, die uns den Urlaub als Tierliebhaber versüßt haben. Immer wieder!

Eighteen years ago we finally realized our long held dream and set off from England to our new life on the warm and sunny island of Crete. We had already purchased a plot of land with a house and one acre of orange trees and olive trees.

In the time honoured fashion of the island it took over a year to overcome the paperwork and legalities connected with our purchase but then we were able to start our huge project.

The gardens and villas slowly took shape, each year bringing exciting changes as the trees and plants matured. The result is now three villas set in beautiful gardens. Having been to Greece on previous occasions we wanted to make the accommodation spacious. A large bathroom was a must and raised sun terraces were top priority. We wanted to create individual privacy without being isolated and a pool that you could really swim in.

Crete Retreat is a unique and huge landscaped garden with mature shady trees, green lawns, exotic plants and an extra large 24/7 swimming pool.
A perfect environment for people who wish to enjoy Crete, the fresh air, the sun, the shade, the food, the wine all made complete with a large barbeque for a perfect evening meal.
Our pet cats and dogs live together in harmony, a memorable experience especially for children.
Here, Mums and Dads have a great opportunity to relax together or find space, peace and quiet knowing that their family are in a safe enclosed environment.
Our location makes it easy to explore the important historical sites dotted around, try Aptera, ten minutes along the motorway, which is an ancient Roman settlement covering several acres. We are also positioned on 42nd street, the site of the battle of Crete which is marked by a plaque and information.
