Excellent location. Only a few steps to the beach and 5 - 15 minute drive to ANYTHING you want to do. Booked a fishing trip and ate most of our stay on our catch!
The house was in a great location, we had a little issue with ants , but as soon as I contacted the owner he had someone come out and spray . Well stocked with cookware and even had items to use at the beach .
The house needs a deep cleaning, but was ok to stay in. Dust on everything, the rug in living room was very dirty, mildew all over exterior doors but the bathrooms and bedrooms seemed clean. It is very small on the inside- appears much larger in the pictures. The loft area is only accessible from the master bedroom which is great if you have small kids, not so great if you have teenagers. The outside deck serves the purpose but quite a few of the chairs are very wobbly and we were a bit unsure of sitting in them. The location was great though. Our beach area wasnât crowded even on the 4th of July and there was ample parking. Overall the house is good. Just needs some things cleaned and updated. The owner was very easy to get in touch with and quickly sent over a broom and light bulbs (lots of lights were out and no broom to sweep up the sand) when I texted her.
2nd stay here and as before, did not disappoint! Aside from a couple minor hiccups like a missing TV remote, and water leak the day prior to leaving, the stay was fabulous! Will be back!
The unit is as described - 3 bedrooms with 2 baths. (The loft overlooks the master bedroom and the stairs to access it are extremely steep.)Kitchen is supplied with basics. The location is perfect and just at the bottom of the stairs is sand : )The cleanliness of the property was VERY LACKING. There are switches on the walls that donât do anything. There was no outside lighting on the âBâ side under the home or outside the door which can make for a treacherous stair climb. The ceiling fan didnât work in downstairs bedroom. Someone needs to put lightbulbs in the fixtures - NONE of the fixtures have all the bulbs needed. The downstairs bathroom has a leak from the toilet. Overall - it fit the bill for a vacation but would not stay at this property again.
The beach house location was very nice and not crowded with people. Restaurants and souvenir shops were right down the road and things to do was a short drive. The owner was excellent in communicating with us and accommodating our needs while at the beach house. While there, the refrigerator decided to retire and the owner had it replaced immediately with a new one. I highly recommend staying here and we will return for another vacation stay
This was my familyâs first time staying in Gulf Shores and we really enjoyed it! The duplex met all of our needs with plenty of room for everyone! We had the beach to ourselves at times and when there were other people we werenât crowded together like when renting a condo. The duplex is also conveniently located to the town with shops and restaurants. The owner was easily accessible to answer any questions when needed. We would definitely recommend this duplex and Gulf Shores as a great place to vacation!
There was black dog hair on the floor and den rug. The den rug was stained and dirty. The windows needed cleaning. There were not enough towels and washcloths. The yards were trashy and littered. There was standing water in the driveway. It was too expensive of a rent for the accommodations. The carport areas needed sweeping and the washing machine had mildew around rim. Also, there were missing light bulbs in all of the bathrooms.
After a few hiccups on my part, and a super accommodating and quick to respond owner, our much needed vacation began. My first full family getaway. The location could not be more perfect!! Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of visitors, but close enough for a quick drive or long stroll. The public access is pretty far from here so there was always a private beach. The house is decorated nicely with a fun beach feel and rooms are spacious. The beds...omg. I slept in master bed and i dont think ive slept that well in years! The bedding was top notch. The beach is impeccable.
Clean, soft white sand, and we snorkeled every day as water was super clear. The path to get to beach, i noticed, this location is the only house with a clear walkway between dunes which made a lovely backdrop for family photos with the sunset.
I highly recommend this location for all!
The only thing that I might add....is maybe a share box. We had to buy everything from beach toys, kitchen supplies like zip locks, etc. it would be nice to maybe have a share box to leave those behind for others to use and pay it forward if you will. But just a suggestion :)
overall, Amazing! especially from the business end. March was super nice, quick to communicate, and saved the day!!!
Thank you!!
This location made our trip fun for the entire family! We could spend the day on the beach without having to pack up the entire house. It was comfortable for 2 families that included young children, a young adult, parents, and grandparent. A few things may need to be updated, but we didn't have any major issues. Property owner was super responsive before and during the trip. The location is away from the busy part of the beach, but close enough for a quick drive to great restaurants and activities. Overall it was a great place for a family vacation.
Right on the beach!
Quiet and peaceful, away from all the huge hotels and condos!
March, the owner was most helpful and easy to communicate with.
Roomy enough for four, with space for more!
Perfect for our family. We have beach bums , shoppers, jet skiers and fishermen. This house is the perfect location for all these activities. The house was beautiful with enough room for the adults and kids. Clean, and comfy. Great views, great sand, great house, great location. Property manager was quick to respond when we had questions. Highly recommend.
Excellent location, right on the beach. Great for a small family. Awesome views, dolphins every morning. Kitchen is small, but you should know that based on the pictures. The upstairs loft in the master bedroom has steep stairs, so be careful if you have little ones. Our 3 year old was able to manage. There is plenty of beach equipment (chairs, rug, sand toys, body boards, etc). We brought our beach wagon and lugged everything down to the beach in the morning. Luckily the gigantic house next door was not rented during our stay so it was very peaceful.
If you have dogs, beware of the prickers. We already knew this from the last time we visited gulf shores. You just need to check their paws frequently and remove them (bring tweezers).
The owner was VERY responsive. She answered our texts within minutes and was super nice.
Only issue were other renters from across the street trying to cut through the property to access the beach (instead of walking a half block down to the access).
Overall, great place and would definitely rent again.
We truly enjoyed our stay at the property! The kitchen IS tiny, but we managed. The house was as clean as you would expect any VRBO to be during high season. The furniture in the house is stained, but it is a rental property and thatâs to be expected. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. The bathrooms are fine, but the shower curtains need to be changed out more often. The door to the bathroom in the master needs some work. It is incredibly difficult to open and close and very noisy. Tough to let others sleep while trying to get in and out. The deck was awesome and had plenty of seating. The grills do need a VERY thorough cleaning though. The one is absolutely disgusting. The host was easy to get ahold of and very responsive. Wi-Fi was an issue and we had to use the neighborâs. If you are planning to work and need a fast connection this maybe an issue. Our biggest struggles through our week was the lack of a good vacuum! The Dyson on the wall does not workâŠit could not even suck up a ping pong ball! The brooms were cheap plastic brooms that do not sweep the sand very well. Something to pick up sand is a huge need for this property. The other issue is the size of the garbage can. A standard size trash can is really needed.
Overall we would stay here again and would suggest this property to others.
We had a great time. The property was just as described, great beach location. The owner was great and let us check in early. The only complaint I could say we had was that the light leading up the main staircase was burnt out and was hard to see in the dark, but nothing major. Would definitely stay again. The deck with the black stone grill and table was an added bonus!
This is our 8th year to Gulf Shores. We love to be on West Beach past the high rises and enjoy the quieter and less crowded beaches. This duplex is the perfect location to enjoy lots of time on the beautiful beach. We enjoyed the patio tremendously and the nice charcoal grill.
The inside of the condo could use some work and deep clean. I know peak season is hard to keep up with so always lots or grace. The condo is really dusty. Some of the furniture and pillows are in pretty bad repair (ripped, stained, etc). There is just a lot of random stuff shoved in closets, sometimes making them hard to stay closed. If you plan to cook; the kitchen is super tiny and definitely only room for one person. The ceiling fan in one bedroom was in disrepair so unable to use that for the duration of the trip. There was not a working vaccuum cleaner there. There were two but neither had enough suction to pick anything up. Not a huge deal for us as we always bring a robot vaccuum with us on beach trips and it didnât take long to sweep when we needed more.
We come for 2 weeks so we do have to work some on vacation. The internet was almost non-existent. We did message the owner about it twice but did not get a resolution. We finally connected to the WiFi for the duplex next door (same owner, she offered password) and it was MUCH better. We did have a plumbing issue and the owner had someone out the next morning which was exceptional.
Overall we had an amazing experience. You just canât beat two weeks at the beach. A little updating and cleaning would have made this a truly exceptional stay.
A new law has passed and you can no longer leave your chairs, etc on the beach overnight. During spring break, no alcohol is allowed on the beach either! Leave Only Footprints when you visit the beautiful beaches of #GulfShores and #OrangeBeach!
