We loved staying here, good neighborhood while still being close to downtown. The owners were great and very helpful. Told us about some sites to see and food to eat. I would stay there again.
Everything was perfect and shown as listed! Very clean and nice for a small family trip to stay. Also has a nice patio with a fenced in yard for your fur baby. Itâs perfect for when you want to stay out of French quarter but close enough for you to go!
We are originally from St. Bernard Parish and rented this location for a family funeral. We traveled with our son and his family and our Pomeranians. Perfect location to visit NOLA as well as friends on the Northshore and Picayune,MS. Kitchen was well stocked and the fenced yard was a big plus for our pups. Planning on renting in the future for return trips home.
Nice, quiet out of the way spot. Easy access/driving to Bourbon St. perfect place to rest.
Enjoyed our visit to LA! Went to a concert and toured Bourbon St. area, plantations and WWII museum. Property was a perfect place to rest after busy days.
Nice location, very easy to get in and out. Mike was very helpful in sharing knowledge of some local places to eat and enjoy our time in New Orleans. Will stay here again if we come back.
We were in the patio for 3 days and it has cute small rooms. Be aware that the âkitchenâ is actually in the main bedroom closet. Basically itâs the main bedroom, bathroom and a second bedroom/living. We moved from there do to loud neighbors and Michael/Miranda were super responsive and offered us the cottage to stay in.
We moved into the cottage and stayed there the rest of the time and it is a larger bedroom-with bathroom & laundry room in bedroom, full kitchen and living room. Both are well kept and worked great for my mom and I.
Pleasantly surprised. Unit was nice and clean. Decorations were pleasant, beds and furniture were in very good condition. Bathroom/ shower were clean and modern. Plenty of towels to be had (for two). Has microwave, coffee pot and a toaster. Two of us stayed three days and sere very happy. Will book this unit again in the future.
Great place! We only needed a place to shower and sleep⊠so we didnât care about the mini kitchen. Ubers were an easy ride to FQ and JS. Michael was very responsive and helpful. Listen to his restaurant picks! Felt very safe. Comfortable beds. Great shower. It had everything we needed.
It was a cute little apartment but I was planning on having the fridge pictured but it had a small dorm fridge. The walls are paper thin also. It was clean and the patio was very nice.
Michael, owner here was great to work with . He was available and supportive of our inquiries. Property clean , with all necessary things . Would highly recommend Michael and this property!!
It was nice that it a big back fenced in yard but the unit was not what we expected pictures and details on site it is not what you expect very disappointed. I would not stay there again.
We have been to New Orleans many times before but this was the first time staying at this property. But it certainly won't be the last. They are definitely friendly folks, and bend over backwards to accommodate their guests. A great place to stay for any type of traveler. Julien
Property very nice. Rooms clean. Only thing I ready didn't expect. No kitchen. Only toaster, coffee maker & small refrigerator. Other guess had access to kitchen. So if you rent this part of the house , you will need to eat out. Beautiful outdoors. Very Safe. Close to downtown area.
Thank you will book again.
My friend and I stayed here for a 7 day spring break trip. We were not prepared for the neighborhood, although as time went on, we felt safer and comfortable. There is no stove/oven so, if you plan on âcookingâ, youâll need to do sandwiches or microwave things.
There are two bedrooms and a bathroom, thatâs it. Bringing kids here might not work if they are energetic. The patio/yard is a shared area, and very nice.
Michael, the manager (owner?) was VERY kind and accommodating. The small area we stayed in is footed off from the rest of the house, where others can stay. We had a concern with the people staying in the other section and Michael was ON it. He is obviously seasoned and was really helpful!
Iâd stay here again, although Iâd plan differently in general.
Pros: The property was very nice, felt safe, nice and cool in the unit, itâs far enough away from everything for a quiet (area) but a less than 20 minute drive to get to things along with convenient food and shopping near by. The owner was great the one time we spoke about check out.
Cons: The tub and sink drained a little slow while using, not to big of an issue though. The other thing, I encourage the owner to post a nice message for other occupants to lower their voices if possible, it is attached to another section via a locked door and let me tell you we heard EVERY word of the neighbors but it seemed they just talked really loud to each other. I turned the tv up and closed the door for a slight relief, so if youâre lucky and get quiet neighbors at the same time you are there, youâre in a great place with little to no issues.
Overall our experience was good; however there are some major details that I'd like to share along with some suggestions for the host.
1- Location
The property is located in the poorest neighborhood in all of New Orleans - the ninth ward. We had all of our Uber drivers ask us what we as tourists are doing in the neighbourhood at 10-11pm at night.
2- Safety
The front door to our suite (the back suite) opened into our bedroom. A suggestion for the host is to install a security latch, similar to a hotel so guests can sleep peacefully at night.
3- Fridge/kitchen
The coffee maker was not cleaned after the previous guest. Not a big deal, we washed it out. It would be very helpful if a kettle was provided to boil some water.
4- Bed/mattress
The mattress/bed frame combo was terrible. The wooden bedframe kept squeaking each time you turned. The mattress was more soft than we personally liked.
5- Transportation
Given the neighbourhood, public transit is not an option, especially late at night. A typical Uber was $15 each way to French Quarter. Something to factor in when considering the location.
In spite of what some are saying, the property is very safe. You're right across from Nat'l Guard if that helps. The owners communication was EXCELLENT. Always got back to me right away anytime I had any questions/concerns. The property was good. A few things though: You are SHARING the home. Good news is there is a door that locks in between so you will have no interaction with your roommates. Second, you will be sharing parking. It sounded like you have 2 parking spots to yourself but apparently this is shared so if you have 1 cars, you will have to park on the street I guess which I wouldnt recommend as street is narrow. Our side of the home did not have a real kitchen. Just the a small fridge, toaster and microwave. Not a big deal but you should be aware. On our side you also dont have access to the thermostat, so if you are hot/cold you are at the mercy of the neighbor. Speaking of which if your neighbors are loud, you will hear. ever. word. So if that's a concern, beware. Finally, biggest gripe, shower drain drains VERY SLOW so it'll be like you're standing in the shallow end of the pool as you shower. This apparently has been told to the owner before based off past reviews but has yet to fix. Overall, if I knew exactly what I was getting into I would still rent the property but these kinds of issues, could scare off other guests so keep this in mind. Overall tho 4/5 stars
