A very nice place to stay and central to Sarlat, Le Roque-Gageac and Beynac.
The space was very comfortable and peaceful. Hardly any noise from passing cars. Wonderful
If you are coming from the USA understand that in Europe you are required to bring all you food andtoiletries. There is no soap, shampoo, salt, pepper and other items you might expect from a USA rental.
Hopefully Alexandre will add more utensils in the kitchen and lids for the saucepans.
Lots of space in modern house but no provisions provided
All the rooms are large with good a/c and comfortable beds. The walnut groves outside are nice to walk in and to let our dog run around. However as others have said there is nothing in the property such as toilet paper, washing up liquid, dishcloth, salt, pepper, oil so come prepared although Cenac is only a few minutes drive away with a mid sized Carrefour. and good market on Tuesday. The owners run the Auberge le Colombier which is the other side of a barn and far enough away not to be a disturbance. Don't follow satnat as it takes you down a very narrow track to behind the 3 houses and auberge. If coming from Sarlat direction go past where satnav says and take next right off the D703 signed to the Auberge.
My husband and I along with another couple spent two nights at this gite. We had a bit of trouble finding it as the gps directed us to the wrong location. However, the owner stayed in contact with us and walked us step by step to the right place. It is not hard to find at all but donât rely on the gps.
The gite was a wonderful surprise. It was modern and beautifully decorated. It was also very clean. It is very roomy and we had plenty of room for privacy as well as space to sit and visit together.
The setting is in an orchard of walnut trees and was very quiet and relaxing, We were out enjoying nearby sights like Sarlat and the Sunday market at San Ciprien so didnât spend as much time as we would have liked at the apartment but I would recommend it for two or three couples or a family.
The gite was very comfortable and well located in the area. Our only complaint was that there was no toilet paper, laundry detergent, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags or any other amenities in the house. Fortunately we arrived before the Carrefour closed and were able to buy what we needed. It would've been helpful if we'd known in advance so we could've brought the small quantities of some of the things we needed from the USA.
