Love the location of property. So close to the lake. Everything very clean. We had plenty of dishes, glasses and utensils. We loved the deck and huge dining table on the deck. We ate all our meals there. It was perfect for our family.
We were a group of 3 families, 13 people total, and the house accommodated all of us comfortably. The house was clean and had all the supplies we needed. The location so close to the lake is perfect.
The cabin was cozy and very nice, lots of space for the family, even though to enter from downstairs is from outside it was still nice..definitely would stay again
Listing was accurate! Plenty of beds for everyone and the older kids enjoyed staying downstairs and having their own space. I was definitely relaxed in this cabin. Itâs cozy and not fancy at all. Worked great for us since we have toddlers. I didn't feel anxious having to run around behind them at all times. We traveled in the winter time, but definitely would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake access around the corner.
Book marking this cabin would absolutely being returning for another trip. Cabin was clean and very comfortable I took my family of 13. (2 elderly with 3 children) great location plenty to get into with a little research. Property manager was very informative and helpful with all my questions and concerns. My family was so grateful That I booked here but the appreciation goes to kevin.
Things to know,- a lot of places in the surrounding area like gas stations are pet friendly. Great trails near by. My grandfather loved the casinos that were around (chicken ranch resort) lake was beautiful. My trip was 9/27/24-9/30/24
Another wonderful year of vacation with family and friends.
TH has been my happy place for 55 years, and the cabin is just perfect. I feel completely at home there, didn't want to leave!!
First the great news- wonderful location- could not be better- easy walk to Lake...all of 3 houses away.
House accurate as described, but some concerns. All the bedrooms had large captains beds which were comfortable; however, they were so high that it was difficult for kids to get up and down and one of the kids nearly fell off in the middle of the night. If there is anyone with physical limitations they may not be able to get onto bed-
Although there were multiple pull out couches in house, one could not be used as it could not unfold as it hit the bed;
The home could use some TLC; it was not dirty, but appeared that way- the rugs looked worn; the curtains were dark and dank; We had to purchase soap, and dishwasher tablets; we nearly ran out of garbage bags. Clearly stated that towels were not included, but towels and soap would have felt more welcoming-
Even with all the above, we had a great time.
Being able to walk to the lake in a couple minutes is so great with a bunch of little kids--also great for our two remote workers who were able to enjoy lake breaks during their days. The house has plenty of parking, a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Kevin is a super-responsive host and a pleasure to work with!
We had a large group of 13 with multiple families. Kevinâs house worked out great. We loved the deck and upstairs for hanging out. Really appreciated the a/c too! The close proximity to TH Lake was amazing. We have been coming to TH for decades and in the past a trip to the lake was always an event. This year people could come and go as they pleased and it really added to the vacation mindset. We are already looking forward to next summer at this house.
Great lake access from cabin with more plusses than minuses.
One of the main reasons to rent this cabin is the easy walk to Twain Harte Lake, and access via the owner putting you on the list with the folks at the lake entrance kiosk. The kitchen was very well stocked with plates, silverware, mugs, and glasses. plenty for even 18 people. Knives for prepping food were the typical vacation rental quality, dull but functional, not great if you're used to good knives at home. A/C worked very well, both upstairs and downstairs. Bedrooms and beds as pictured. Main beds in each room were great. Hide-a-bed mattress in the upstairs bedroom was very thin and you could easily feel the framing when laying on it. Even the 3 and 5 year old kids noticed it as they slept on it. The bunk beds had plastic covered mattresses, like from a camp or dorm room. Bathrooms were fine, although the bathroom downstairs was a little musty smelling, probably doesn't get enough ventilation. Deck was lovely with lots of umbrellas and furniture. Grill worked great. Having the upstairs and downstairs only accessible by an outside staircase was OK since it was summer. Parking was OK for our three cars. The parking space closest to the street is difficult to access because the driveway is steep as you drive in and the dirt and gravel are loose. Otherwise we parked like the pictures that Kevin sent. We didn't have any extra trash bags, and needed more. I reached out to Kevin on Sunday evening and he had someone bring them by Monday morning! Would definitely rent it again.
Perfect location from lake, Loved the porch outside everyone was able to be outside and play board games together. Its old school cabin, clean but not to clean I had to worry about everyone and everything. Would definitely stay again communication was great. Thanks
The house really is a hop, skip, and a jump from the lake. We were there in-between seasons so the town itself was downright quiet but still had fun in the snow up at Pinecrest Lake and Strawberry. The house fit all our needs with lots of bed options and fully stocked kitchen. (Though note some sofabeds make for a tight fit when fully pulled out, and a full 18 in the house would be pushing it.) Sure, the ambiance and amenities might be considered dated but, hey, it all harkens back to the bygone days of classic Twain Harte. Thanks Kevin!
There were plenty of pets for my whole family, all 15 of us. The place was fully equipped with tons of warm blankets, dishes, TVs for the kids, and even a little stash of toys. It was definitely a little home away from home.
We had a great stay at the house! The location is very good, really just some steps from the lake, and it feels like being in a park. The heating is good, the beds are comfortable, clean, the bathrooms same. The kitchen works, a bit outdated, but ok. 18 people can indeed sleep there, but there are only 2 bathrooms, and we had to manage sitting down together inside. If you are a lot outside, hiking, skiing, it works great. The decks looked really good, but it was rainy and cold, so we could not use them. It is a wonderful house for vacation, we would rent it again,
Itâs located in a nice area for all the seasons year round. There was enough space for everyone, the kids played card games watched movies and played outside. Iâd recommend it!
We had our grandkids and our very well behaved dog.
We all loved walking to the lake and we even walked to the downtown. The kitchen had plenty of beautiful plates and plenty of silver ware. The beds were comfy.
We had a great time!
Location great needs a very deep cleaning and an update
The location of this cabin is awesome. That being said it is like stepping back into the 1970âs. The house it self was very dirty. The carpet, the walls, some of the dishes, and the oven were extremely dirty. There was a hole in the wall in one room, the curtains were inoperable on the rods and the sliding door lock was broken. The microwave was from 1970 and took 8 minutes to boil 4 cups of water. The stove and oven were old but worked adequately. The refrigerator was very small but it worked for us. With a deep cleaning, some paint and some appliance upgrades this could be a dynamite place. I messaged the owner about the condition of the house. He was pleasant but said it was because of the house being rented so often that the house was dirty. It has been quite a while since the house was deep cleaned. We have rented houses in Twain Harte before and are familiar with the area and the houses that are availble.
born and raised in the East Bay, I've been vacationing in Twain Harte with my family for over 20 years as a renter. Finally made the jump to owner and would like to share my wonderful Twain Harte cabin with you.
When I was looking to buy a cabin in Twain Harte, I only wanted one that was walking distance to the lake. This is very convenient, as you can easily walk back to the cabin for lunch or any other reason. I've spent most of the year getting it ready for vacation renters, now it's ready for you to enjoy.
this home sleeps 18 and is a five minute walk to the lake. Twain Harte is a family friendly place where the grandparents to the newborns to everyone in between have been making treasured family memories for decades. This home can accommodate your extended family and friends comfortably and affordably. Bring the whole gang and start making Twain Harte memories of your own.
