We're Lindsay, Adam, Penny, and David. Lindsay is a fifth generation New Orleanian, and Penny and David are sixth generation. Lindsay started The Okra Inn in 2014 and now it's a family business, hosting group stays and individual guests at two locations in Mid-City, New Orleans.

Mid City is the heart of the city! Hop on the streetcar, which is visible from the front porch, and enjoy a short, quaint ride (for $1.25) to the French Quarter anytime, day or night. As well as the Quarter, Mid-City is a good spot to access the rest of New Orleans' memorable neighborhoods such as Uptown, Treme, and the Lakefront.

The Okra Inn Iberville puts you in the middle of one of the city's most walkable neighborhoods. Step onto the front porch and you'll already be within a block of some of our favorite restaurants, bars, and bakeries, including Angelo Brocato's gelateria, Revel, Venezia, Taqueria Guerrero, and the Michelin-starred Zasu. But you'll also be able to see the Canal Street streetcar, which carries you straight to the French Quarter 24 hours a day when you're ready to explore farther.

Inside, you'll find something that's increasingly hard to come by: a historic six-bedroom New Orleans double reserved entirely for your group, with two complete homes side by side. Whether you're bringing together an extended family, a wedding party, longtime friends, or a team gathering for a working retreat, everyone (including pets!) will have room to spread out while still sharing the same trip. Two living rooms let different conversations happen at once. Two kitchens make breakfast easy. One side can host the early risers making coffee while the other sleeps in. Kids can watch a movie in one living room while the adults linger over dinner in the other. And at the end of the day, everyone still comes together on the front porch or back balcony to compare notes from another day in New Orleans.

Your group will enjoy exclusive use of both halves of the property: six bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, two living rooms, two dining rooms, and two fully equipped kitchens. The two homes are connected by the front porch, rear balcony, and back patio, allowing guests to move between the two spaces. With room for up to twelve guests, you're never forced to choose between togetherness and privacy.
