Excellent house for our family of parents, adult children, spouses/partners and our first baby grandchild. Being able to stroll into town is a major attraction.
We had a very good week here. The owners Alain and Marie were welcoming and very helpful . The house itself is spacious, very clean and very well equipped with everything you could possible need . The outdoor area beside the pool is fantastic.. very quiet, with lovely views . The pool is clean and well maintained . The town of Uzes is delightful and we enjoyed the short walk there and back to get fresh bread, enjoy the many cafes and restaurants and explore the old streets and buildings . We had good days out at Montpellier
( where you can use park and tram) , Avignon and the Roman aqueduct at nearby Pont du Gard . There is a very good Intermarche supermarket near to this property . Thank you Alain and Marie for a great holiday .
We enjoyed a lovely week in this great family home. We were a group of eight across three generations and had plenty of room. The terrace and views were beautiful and we enjoyed the breeze through the valley. Although there is not air conditioning in the bedrooms the house is quite cool and most of the rooms had fans. The kitchen is very well equipped with every possible utensil. The house is well located - just a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of the town. We also liked the vineyard at the end of the road, which was very friendly and had some lovely wines. Thank you for a great stay.
like visiting a friend, als ob man einen Freund besucht
It was a amazing stay. This house is wonderful and it feels like you stay at a friends home. There is really everything you need.
We were met at the house by Alain and Marie. Their house is fantastic with plenty of room for everyone. It has a fully kitted kitchen and great outdoor dining area. The children spent hours in the pool. The south east facing aspect means that a pleasant afternoon breeze keeps you cool on those hot summer days.
The house is only a 10 minutes stroll from Uzes town centre which has plenty of cafes, bars, restaurants and a Saturday market which is quite something and should be experienced.
We stayed for a week in mid-May. The house was perfect for our family, numerous bedrooms, a lovely large living room with a beautiful terrace, swimming pool and superb views. The house has a very quiet location, guaranteeing a perfect night sleep, and only a 10 min walk to Uzes town centre . Alain & Marie (hosts) are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend to all of our friends travelling to the area.
Eleven of us - three generations - tested the listing description of this house and found it to be completely accurate! It was cool and spacious and well and interestingly furnished, with the best-equipped kitchen ever. The pool was lovely, as was the terrace, with its beautiful views over the garrigue. The centre of Uzes was indeed only 10 minutes' walk away, so that getting fresh bread & croissants for breakfast, and visiting the fascinating medival centre of the city were both a pleasure - not always the case with very small children in tow. This is an area we know fairly well, and it was very hot, so going far afield was limited to various family members kayaking on the Gardon to the Pont du Gard, visiting the photography biennale in Arles, and mountain biking. Alain & Marie were kind and helpful, and we're very grateful to them for taking the trouble to return a precious blanket left behind by one of our granchildren. So, all in all, I can't recommend the house highly enough for a famly holiday.
Beautiful home within easy walking distance of central Uzes with all its facilities of cafes, restaurants, shops and markets. Very comfortable, well decorated and stylish with fully stocked kitchen, the house is over 3 floors with its entrance on the top floor with games room, moving down to the bedrooms and finally kitchen on the lower floor opening to the pool area and garden - the pictures do not really do it justice! One minor point - don't forget to ask for towels!
Alain and Marie are a lovely couple and very attentive.
Merci beaucoup!
Sean
We are an extended Australian family of 11 aging from 7 to 59 who decided to take the "holiday of a lifetime" in memory of our dear and much loved "Grandma Audrey" who passed away last year.
We had a wonderful holiday as guests in Alain and Marie's holiday home in Uzes which, over the course of our two week stay, became "our home" too.
It is ideally located, an easy 10 minute walk down rock-wall-lined streets to the old town centre of Uzes - an enchanting place of ancient buildings that give glimpses of lives long-gone but a culture that is still so treasured today by the French.
Every morning at 6am Uncle G ventured down to "La Nougatine Boulangerie" to get the most delicious, freshly baked croissants & bread which were gradually consumed over the next couple of hours as the "waves" of family members woke to face the day. Marie had kindly left us a jar of her home-made and delicious apricot jam which was exquisite and had pride of place on the breakfast table.
The grandkids (aged 7, 10 & 12) loved the pool - especially refreshing after a (compulsory - according to their mother) busy day of sightseeing.
It was a great base to visit tourist sites or just "chill out" - we did lots of both! Some of the highlights include: visiting the bi-weekly markets in the Place de Herbs; climbing the Castle tower; being fascinated by the array of medicinal plants in the Medieval Gardens; absorbing the history of the Museum; swimming and canoeing at the Pont de Arc and the Pont de Garde and, for the more healthy and motivated family members, climbing Mont Saint Victorie (Cezanne's mountain). NB: This Grandma passed up the climb offer and "volunteered" to stay home and "watch" the grandkids!! .
Alain and Marie were there to meet us when we arrived. The house was clean and well maintained. It is over three floors - some stairs but not too onerous. After a hip replacement I was able to get up and down with no problems. The house was spacious - plenty of room to get some "alone time". It was clean and well maintained and very, very relaxing.
Marie's kitchen was very well equipped - plenty of everything - just a delight! My son is a chef and he cooked up a storm. He especially loved the electric ovens.
Some things to note: the streets of old Uzes are narrow and can be tricky. There are stairs but they are doable.
Thank you for a holiday to remember! Merci Beaucoup! Chris
The house is really perfekt for a bigger group (we where 4 families), because the kitchen and the living room are big enough and equipped with all you need for more people. It was great to have 3 bathrooms. We enjoyed to light up the open fireplace every evening and to stay on the terrace on sunny days. For sure, if we come again to Uzes that house would be our first choice. :-)
