About this accommodation

Our romantic holiday home is located directly behind the Krummendeich winter dike. Built in the 18th century, it initially served as a pigsty and later as the studio of the late educator and artist Walter Meyer. Renovated and refurnished in 2024, it has become a charming oasis of relaxation, perfect for those seeking peace and quiet amidst beautiful scenery. A large garden with mature trees and a small pond completes the picture.

The accommodation
Our guests stay on two floors. The spacious ground floor, with its rustic but rather low wooden ceiling, features a living and dining area with a wood-burning stove. The toilet is separate. The kitchenette and shower form a practical and functional unit. The generously sized conservatory, where smoking is permitted, offers a wonderful view of the garden. Sleeping and working take place on the upper floor, which, with its sloping ceilings, resembles a cozy tent.

Guest access
Dear guests, you are welcome to use all the facilities in the holiday home. Please remember that smoking is only permitted outdoors and in the conservatory (with the living room door closed!). The area directly in front of the holiday home and the rear section of the garden are available for your use. However, the terrace in front of the large thatched-roof house is private property and should not be entered.

Further important information:
Our holiday home is not wheelchair accessible. There is also a spiral staircase leading upstairs, which is not suitable for people with mobility impairments. Due to the relatively low ceiling height, the cottage is also only partially suitable for guests taller than 1.90 m (6'3").

Currently, we only heat with an infrared heater and a wood-burning stove. Therefore, it can be a bit chilly in our oasis by the dike during the colder months. Otherwise, everything you need for a wonderful holiday is provided. This includes two e-bikes and two regular bicycles, which we are happy to make available to our guests.
