This property is a gem. It sits on a sizeable plot along Deep Creek, so there's lots of privacy. It's minutes to downtown Bryson City, and if you have a bike you could be there in 10 minutes. The property is also minutes away from Juney Whank Falls and Indian Creek Falls. We very much enjoyed our stay.
From start to end, it was a great experience. Location was perfect to hit all the local attractions and still close enough to spend the day in Pigeon Forge one day. It was a fun vacation for the entire family.
We had a wonderful time there was plenty of beds for everyone and space. We try to come up every couple years and love staying here! The kids had plenty of room and mentioned wanting to come back in the summer!
House is very roomy, very clean and has everything you will ever need . Owners are great to work with and easy to communicate with. I give this location 5 stars
This was our first family vacation. We enjoyed our stay so much, we are talking of returning. The home is set up perfectly for grandparents, kids, grandchildren, and dog.
This home was wonderful. The yard provided a great area for the grandchildren to play and the stream was wonderful for exploration. Plenty of sleeping areas and one of the best locations if you are planning on the train rides downtown Bryson City.
For me, it has become a tradition over the years to visit this wonderful town. For my young ones, and family, its their first time, and definitely not their last. It was a wonderful time that is surely to imprint unforgettable memories in us all, and we look forward to visit your wonderful home again in future. Thank you very much, -Wheeler family
Such a welcoming home! It felt like visiting my grandparents. Wooden paneling and vintage touches. Everything was just as described and would recommend to anyone. Will stay here again!
This property is very clean, cozy, and quiet neighborhood. Itâs fully furnished with everything you need to feel right at home. The kids had a blast playing in the creek and we all enjoyed the fire pit. The owners are very helpful and respond quickly. We look forward to our next trip and fingers crossed this property is available when that time comes.
This is the 3rd time we have stayed at Mountain Memories. It is like visiting grandmaâs house. The location is great - 5 minutes from Deep Creek entrance to the Smoky Mountains and 5 minutes to downtown Bryson City. Very quiet neighborhood and on Deep Creek. Well stocked kitchen and level paved road to house. We will be back.
We come to Bryson City every year for our family reunion. This property was perfect for our group and then family was able to come and hang out by the campfire with us from their other cabins.
It was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, and utensils.
We will likely book again for next year because there was plenty of room for all of our kids and it was a safe place for them to play.
With 3 adults, 5 children, and 2 dogs we still had plenty of room to make for an enjoyable stay. The house was great, homey and warm. The children loved the big yard and being on the creek. Our location was great for our visit to the polar express. Loved the downtown area we were able to walk and enjoy all of the shops. Also went to the drive thru light show at the Smokey Mountain event center, loved that too. The house is well stocked with anything you could ever want or need on a trip. We spent oe evening cooking hot dogs and really enjoying the milkshake maker. Would love to come back in the summer where I could see a whole other experience and still just as enjoyable. We all look forward to making this trip again.
The photos do not do this very homey residence justice. We were SO comfortable here: the beds were comfy, the kitchen/dining area was easy to use (kitchen could use a bit better lighting). The living room was great, but we spent all our time in the dining room, on the beautiful Park trails, or in the charming town of Bryson City.. The home is very close to the Deep Creek trails of the Park. All in all, a very good experience, with a big plus based on their pet friendly attitude.
We enjoyed our stay, but we were disappointed in the smell of smoke (or something) in the main living room. The dinginess of the towels and washcloths, tattered bed linens, we found socks in the sofa, water bottle on floor behind table in main living room and cigar under bed. Made us wonder if the home had been cleaned properly. We also did not feel we should have to haul the trash off.
Our children loved having all the room to run and play. The house is located a perfect distance from town and nearby Cherokee. After our departure my husband realized he had forgotten his wedding band. I frantically messaged Shirley and she said she would let the cleaning lady know. Not only was the cleaning lady honest but she found one of our boys stuffed animals we couldnât locate either. Shirley had these items in the mail to us within the week. I can not thank them both enough. I would recommend booking with this family to anyone. Thank you again Shirley
When we rented the home on this site it was advertised as " family friendly." When we got the contract online from VRBO, it said no children allowed. I don't know which statement is correct, however they shouldn't advertise one way, then switch after the money is paid. It may just be an honest mistake. As for the home, it is very nice. It is a well maintained 1950's style brick ranch that has been updated, but still has the charm of an older home. The home is on a beautiful lot in a quiet neighborhood near Deep Creek. I spoke to the owner briefly by phone and they were very pleasent. We are local and often rent a home in the area for overflow guests, and will consider renting this home again, but will need clarification as to if this property is "family friendly" or not.
North Carolina family that treasures the beauty of the Deep Creek area of the Great Smoky Mountain and the comfortable feeling that you find in the town of Bryson City.
Going to Deep Creek has always been a yearly vacation event for my family- since I was a child, then with my wife and then with our children after we became parents. This is a cherished piece of Americana which changes in a way-but never really changes. This area is a peaceful refuge from the everyday pressures of the modern lifestyle. Whether one walks the trails of the park, sits and listens to the symphony of the crystal clear waters of Deep Creek, or seeks to outsmart that trophy trout, Deep Creek has something for everyone of every age. Since the early 1960's, tubing down the creek is a unique local tradition that continues to grow each year. There just isn't anything like stepping out to the early morning fresh mountain air and listening to the babbling waters of Deep Creek. We hope you can experience our little peace of heaven.
