We had a nice time at the condo, the location was super convenient to go to the beach and visit Savannah. We slept tight at night and it felt really good staying at this condo.
Jimmy has one of the sweetest spots on Tybee. Close to all our favorite spots we like to visit when in town. Good and efficient communication. More than enough linens and dried paper goods for our entire stay.
Great for a getaway with no frills, relax on the screened porch. Minutes away from all the island restaurants. We go for the fishing nearby and our animals are safe left alone.
A little run down. Some dishes were still dirty. The house next door was falling a part. The property itself was ok, it was not really close to the beach or shopping but it was close if you wanted to go fishing. There were a lot of nails that were loose on the pier. It was good for the price.
I loved this place. No frills little creek spot. The screened porch was great with a comfy couch and the dock was a nice place to hang out as well. Nice views. The only drawback for me was the 10am check out time. I think thatâs too early for having to move out of a house and wash the dishes etc. Other than that, A! I would definitely stay there again!
Make sure you know what you're getting before you book.
"Waterfront living" is a bit of a stretch. The Pineapple Cottage is in the middle of nowhere on a creek, and it is not a stand-alone unit. If you're looking for relative peace and quiet and a place to get away from it all, this would be the place for you. Just make sure that you bring all of your food items with you, as the only grocery story in the area is a small IGA almost two miles away that is overpriced and has limited choices. If you're looking for beach time, restaurants, and/or nightlife, this might not be the place for you. The beach is a short drive from the rental unit, but the only parking is metered at $2.00/hour. Our advice: If you want solitude, The Pineapple Cottage is for you. If you want to visit Savannah, rent something in Savannah. If you want a beach vacation, rent something on Tybee beach.
We had a nice stay at The Pineapple Cottage. We appreciated the quiet neighborhood and the quick access to downtown Savannah and eating establishments of Tybee Island.
It was perfect for a couples getaway. Location is good. Very short drive to beach. The cottage was very clean. Air conditioning spot on! No TV in bedroom, no washer/dryer. The cottage dock was in good shape, but neighbors were falling apart. Palm leave debris around the dock. These things did not effect our stay and we will stay there again!
Welcome to Tybee Island! I am a proud native Savannah-ian! Savannah and Tybee Island have grown and changed a lot over the years, all for the better! When I was a kid, they called this Savannah Beach! When my mom was younger, they held dances on the pavilion, which has since burned and has now been replaced by the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Savannah was established in 1733, so there is much history to be found in our beautiful downtown too! I am continuing the family tradition with my wife and two sons (8 and 17 months) by ensuring they enjoy the benefits of coastal living too. The photo of me and my son were taken on the Back River at Tybee.
We purchased this property as a second home and investment property in 2004. We began renting the Tybee Island Pelican Drive house last year (2013) with great success and have expanded that to both downstairs units this year. This house is used by our family, and we enjoy it quite a bit. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
The Pelican house is true Tybee living at its best. The house is backed by Chimney Creek, a tidal creek. The creek has six feet of water at high tide and goes completely dry at low tide, exhibiting the extreme tide changes that we experience at Tybee. You can fish and crab out of your back door or just enjoy the sun on the secluded floating dock. Out of the front door, you have the beautiful marsh and coastal winds 24 hours a day.
