Private Basement In-Law Suite W/free Parking NW DC

Beautifully furnished, lower/ground level with separate entrance basement apartment. The basement apartment includes a bedroom with full size bed, full bathroom, kitchen and living area with a sofa bed that converts into a queen size bed for relaxing. Wi-Fi is available. Linens, pillows, towels, extra blankets, and metro maps and public transportation info to get you around the city are all included. Free secure parking and plenty of free off-street parking are available.

The Space

The basement apartment is lower/ground level with a private entrance at the back of house. The space includes a bedroom and closet, full bath, kitchen, living area for relaxing and in-unit washer and dryer. The sofa in the living area converts into a queen size bed for additional house guests.

Centrally controlled AC and heating system; which is controlled upstairs. We'll keep it at a comfortable temperature. However, if the temperature still isn't cold/hot enough for you, we'll be happy to adjust the central air setting.

Extra linens, pillows, towels, blankets, Metro maps and public transportation information to get you around will be available. If needed, a secure parking at the back of the house (in-front of the unit entrance) can be accessed from the ally or plenty free off-street parking are available.

Guest Access

This rental is for the basement apartment only which has separate entrance at ground level at back of house. There is a key-less lock on the door and the access code will be provided to you via message/email 24 hours before check-in. Except the storage room under the stairs, guests will have access to the entire space with Wi-Fi, Cable TV, kitchen, coffee maker, kitchen wares, silver wares, dishes and cups. Also ground coffee and tea will be available for you to enjoy.

The Neighborhood

The house is located in a residential neighborhood; nestled 10 mins (each direction) in between DC and Silver Spring downtown. Unlike most places in DC, it's very quiet with mostly families and long-time residents. Supermarkets (Yes! Organic, Safeway, Wal-Mart), multiple restaurants , CVS are all close by. The popular DC neighborhoods like U Street, Adams Morgan, and Columbia Heights are 10mins drive or Uber/cab ride away. Very convenient for public transportation. Plus, easy access to all the amenities offered by neighboring cities of Takoma Park and Silver Spring, MD.

Getting Around

Airports - Ronald Reagan International (DCA) Airport: 30 mins drive or 45 mins metro; Dulles International (IAD) Airport: 44 mins drive and Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Airport: 44 mins drive.

Metro/Bus - There are multiple bus lines a block away; bus ride or 15 mins walk to Takoma Metro Station (red line) and 15 mins bus ride or 7 mins drive to Georgia Avenue-Petworth Metro Station (green, yellow lines).

Train - The Metro offers easy access to Union Station to go to Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Canada, etc.

DC is an extremely bike-friendly and walk-able city, which makes traveling to most places very easy. The closest Capital Bike-share spots is at the Walmart Super Center (5 mins walk). You can also check out other spots on their website.

Other Things to Note

In the living area, there is stairs that leads up to the main house and a connecting door. The door is locked. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM OPENING the door as you will disrupt the residents’ privacy and trigger an alarm for local station to be contacted.

If there is any problem with any appliance/ Wi-Fi, etc., let us know.

Please note that we will not be responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises during your stay. We are also not going to be responsible for the loss or damage of personal belongings or valuables of the guests.

House Rules

House rules are common sense and based on mutual respect. If you need something, please ask. Absolutely no smoking inside the house, illegal activities and parties. Pets are not allowed.

If you are traveling with kids, please note that the unit is NOT “baby proof” and do not have any special amenities to accommodate kids.

Number of guests must match reservation amount and no overnight guests beyond those that have been disclosed to the homeowner. Valid photo ID & credit card are required at check-in. Any fees and charges may be paid with credit card provided.

Please leave the place clean or as you found it. If item or items is damaged, please notify us immediately. Please turn off the lights when you leave if you will be gone for more than a few hours. Close all windows to prevent wind and rain damage.

This is a quiet family residential neighborhood and we want to be respectful of our neighbors; please keep noise levels to a minimum after 11 pm.
