Collegiate Peaks Retreat

Nestled on two private acres just north of Buena Vista, Collegiate Peaks Retreat is a warm and inviting mountain home surrounded by stunning views in every direction. This three-story cabin offers the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and functionality, making it an ideal home base for outdoor adventures or peaceful relaxation in the heart of the Rockies. This special cabin carries a sense of love, warmth and personality throughout.

Guests enter through the lower-level mud room, designed with mountain living in mind. It is the perfect place to store skis, hiking boots, bikes, or other outdoor equipment after a day of adventure. This level also features a cozy TV room with a comfortable sofa, a dedicated office desk for remote work, laundry facilities, a bathroom with shower, and a sunny reading bench tucked into the window for quiet mornings or afternoon relaxation.

The main living spaces are located on the second level, where an open and airy floor plan creates a welcoming gathering space. Here you will find two bedrooms, a full bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen with center island and seating, and a dining area ideal for family meals or entertaining. The living room is anchored by a charming wood-burning stove and includes an additional reading nook, perfect for curling up with a book on snowy evenings.

Outdoor living is one of Collegiate Peaks Retreat’s highlights. A small deck just off the dining room faces north and east, offering peaceful sunrise views and fresh mountain air. Sliding glass doors from the living room lead to an oversized deck furnished for outdoor dining, lounging, or simply soaking in the scenery. Just off the kitchen, the bright sunroom provides another relaxing space to enjoy morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.

The entire third floor is dedicated to the private primary suite, complete with a spacious bedroom, ensuite bathroom with shower, and its own east-facing deck—an exceptional spot to greet the sunrise that luminate the mountains. While The Retreat is not a dog-friendly property, guests may appreciate knowing that the owners’ cherished dog, Mustard, does occasionally visit this beloved cabin retreat. Pictures of Ms. Mustard can be found throughout the cabin.

Please note that we do have a security camera that is located on the front of the home. We have a permit with the county as well as the HOA which prohibits the number of guests allowed on the property at one time . No parties or events will be allowed. While VRBO might not include infants in their head count, our permit does not differentiate between infants, children, and/or adults, therefore infants are included under our permit. STR Permit 023458
