The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat has you covered.
The home sits on 4 acres and backs up to a conservation easement, making it feel like the entire valley is yours. Wake up to the best coffee in the valley while taking in unobstructed views of Mt. Princeton and Cottonwood Pass. Treat yourself. Enjoy the private hot tub with the best views in the valley!
The home was completely remodeled by the hosts in 2021 to include all new flooring, new cabinets, granite countertops, LG kitchen appliances, fully finished garage, tiled showers, new ceiling fans, LED lights throughout, and much more.
KITCHEN
We love to cook, so you will have access to all the cooking essentials! The kitchen is stocked with silverware, plates, bowls, glasses, coffee cups, and wine glasses. It also has pots, pans, slow cooker, blender, coffee grinder, strainers, mixing bowls, and more. We have you covered for the small miscellaneous items such as all the openers for wine, bottles and cans. We do not provide perishable items such as salt, pepper, and oil. However, we do supply a bag of organic coffee from our local shop, The Buena Vista Roastery. Please ask if you have specific cooking needs.
BEDROOMS
There are three private bedrooms in the home. Each bedroom is equipped with a smart Roku TV. Please note that we do not offer streaming services, but all apps are available for use with your own account.
Bedroom 1 is the master suite. It has a King bed with an en suite bathroom. The King bed has a Tuft & Needle memory foam mattress with a memory foam topper. This is ultimate comfort. There is a clothes bar for your use as the closet is needed for our cleaning team.
Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed with a Tuft & Needle memory foam mattress and a memory foam topper.
Bedroom 3 has a Full bed and a Twin bed. Both beds have a memory foam topper for very comfortable sleeping. We also have a 2-in-1 compact playard with bassinet & playpen for your little one.
BATHROOMS
Both bathrooms are supplied with bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths. Additionally, we provide travel size shampoo, conditioner, body soap, lotion, and makeup wipes in each bathroom. In the master bathroom, you will find a hair dryer in the vanity drawers. The showers in both bathrooms have a rainfall shower head because once you use a rainfall shower head, you'll never want anything else.
LAUNDRY ROOM
You will have access to a full-size LG washer and dryer. We provide scent-free laundry detergent and dryer sheets. The room is also equipped with a mop, floor cleaner, broom and vacuum.
GARAGE (GAME ROOM/GYM)
The garage is fully insulated, but it is still a garage. We have a space heater in there, but it can be quite chilly when it's freezing outside. In the garage, there is a fitness area equipped with a stationary bike, pull-up bar, dumbbells (5-25 lbs), kettlebells (10-50 lbs), medicine balls, and more. The game area has a pool table, foosball table, a board game table, and additional seating.
EXTERIOR
The interior of the home is amazing, but let's be honest. It's the views and the privacy that make The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat the ultimate getaway. Enjoy the 6-person HotSprings spa for ultimate relaxation after a day of exploring the valley. Because Buena Vista sits at approximately 8,000 feet, the evenings can be cool all year round. This makes for perfect soaking conditions.
Hot tub not your thing? The backyard also has 4 Adirondack chairs, a swinging bench, and a 6-person dining table for the warmer months. We also offer a gas grill with provided propane and utensils. Enjoy the views of Mt. Princeton and Cottonwood Pass in one of the many seating options. Do yourself a favor and book The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat during a new moon. On a clear night, you may be lucky enough to see the best view of The Milky Way of your life.

We have partners in the area that are available should any hands-on issues need to be addressed. Otherwise, we are available through the platform's messaging software to answer any questions regarding the home and local area.
The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat is in a safe, quiet, and rural setting. It is one of the last homes on County Road 339 with the next door neighbor almost one mile away. This neighbor also happens to sell farm fresh eggs during the warmer months that are absolutely delicious. If you choose to walk to the farm, it is very peaceful and contains breathtaking views of Mt. Princeton and the Collegiate Peaks.
Our neighbors are super friendly, clean the home, and help us take care of it while we are away.

There are a few bike routes out the Buena Vista Mountain Retreat, but it is best to drive to town and trails as CR 306 (Cottonwood Pass) can become quite busy during peak season.
Guests will not have access to the wood burning stove, wood shed, or barn.
We do not offer a fire pit due to the dry climate and high winds. We appreciate your understanding.
We have the best internet in Buena Vista, T-Mobile 5G Home Internet. While it is typically very fast, there are occasional outages that arise from the cold winters, high winds, tower upgrades, and thunderstorms. Mountain living!
The maximum occupancy limit is 6 guests. If unapproved additional guests are discovered at the property during a stay, the renter will be evicted from the property immediately, charged $250 per guest per night, and will not receive a refund for the remainder of their stay. If the additional guests are not discovered until after the renter leaves, the renter will be charged $250 per guest per night.

The following rules are strictly enforced to adhere to the countyâs strict rental regulations and to ensure the ownerâs rental permit is not revoked and is annually renewed. When a reservation is confirmed at The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat (on any platform) the renter acknowledges and agrees to the following terms outlined below. The owners reserve the right to cancel any renterâs reservation without notice. The renter is liable for the actions of their guests.
PETS
No pets are allowed. We do not allow exceptions. If a pet is discovered at the property during a stay, the renter will be evicted from the property immediately, charged $250 + damages, and they will not receive a refund for the remainder of their stay. If the pet is not discovered until after the renter leaves, the renter will be charged $250 + damages.
PARTIES
No parties are allowed. This is a zero-tolerance policy. If a party is discovered at the property during a stay, the renter will be evicted from the property immediately, charged $250 + damages, and they will not receive a refund for the remainder of their stay. SMOKING
No indoor smoking is allowed. Please dispose of all butts if smoking outdoors. THE BARN AND WOODSHED
The barn and woodshed are off-limits.
FIREARMS & FIREWORKS
The discharging of firearms or fireworks on these premises is strictly prohibited. If either of these rules are broken, the renter will be immediately evicted and will receive a $250 fine + any other legal feeâs accumulated from the altercation.
NOISE
No renter shall make, cause, or permit unreasonable noise to be emitted from the property that is audible upon private premises in excess of the limits set forth in Title 25, Article 12, Colorado Revised Statutes, or otherwise disturbs the peace. If the renter violates this rule, the group will immediately be evicted and will receive a $250 fine + any other legal feeâs accumulated from the altercation.
LATE CHECKOUT
We do not allow late check-outs. The cleaning team needs maximum time to prepare each unit due to our high cleaning standards and occupancy levels. The renter will be charged for a late checkout unless a predetermined agreement has been made between the owners and the renter.

Hi! I'm Ashley, and I co-host The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat with my husband, Mason. We met at an Air Force base in Northern California while I was in the Air National Guard. Mason had recently left the Army and was working as a contractor in my same career field. Together, we entered the rental business almost immediately after getting together. After spending a few years in Auburn, California we decided we wanted a change. We landed in Buena Vista for its whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, and skiing. We lived in The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat for 6 months while we completed a full renovation of the home. Life has moved us back to California, so we decided to rent out our dream home, The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat, while we are away. We hope you enjoy the area and home as much as we do.

We bought this property because we wanted it all. Privacy, seclusion, and all of the outdoor activities. When you stay at The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat, you are within 10 minutes of nearly every outdoor activity you can imagine. Whitewater rafting Browns Canyon, hiking the Colorado Trail, ascending a 14er, mountain biking, fly fishing, rock climbing, and so much more.

We fell in love with this property due to its unobstructed views of Mt Princeton, which is arguably one of the best in the Valley. The Buena Vista Mountain Retreat hot tub provides incredible relaxation and star-gazing opportunities. The property is located on 4 acres and is just a short 5-minute drive from downtown BV, which allows for the perfect balance between convenience and privacy.
