Homestead Cabin Grand Lake

Cozy cabin with convenient location to the National Park and town. It had everything we needed as a small family and really enjoyed the stay.

Wonderful and cozy!

This cabin is both very cute and cozy and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is full stocked and we cooked several good meals and had all that we needed. We absolutely recommend this cabin!

Most everything was as advertised… could have been better informed about narrow step stairway to basement bedroom and we never did figure out the heating system.

Adequate, but nothing special

This VRBO is an older, historic home with log cabin feel. Interior is rather dark, steps to lower bedroom treacherous bed and pillows downstairs uncomfortable, deck dirty. In a crowded part of town with duplexes directly above with plenty of activity on decks, hindering enjoying outdoors. Plenty of dust on curtains, window sills, exterior of windows. Positives were a nice kitchen and dining area. Bathrooms were adequate. Laundry room was a nice plus.

Homestead Cabin in Grand Lake, CO

Our small family gets together 2-3 times per year at a different cabin in Colorado; often near Estes Park. This summer we chose the Homestead Cabin in Grand Lake on the west side of the continental divide not far from the entrance to RMNP and a short walk/ride to the town of Grand Lake and its many restaurants. Wonderful cabin with all the need necessary amenities to rough it up in the high country including wifi, internet, large TV, dishwasher, W/D. Very clean and quite rustic. My only complaints (minor) were the numerous other cabins crowded on the hill and the front door lock that was difficult to open and close.Notwithstanding this was one of the most pleasant cabins we have enjoyed in the Rocky Mountains. I highly recommend.

Would have been helpful if in the description they said there were air mattress as we brought our own only to find out the house had them, or if the second bedroom had a twin over full bunk, but we made do as our kids don't like to share a bed. The couch is a bit worn out in spots so if you have a bad back beware. Nice location and the staff at GMR were very pleasant and helpful. We go up to Grand Lake every year and would rent this property again!

Hi Angelina, Thanks so much for staying with us! We were not aware of any air mattresses at the property and do not advertise them unless they are part of the sleeping arrangements for the home. This home sleeps a total of 4 people with the two beds listed. So happy that you had a wonderful stay and we hope that you come back again!

old folks stay

only issues (because of our age) mattresses were so high, my friend had to purchase a step stool in order to get in bed. lack of local news and CBS, and NBC channel very frustrating. We had great difficulty manipulating "smart TV" again, age certainly a factor. lock issue with door a major frustration. overall, we had a great time and found the cabin warm, welcoming and well stocked compared to other VRBO's we have stayed in. Cozy, clean, and well-decorated cabin in a prime location

Loved this cute, renovated cabin that lives up to its name as the "Homestead House". I believe it was one of the original homesteads in Grand Lake. It's cozy, cute, and well decorated with some finish upgrades and appointments from the wood trim and ceilings, to light fixtures, wall decor, and linens. Both bathrooms are very well done. It's a perfect size for a family of 4 or two couples. The living room sofa is big and comfortable and the island in the kitchen is long with plenty of seating. It could use a few more staples such as cooking oil and a few spices. It did have salt/pepper, and sugar. Queen size beds in both rooms would take the property to the next level but that said, the beds were comfortable with nice quality linens. The location to Grand Ave. makes it a prime spot to stay in if you want to be close to the Grand Lake shops and restaurants. We will definitely be staying here again!
