Hawthorn House is a spacious three-bedroom home just steps from Como Lake in Saint Paul. Perfect for families or small groups, Hawthorn offers two separate apartments within one home, giving guests extra space and privacy while staying together.

The home includes a charming upper one-bedroom apartment featuring a cozy kitchen, king bed, comfortable living room, in-unit laundry, and full bathroom. The upstairs also includes a private deck overlooking the large backyard and fire pit. Also included is the larger first-floor two-bedroom apartment, which features a full kitchen, king bedroom, queen bedroom, comfortable living area, and a full bathroom, all recently remodeled. The apartments do not connect on the inside, and guests move between floors using the exterior entrances. This layout works well for groups who want privacy between spaces while still staying in the same home. Additional airbeds with linens are available for a small rental fee for groups with up to 9 guests.

Hawthorn House is part of Woodland Hollow, a small cluster of homes on this quiet private cul-de-sac that we host and manage ourselves to provide a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for guests.

Located directly across from the walking and biking paths around Como Lake, Hawthorn is minutes from Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and beautiful Como Regional Park. You'll also have convenient access to Allianz Field, the University of Minnesota, Regions Hospital, and both Downtown Saint Paul and Downtown Minneapolis.

Outside on the front porch you can watch trains pass by and neighbors walking their dogs behind a tiny city park, or enjoy the large back deck with dining area overlooking the spacious backyard with fire pit and shared grill. Free street parking is available directly in front of the home, with additional parking available in the alley behind the property. Public transportation is plentiful and just steps away.

You can't ask for a better location. So near to a lake, walking path, conservatory, a zoo, and beautiful gardens around the neighborhood. Bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen are very good. Bathroom in first floor drains very slow. More space for dining and a table to play games would be helpful. We also were able to find places to eat within walking distance (15 minutes or so). We also saw public transit around the area. Access to the managers was easy and prompt. Please check with them before renting as far as upstairs air conditioner, there were 2 but one of them didn't work well. So the last night upstairs was rough. You will need to be ready to tolerate the sound of cargo trains which transit on the side of the property day and night. Saturday into Sunday was quieter. Some things to improve? Yes. Location is wonderful? Yes. What about the trains? That one is not going away.Thank you for helping our stay and time in MN.

Great location close to everything we needed. The ability to have grandparents upstairs and parents and grandkids in the lower unit was wonderful. We didn’t use the outdoor amenities, but it would have been nice to have a bonfire if the timing was right. The kitchens were equipped with coffee, creamer and sugar so there was no need to chase out in the morning for a caffeine boost. If we would have wanted to cook in, the spices, oils and lots of cooking utensils were available. The only issue we had was table seating was not enough for the four staying in the lower unit. We were able to improvise, but a larger table would have been nice. Kids sitting on the stools was lot ideal but that is a minor complaint.
