We recently stayed at this unit at Emerald Towers in Destin. The Emerald Towers property itself is beautiful, very well maintained, and has excellent access to the white sand beach. The pool area was also very nice, and we would consider staying at the property again in a different unit.Unfortunately, this particular condo did not meet expectations. Upon arrival, we were not provided the gate code, and another guest had to help us enter the property. We later called the management number because the parking passes referenced in the check-in instructions were missing, and the gate code we were given still did not work.The unit itself appeared overdue for deep cleaning and general maintenance. The carpets were very worn and stained, tile grout throughout the condo was heavily discolored, and our socks were noticeably dirty after walking around the unit the first evening. We ended up wearing shoes inside for the remainder of the stay. There were also several maintenance concerns, including broken doors, shower heads that sprayed in multiple directions, and very old, firm mattresses.Overall, the location and property amenities were excellent, but the condition and cleanliness of this unit would keep us from booking it again.
