Bay front studio

The stay was great. Cleanliness could have been better. Smashed roach on the sliding glass door, long black hair all over the bathroom floor, black out curtain is in need of hanging clips. Needed iteems in the room: hairdryer, towels for the pool or beach.

We had a great trip

The property was in a safe location. Restaurants within walking distance where delicious and there was a variety. The views from the balcony or beautiful. We enjoy the pool and walking out on the docks. It was a little tight for us. I was traveling with my teenager and 10 year old. There was not real room to open the sofa bed for my teen without impeding walkways but he was fine sleeping on the couch. Extra towels would have been helpful especially considering I do travel with children and they are not always careful about getting water on the floor. When I requested extra towels I was told that would not be possible. Otherwise we enjoyed everything and the property met my expectations.

Stay away from this property!

The small unit was filthy! My husband found a large “chunk” of who knows what under the dresser; the carpets were so dirty and stained we would not walk without our sandals; and there was mold and mildew around the tub. The smell was disgusting, the mattress was horrible, and the “kitchen” was tiny, dirty, and severally understocked. The only positive was the bay and pool view from the balcony. We were so disappointed with the accommodations that we cut our vacation short by 2 days. Unless you don’t care about cleanliness, do NOT stay here!!!!

You get what you pay for (FYI, we did not communicate with Property Mgr but had to rate it)

I chose this property because our family needed an inexpensive place to stay while in town for a softball tourney. When we arrived the studio was clean and appeared cared for. Knowing that we wouldn't spend too much time in the room, it seemed to fit our needs. However, there were a number of little - moderate issues that we didn't encounter right away. The vast majority of the time, the elevator wasn't working (we had a 3rd fl studio). Fortunately, we had no disability issues, otherwise we would've needed to move. It made getting groceries to the room & coming back after all-day softball games not very pleasant. The dresser drawers were loose on the tracks, so we had to be mindful each time we opened one, otherwise the entire drawer would fall to the floor. One of the lights didn't work. Our daughter had to sleep on top of the sofa because the sofa bed mattress is super thin with rusty sounding springs. It was unbearable to just sit on the mattress, let alone sleep on it. There were fitted & top sheets for sofabed, but no pillow cases, and the two pillows provided were stained (couldn't tell if one was just stained or actually mildewed). The kitchenette was really small and the pots provided were too big to fit on a burner. We didn't expect to do any serious cooking, but we were concerned that even boiling water might set off the smoke detector. The shower curtain rod is super rusty, so we couldn't hang wet swimsuits or towels over it. The information email about washers/dryers indicated that the cost is $1.50 for each, but it's actually $2.00. That wouldn't have been a big deal if we hadn't made a special trip to the store to get $3.00 in quarters to do laundry, and after a long day with the elevators not working, we had to make another trip out to get an additional $1.00 in change. As we tried to tidy up, the broom provided had frayed bristles that made more of a mess than it cleaned. With those negatives noted, the location was really good and easy to get to and get around, there were small amenities including a couple of laundry pods & laundry sheets, dishwashing liquid, iron/small ironing board, Meyers hand soap (good quality), clean, extra towels and 2 beach towels. The AC worked the entire time and maintained a very comfortable temperature. The pool was nice and well maintained. This studio was 1/2 the price of the more expensive properties in the area. We knew we were getting no frills, but expected the basics to be better.

50th birthday vacation

Had an amazing time! Was not happy with my adult son having to sleep on air mattress because lay out couch was too uncomfortable that was the reason we rented that room for the extra queen pull out sofa the cleaning lady told us that the last people who stayed complained also. The owner should take that out and get a new one or take off website that was a selling point for me having a grown adult with us.

Inside of microwave rusty and coming apart. Sofa hide a bed very uncomfortable. Springs could be felt through the very thin mattress. Silverware left uncovered on top of outdated refrigerator. Small stovetop and no oven. Unit definitely needs to be updated. Shower rod rusty and came off on towel.

My Weekend Stay

Just me and my daughter, so plenty of space for us. Great view of the bay! It is old, so needs a little work, carpet stayed wet the whole weekend and the pool definitely needed to be cleaned. Otherwise, we were happy.

Super Convenient

I chose this room based on it being a convenient location for paramotor training with Fly High Paramotors. The location was super convenient for my needs. While not a beach view, the water bay area view from the balcony is beautiful. The room is basically like a hotel room with a full fridge and very small kitchenette. My only complaint was personal. I found the bed extremely soft, but my wife, had she been with me, would have loved it.

Very nice place for the price.

I want to start by saying this place is very nice for the price. The Pirates Bay property is well maintained and very clean. The condo itself was small, but I stayed alone so it was perfect. I wouldn’t recommend more than 2-3 people max. My only complaint is that it is carpeted and the carpet could definitely use a cleaning...or just ripped out and upgraded to tile. Also, the coffee pot could stand to be replaced. It’s just a basic drip machine that cost $15 to replace. Just something for the owners to consider. The stove barely gets hot enough to boil water but it’s great for warming up things that don’t need to be boiled. The view from the balcony was very nice, the bathroom is up to date and water pressure is good. All things considered, I would absolutely stay here again. If you’re into sushi, the best sushi place in FWB is only 1.5 miles away (this is according to Yelp reviews) and my own experience. Also, best taco place in FWB is 6 miles away. Sushi place is called Soi. Taco place is Burrito del Sol. There’s also an Olive Garden about 100 yards from the condo.

A very relaxing stay for a getaway with your significant other. We really enjoyed ourselves and didn't want to leave! It was very quiet and very peaceful. I will definitely stay again!

Clean unit with pretty view

The unit was clean and has a pretty view from the balcony. The bathroom is roomy and the king bed comfy. Very nice linens. Our main disappointment was that there was no heated pool as advertised. Also, we would not stay there again until the outside painting is finished. We called VRBO and because of the pool and painting they did refund some of our money. The kitchen area is sparsely furnished and items are in cabinets too high for me, at 5'3", to reach and no kitchen stool like I have at home.
