I’m originally from Peru and have been living in Costa Rica for more than 20 years, drawn here by the ocean, the slower pace of life, and the strong connection to nature. Playa Negra quickly became home — a place where days are shaped by tides, sunsets, and good energy.

I love the simple things: morning walks on the beach, swimming in the ocean, sharing meals with friends and family, good music, and creating welcoming spaces where people can truly relax. I am a glass artist; work and live next door. Also have an amazing restaurant on the beach next door ; Avellanas. Hosting has always felt natural to me because I used to have a hotel and I genuinely enjoy helping people feel comfortable and at ease, whether they’re here to surf, unplug, work remotely, or spend quality time with loved ones.

My goal is for guests to feel like they’re staying in a home, not just a rental — a place where you can slow down, breathe, and enjoy the beauty of Costa Rica. I’m always happy to share local tips, favorite beaches, restaurants, or quiet spots nearby if you’d like.

The neighborhood is peaceful, safe, and immersed in nature — a place where you can truly slow down and disconnect. The house is just steps from what feels like a semi-private beach, often quiet and uncrowded, perfect for long walks, swimming, or simply enjoying the sound of the ocean.

On low tide its filled with tide pools that feel like therapeutic hot baths and you can jump from one to the other choosing the right temperature.

Within an easy walking distance, you’ll find two surf breaks, Callejones, a mid to high tide left reef break and Playa Negra that is a world class wave that works with all tides and swells, making it ideal for surfers while still remaining calm and relaxed for non-surfers. Between the house and Playa Negra is Sandy beach, as its name calls it, it a perfect sandy family beach. If you want to learn how to surf; this is the spot. The area is surrounded by lush vegetation, wildlife, and open space, creating a strong connection to nature and a sense of privacy that’s increasingly rare.

There’s no traffic noise or crowds here — just ocean breezes, birds, and the rhythm of the sea. It’s the kind of place where days start barefoot and end with unforgettable sunsets.

We built the house many years after living in Playa Negra and understanding how nature works here. So it has high ceilings that makes it cooler, big outdoor hang out spots and a comfortable kitchen . the house has great wifi aswell. Off course every bedroom has its own bathroom and aircon.

What truly sets it apart is the feeling it offers: peaceful mornings, barefoot days, ocean air, and nights under the stars. It’s a home that invites you to slow down and experience Playa Negra in an authentic, relaxed way.
