Loved the property location, right on the water! Was able to watch the ships go in and out which we all loved. The house had everything that we needed including games to play for girls night in! Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit Duluth.
Wonderful stay with friends and family. Kitchen was fully stocked for cookin. Living area was cozy and spacious with breathtaking views of the lake. Communication with owner was simple and efficient.
Great location with beach access and beautiful view of the lake. The home has a large deck. Kitchen is well stocked. Seven people fit very comfortably but can accommodate more if needed. Property is only about a mile from town which has a boardwalk along the lake, shopping and restaurants. Highly recommended!
The rental view were wonderful we had many ships and sailboats to watch. There is an access point for the beach next to the property so on weekends you have some foot traffic. The kitchen was well stocked for me to cook meals for my family. We very much enjoyed our stay.
Our trip to Park Point was wonderful. The home had everything we needed (including jigsaw puzzles, which were helpful as unfortunately we had a lot of rain). The kitchen was well stocked, there were a couple of Beach chairs and toys for the beach, the decor was lovely with huge windows looking out over Lake Superior. The host was very easy to communicate with. We loved it and would stay again!
This comfortable home in a residential location with wonderful views of the sand dunes and lake was the perfect place for our family gathering. Ages 12 to 77 agreed the place met their needs. The kitchen is well stocked for a large group. The location was perfect for our plans to take the rail trips to admire the fall colors. Easy parking well lit. The youngest enjoyed their hideout upstairs. The elders enjoyed the comfort and views of the living area. Multi generational family group coming together for fun weekend. Mission accomplished.
We travel to Duluth at least once a year and have always stayed in a hotel. Decided to rent this house and it was great. Room to move around, on the beach, great views and comfortable beds. Close to Canal Park. Can't go wrong with the beach access, even in March!
The beach house was clean, comfortable, and roomy. We loved the big windows facing the lake, the large deck to eat our meals, and of course the path to the beach.
This was our third time staying at the property, and weâve enjoyed every stay. There were several updates, including the kitchen which made the place look even better than it was. The owner has been very responsive, including bringing us a new remote when we couldnât find one!
We stayed here over an extended weekend to celebrate our daughterâs wedding. The house and location were great. My only regret is not getting more time to enjoy the beach. The sunrise in the morning is amazing. We would stay here again.
I felt like we were in a movie. The scenery was fantastic. The beach access was fantastic. The house accommodated all our needs. Bedrooms were spacious; Room for a pack n play. Kitchen well stocked with cookware/serving utensils.
The home met all our needs. Great view of Lake Superior, and a short walk down to the beach. Very handy location for accessing all of Duluth's attractions - the train ride, the harbor cruise, Glensheen mansion tours, walking along the pier and the Canal Park district, visiting the aquarium and the Maritime Museum and the ore ship, climbing the tower, driving to Gooseberry Falls - we were able to pack all this into three days, and all are highly recommended activities! Watching the lift bridge in operation is always a treat!
We found the house to be well equipped with good towels, linens and starter tp, paper towels and garbage bags. We cooked most of our meals and were happy with the way the kitchen had all of the necessary pots, pans and glassware. The house is close to everything we needed but still is very private because of the trees and landscape. We enjoyed watching the cargo ships enter and depart from the harbor. The walk to the beach is very do-able and we enjoyed some nice days playing in the water. We were fortunate to have warm June weather. Would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful family trip with our two young children to this excellent beach home. The home had everything we needed - a very well stocked kitchen, linens, etc. The home was extremely clean and tidy and we felt right at home immediately. I can't get over the amazing view from the home - it never got old to wake up to that and we definitely took advantage of the beautiful beach right out the front door. We used the fire pit and grill as well - both were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this property to others looking for a beach getaway.
Big difference between advertisement and the real house
My friends and I were planning to go to Duluth to chill. Where to live was one of the most significant issues we had to face, so we did a lot of research on the houses for short-term rent. Seen from the ads, Sandy Point perfectly matched our basic requirements, hot waters, heats, and enough bedrooms. Although we were kind of tired of the numerous rules and regulations from the owner, we eventually decided to rent this house for Friday and Saturday nights. When we got there on Friday, however, we disappointedly found the heat was not powerful enough to heat the big house; the other morning when we went shower, the hot water quickly ran out. So basically we "enjoyed" a cold weekend at a big house without even enough hot water for visitors to take shower.

Great house! Too many rules.
The house was great and just what we needed for a combined family of three couples. Very clean and neat, well equipped. Great views and access to the lake. However, it had only limited air conditioning and we were there during the hottest part of the summer. Lots of available fans helped out some.
There are many notes pasted around the house about thermostat settings, eating, cleaning up, etc., that were a bit hard to follow. In addition, the owners have a small apartment in the lower level of the house and were there during our stay which was a bit unnerving and felt like it cramped our enjoyment some. Lots of rules in the rental contract so be prepared to have restricted numbers of guests, providing their names in the contract, and even having day visitors limited! We'd never seen a more restrictive agreement for a vacation home rental!
When you choose to rent a vacation home you always get more and spend less. Each private property is fully furnished and has a fully equipped kitchen (blender, crock pot, spice rack, utensils etcetera), all linens, family room, cable tv, free wifi internet, private yard and more.
