Casa Formosa is located less than 10 minutes’ drive from the vivid fishermen town of “Olhão”, on a contemplative hillside, in a calm valley. We designated it so, because from the major spots of our landed property, you got an amazing view to the Ria Formosa. Evergreen hills are flanking the dale, here it is perfect to keep an eye on the turning of the tide. Ferries oscillates between mainland and up streamed Isles of “Armona” and “Culatra”. Countless sailing boats anchors during summertime, by day they twinkle snow-white and by night they glitter as stars, which felt into the ocean…
Casa Formosa is right in the middle of the 7000 square meter plot and its old tree population. Out of 3 cardinal points the land declines to the valley, that is why the apartment has its own private garden of 1500 square meters dimension were also a boules court of 14x4 meters founds place. In the old residential area of the elongate estate there are the very busy owners living. They help with words and deeds, will be a good neighbour to you, and at the same time they will absolutely respect your privacy. They realized plenty of their ideas at Casa Formosa and took their fist-hand professional experience in mediating holiday accommodations since years, in advantage for this project. Since age of times the conception has been planned and in 2013 finalized. The result became a very comfortable holiday house with very well considered details and snugly atmosphere….
Entering through the big glass door, the cosy materials of tiles, doors and furniture offer a nice and warm welcome. Passing the round arch, you come to the spacious living room, which is divided into kitchen and sitting room. In between there is a bar, where you can have a relaxed chat. All three windows from the lounge are going to South-west and offer you a beautifully view into the garden to the ocean. Folding shutters and an excellent isolation, will spend lovely coolness during summertime, and during the rest of the year, the room can be flooded with sun and bright light, similarly. Fly screens keep away undesirable visitors. Wood burner in cast iron, is the heart of the living room, it is fixed on a semi-circle brick layer platform. A dining area with dining table, sofa suite and little corner with TV completes the sitting room. The “blue kitchen” is adjoining, best equipped, nothing to miss, while a look out of the window over the Ria Formosa will sweeten your holiday.
2 bedrooms going towards North, according to requirements, you can put the beds as a double or single one . Each bedroom has a wardrobe, a ceiling fan and air condition (the consumption will be charged extra). In between the bedrooms is the bathroom located, very tastefully with Portuguese tiles and a bathtub and bidet. In case you are more than 4 people, the studio next to, can also be rented in addition (see Studio Casa Formosa). The studio is through 2 doors cutting acoustic.
Open access to the guest garden is exclusive for apartment visitors. Common use is just the parking area and the utility room with washing machine. Worth mentioning, that both units are also wonderful during cooler season, because all rooms got their very economically wall heating working with infra-red, which is very healthy and spends cushy warmness. The apartment got in addition to them also a wood burner.

Casa Formosa´s surrounding is quite nice to stroll up and discover the nature, there is a plenty to observe. Up from the hill on the back side of the casa, you got a fantastic view over the Ria Formosa, the Atlantic and the fishermen town of “Olhão”. Especially by night it is amazing, when the city lights, the illumination of the island villages, the lighthouse and the stars are shining. Crossing narrow sandy path along very ancient stone walls, almond trees, figs and carobs you should continue your walk. With a little knowledge of a place, you can reach the small lagoon beach of "Cavacos", not longer than half hour by feet. We do recommend a car, going to the beach, shopping or sightseeing. Holiday guests who like to spend a more active leisure time, could do all this also by bicycle.
