Backwoods Lodge in Liberty, Mississippi is especially close to my heart. I love that guests can feel tucked away in the woods, spend their mornings on the porch, explore the property and enjoy the quiet, while still being close to Liberty, McComb and Homochitto National Forest.

The Southern Stay brand was built around one idea: travel should feel personal again. Not overly corporate. Not cold. Just beautiful spaces, good communication, and memorable stays that actually make people feel welcome.

Backwoods Lodge gives you the best part of getting away: the feeling that you’re actually away. Tucked among the trees in Liberty, Mississippi, you can wake up to birdsong, drink coffee from the porch rocking chairs, wander private trails through plenty of wooded acreage, and spend evenings under star-filled skies.

But secluded doesn’t have to mean inconvenient. You’ll still have Starlink high-speed WiFi, Walmart delivery right to the cabin, and local restaurants, shops and coffee nearby in Liberty. Homochitto National Forest and McComb are both just a short drive away.

We designed Backwoods Lodge for the trips where you want to slow down without roughing it — weekend getaways, outdoor adventures, retreats, family time, movie nights, porch sitting and doing absolutely nothing at all.

Inside, you’ll find cozy lodge style spaces with Roku TVs, Starlink high speed internet, and a theater style living room perfect for movie nights. The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and includes:

• Trundle daybed in the gathering room
