The Pantry: Restful guest suite in centre of historic Bath

Welcome to The Pantry! Please join us in our family home, situated in the heart of the historic City of Bath. We’ve created a private and spacious guest suite for two on the lower ground floor for your exclusive use, comprising a bedroom, kitchen, sitting room, conservatory and shower room. The bedroom can be set up as a double or twin. The Pantry is tucked away in a quiet street, a short walk from all Bath's delights!

Please note that The Pantry is only separated from the rest of the house by a staircase, and that the upper floors are for family use only.

We love Jane Austen and all things historic. Originally built in the 1860s, the Pantry is full of Victorian style. It’s quirky and the walls aren’t straight; the doors and windows are draughty originals. However vintage design doesn’t exclude modern comforts, with a newly refurbished and equipped kitchen and shower room.

From the Pantry you have direct access to our lovely garden, which you’re welcome to enjoy with us. You can also relax in the conservatory.

Bath is best explored on foot and at The Pantry you will be perfectly situated to discover the best Bath has to offer.

If you do need to bring a car, Visitor's Parking Permits are available for on street parking. Please confirm whether you will be driving, before you come, so we can provide the permits.

The Pantry is located in a quiet street, just off historic Great Pulteney Street. The road is lined with Georgian Terraces and Victorian Villas and across from the house is tree-lined Henrietta Park, with views across to the hills surrounding Bath.

A 5 minute walk up Great Pulteney Street and over Pulteney Bridge will bring you into the centre of Bath with all it's cafes, shops and historic attractions.

Very quaint place with lots of space and privacy. It is very conveniently located and made for a perfect base for our visit. Sallyann was very sweet and attentive. We will absolutely look into returning on our next trip to Bath!

Best place for discovering Bath. Perfect location with all (and much more) you need for a stay. Liz is a super host, very supportive and friendly, easy and fast to reach.

We found that The Pantry is a wonderful venue for a perfect stay in Bath. We had a truly great long weekend. The hosts are friendly, welcoming, efficient and homely. The rooms are large well appointed and beautifully decorated and comfortable. There is a lovely sunny conservatory looking out onto the garden. We loved it all! You are just 5 mins walk (through Georgian streets and past historic houses) from the bridge and town centre - Jane Austen, Georgette Heyer, the 16th century Abbey and Roman baths etc. Very near one of the oldest working pharmacies in the UK and the gorgeous Holburne museum. We didn't have enough time to see and experience everything in Bath. We will certainly stay at The Pantry when we come again! Heartfelt thanks to Sally Ann and Liz for a memorable visit!

Our 4 night/5 day stay in Bath was fantastic, amazing, fun, adventurous, delicious & relaxing! Sallyann is a fantastic host! She greeted us, gave us a welcome of tea, coffee, muffins, & milk & oriented us to her wonderful home & property! Book this now if it’s available! The property is very quiet, extremely close to all the wonderful sights of Bath. Easy walking everywhere! We were driving a rental car & we parked directly across from the accommodations! Sallyann arranged a parking pass for street parking. Once parked we walked all over town! The property has a wonderful garden, very quiet and spacious! Bed was very comfortable with a wonderful down comforter-King or 2 twins! Fabulous well stocked kitchen with sharp knives! A very spacious sitting room & we enjoyed breakfast every morning in the relaxing sunroom! Shopping bags & grocery store a 6 minute walk, Pultney Arms pub close! Roman Baths & Abbey a short walk! Take the Abbey Tower Tour, very interesting! Enjoy an amazing afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent or an enjoyable & relaxing soak in 10,000 years old waters of Thermae Spa! We also walked the trail to Bathhampton & back! Enjoyed an amazing pizza on Friday between 5:30-7:30 just past the White Gate on the trail from Sydney Park. Sallyann knows the access point to the trail! We hiked some of the Bath Ridgeline Trail & the Bathwick Meadows! Enjoying Bathwick Meadows for Sunset can be amazing. Enjoy the Pantry! We will be back! Just the perfect place to stay in Bath. Quiet, tranquil and elegant logdings across from the green haven of Henrietta Park, but a five minute stroll to the centre of Georgian Bath and the Roman Baths. Bath has a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink, all in easy walking distance. The flat had every thing we needed to stay for a week in Bath. Our hosts were helpful, friendly, charmly, but unobtrusive. Parking was never a problem for us, even in July. We would love to stay again next time I "come home" to Somerset.Joanna and MickJuly 2026

VRBO, the address is 1 Henrietta Rd (not street) and the pretty picture that is posted is the entrance to the apartment at the back of the property, not what you see from the street. Otherwise, excellent location, right in the historic district, lots of shops, restaurants, things to do with in walking distance. Safe neighborhood. It is a newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment with all new appliances. Big fully stocked kitchen, nice size living room. Bedroom is cozy, twin beds. Bathroom is adequate. Every room is beautifully decorated with charm and warmth. There is a backyard that we had access to. Our hostess, Sallyann could not have been more accommodating to make our stay comfortable. She is friendly and has interesting conversations. Both my 17 yr old granddaughter and I loved our stay!!! Oh, and it is immaculate!!

Great hosts -good communication and recommendations for the area. Hosts provided welcome snacks upon our arrival which was unexpected and appreciated. Accommodations were clean, spacious, and we really enjoyed the observatory.
