Peaceful separate annexe with bed, kitchen, shower room and patio area.
Comfortable and well-kept studio with a view of the garden and the sound of the mill stream. It's a very peaceful spot. The sofa bed is comfortable and the kitchen area includes a two-ring hob and microwave / convection oven. No TV but the WiFi (or ethernet if prefered) is quick.
There's a dedicated patio area with seating for whenever the weather is good.
Our village has a shop and a pub, five minutes up the hill. There are plenty of good walks on the edge of Salisbury Plain. Stonehenge in one direction and Bath in the other are both about 45 minutes away. Longleat is 25 minutes away.
We're happy to pick up from Westbury Station. Let us know if you want information on local pubs and restaurants, attractions nearby or anything else. Weâd prefer check in between 15:00 and 21:00 and check out by 11:00, but let us know if you need to check in or out outside these times.
Our beagle barks to say hello, but is very friendly. Just don't leave biscuits around!
The property was exactly what we expected and the couple were excellent. Tim and Mia went above and beyond.
My only complaint was that the bed was very hard to lay on apart from that everything was lovely
Property was clean, the hosts were welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. It was exactly as advertised, quiet and conveniently located for the places and facilities we wanted to visit. Local pub was just a short walk and served good food. The property was easy to find given the scafolding currently around the main house, but may be more tricky to locate when this is removed. The bathroom door was squeaking meaning there was no way one of us could visit the bathroom in the night without waking the other, but we both loved our stay and are appreciative of Tim and Mia sharing their home with us.
Tim and Mia met in Jakarta - Mia is Indonesian - when we were both teachers there in the 1980s. Mia is passionate about plants but we have to admit the garden is still work in progress. Tim is now retired so more time to devote to the garden and a bit of cycling.
We have lived in Bratton for a few years now and love the village and its warm and friendly community. We moved from six miles away having lived in our previous home for 24 years. So we know the area fairly well. There are plentiful walks and bike rides on the doorstep.
We're on the northeastern edge of the village with the old mill next door. You can hear the mill stream which eventually becomes the Avon river flowing down to Bristol. We hope to make your stay as comfortable and carefree as possible.
