Felt like I was staying with family, only they weren't there. Very comfortable, spacious and good fun navigating, sharing the two bathrooms and kitchen. Had everything we needed, including grilling tools and a grill ready to go. Great location with easy back road access to campus. Price (well, it's all insane in State College for significant events) was excellent considering it equaled two hotel rooms. Hosts are excellent and responsive. We loved the place and being able to hang out all together in a sweet place.
It was our second stay here and I want to keep this house a secret but I will share that the very kind owners took time and care to see that we were comfortable, including installing an extra AC unit and provided access to an extra fridge /freezer. Plenty of room and very clean! So glad we found this place.
Excellent location. The office bedroom was only satisfactory. There was no A/C, the fan made a lot of noise and the bed for 2 wasnât very comfortable. We all appreciated the muffins and chips that were left for us.
We shared with two other couples and our recent alumni daughters. The place worked out great. The owners simply leave town for the weekend so you are renting someoneâs full time home. They left us a bag of ice in the freezer and fresh firewood for the fire pit. Good option for a football weekend.
Had a great weekend. Frank was super helpful and made âcheck in and check outâ so easy. Home was good location for us to visit at kids at Penn state and to go to the white out game. Downtown was an easy drive. We did not take full advantage of the home since we were âon the goâ most of the time. But if we had been around more there was plenty of space to hang out - large basement with a tv and nice back yard and deck. Our host generously left us some goodies. The comfortable beds and cozy home were a welcome place to have as âhome baseâ for a football weekend. Would stay here again for sure
This house is in a perfect location for Penn State Football games. The hosts were very communicative and the check in process was easy. The house is exactly like the pictures. This is my first time renting a house that is lived in. My comment would be that there's a lot of the hosts personal items in this house which was a little challenging. The front steps would be a challenge to navigate with anyone with mobility issues. The interior of the house is very dated.
The house was exactly as promised! We loved the location, easy access to get to football game. Great communication with owners. Loved the downstairs area.
Very cozy and clean! Plenty of room for our family. This was our first time staying at a rental weekend house and it was a great experience thanks to the hosts making sure we were comfortable.
The house was perfect for our family & friends for the weekend. There was plenty of room for everyone to sleep & check in/out were very easy. The host explained everything to us ahead of time so we knew what to expect. Overall, it was a great weekend.
Frank was very easy to work with and accommodated a 4 pm early check in. They have an empty fridge in the basement that was very convenient. No frills but clean beds and bathrooms, and kitchen with large table. Had a great time with the fire pit. Very reasonably priced for 8 adults for a football weekend. Would also work for families with children. One bedroom does not have a fan or AC, but manageable in the fall. Thank you for having us!
Frank and Jen are the sweetest people. The home was perfect and cozy and very nice for a family. The home felt like being at home, they are true family people. We will stay with them again!
My name is Frank Gallagher III and i am a true townie. I have lived in State College my whole life. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Jennifer Gallagher for 21 years. Jen and i can go to all the Penn State sporting activities any time, but it is great giving an opportunity for Alumni, Parents of students and families to come and enjoy it as much as we do. I have worked at Penn State for 16 years, Jen has been a physician recruiter for 25. 3 of our children have graduated from Penn State. I am a youth sports coach and have been coaching for over 25 years. We also have a furry member of our family and her name is Luna, she is 3 years old and loves to snuggle. We have 6 children and 5 grandchildren. Luckily all the grandchildren live within 5 miles of us.
Our neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. There is a walking path that weaves its way thru and around all the houses. It is a super safe area to walk your dog at night and to take your children on a stroll.
I think that one of the great thing about our house is that we have a wonderful fire pit in the backyard. We have had many get togethers and parties over the years and made a lot of memories. The tall oak trees in the back yard provide lovely shade in the late afternoon and evening and allow us to eat dinner on the deck.
