Enjoyed this great house, super clean, very open floor plan to enjoy time together. Location couldnât be better - a little off the path but only a few minutes from stadium and campus. A great spot for a visit or game day!
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. It was a perfect spot for our daughters graduation celebration. Nice space to visit, kitchen well appointed. Beds comfy and had everthing we needed. Loved the views and the proximity to the school. Wonderful visit.
Myself, my mom, my husband our 3 young children plus our Penn State student had a wonderful stay. The house was clean, comfortable and close to campus and dining options. In fact my littles ones had such a great time that they want to stay here every time we visit from now on!
Our stay at the House in the Trees was a pleasure. From the open layout to the location in the woods provided us with the a great time. The firepit by the flowing stream was an added bonus.
Cozy home in quiet neighborhood. Not really walkable to campus or football but not a problem if you know what you are doing. Good homebase for wind down, sleep, and showering after a full day or Penn State activities.
This is truly the house in the trees! Beautiful views out of the great room windows! A stream running through the property with a fire pit makes for great family gatherings! We were very comfortable here with lots of room, and things to do around State College! Walking distance to Slab Cabin park.
My group of 8 women stayed at the House in the Trees for a USBC Bowling tournament. The house was spotless, the grounds were beautiful. The listing is a little misleading--it says 2 king and 2 queen beds. There is one of each, and two twins. But we had no trouble with two of us sleeping on the HUGE sofa in the living room. There were plenty of linens and towels! We were SO close to where we needed and wanted to be, it was great! Definitely somewhere I would stay again, especially with better weather. We missed out on enjoying the patios.
Had a great stay at Lisaâs home! Check in was seamless and the house was nice! Though there was a pullout sleeper sofa and a queen bed advertised, though it was really just a regular sofa and a queen air mattress. Overall, it worked out and was super convenient to get to the game.
The home was was close enough to the stadium that several of my adult children walked home from the game. House was clean and accommodated our family of 8 comfortably. The hostess communicated promptly and check in was easy.
The home is very well stocked as we enjoyed cooking breakfast both mornings!! We enjoyed the welcome charcuterie board our first night that our host provided! We did have a difficult time trying to regulate the thermostats. Other then that the location and home were awesome!
This is our second time staying here. We love the location. There are great trails to walk our dog and you can walk to a few breweries. The setting is very private but there is some truck noise from Rt 322. We love the openness of the house and have enjoyed our stays there.
The House in the Trees was a perfect selection for our PSU Football weekend. The house has all of the amenities that you need and is roomy and comfortable! We were able to walk to the stadium - but if you wanted it is only a 5 minute Uber! I would stay here again for sure!
The home was fantastic: super close to College Ave and all of State College, everything you needed was provided, clean and tidy, and wonderful communications with the owner. Next visit with our daughter, we hope this home is available!
The property was as advertised. As multiple reviews had previously stated, there is significant truck traffic that can be heard from the house. But the house was lovely and we found a great park down the road. We also figured out how to walk the 2 miles to the stadium through the parks for the game. We enjoyed our stay.
We were in town for the Penn State v Illinois football game. The property is a short & easy drive to campus. The home is a well cared for 3 bedroom & is fully stocked with the essentials. It has a roomy family room with a comfy sectional sofa & a big TV. It was chilly so we didnât spend time outdoors but there is some distant road noise back behind the house. Would stay here again!
Road noise makes it difficult to enjoy deck and stream
The deck and deck furniture had a lot of outdoor debris
Outside landscaping has great potential but not maintained.
The indoors and amenities are very good.
Get rid of firepit and BBQ if they cannot be used.
The pictures on VRBO were very inviting. Upon arrival, it was difficult to find the rental due to hidden address. Luckily a neighbor came by and advised us. Then we did not receive the lock code and had to call the owner and VRBO for it. In the ad pictures a very nice patio area and furniture was shown. This is totally untrue. The patio was very dirty with no cushions just the bare metal frames. We did find the cushions in an outside storage box, but they were very dirty and did not use them. Overall very disappointed with the house for the price we had to pay for it.
We loved the view outside the large windows and all the amenities more than met our needs. My reason for not rating this a straight 5/5 was the property's proximity to a road with significant truck traffic. While the trees block the view of the traffic, there is significant road noise at all hours.
