Consider this house your home away from home while you visit Winfield. This adorable space features three cozy bedrooms, 2 with Queen beds one with a Twin Bed that expands to a King if needed. Perfect for a restful night. Guests can enjoy two bathrooms, both equipped with refreshing showers. The welcoming living room offers comfort and quiet. Full laundry facility is included. An office cove on the lower level so you can work as needed. Internet is provided. Fully warm for Winter warmth and comfort. Central Air for a nice comfortable Summer. Whether youâre unwinding after a day of exploring or spending time with loved ones, this awesome house has everything you need. We look forward to hosting you at our place.
Sit out on the patio at the end of the day to watch a glorious sunset. Sit in the sunroom with your morning coffee enjoying the birds that populate the feeders.
We are located 10 minutes from a great marketing area so no worry about getting groceries. We have an Aldi's as well as Strack & Van Tils plus alot of other options. Plenty of restaurants in the area. There are chains like McDonalds and Chick Filet as well as eclectic choices through out Crown Point, Winfield, Valparaiso and Chesterton, lots of choices. Historic downtown Crown Point offers outside venues and events almost every weekend in the Summer. It is also home to the Lake County Fairgrounds.
You are 10 minutes from a major highway, I -65. I-65 will lead you Northwest to Downtown Chicago with a driving time of just under one hour. It will also lead you Northeast to the Iconic Indiana Dunes and beautiful Lake Michigan with a drive time of just over 30 minutes.
This home was built in 1911. It is an original Sears Roebuck house purchased from the catalog and brought in on a train. The train track ran behind the house and now it is a beautiful rustic walking trail full of flowers and berries in season as well as nature in all directions. The property is 2.5 acres with another 2.5 acres of access to wilderness. It is absolutely quaint and lovely, you will not want to leave.

I am ready to please our guests. Do you need more towels? Let me know. Do you need more K cups, I'm on it. I really love this home, it is so peaceful and yet accessible to everywhere in our area, Chicago, the Indiana Dunes, walking trails. It is lovely.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
The area is great, nice people. I fell in love with the property itself. The walking trails, the apple trees, the fresh berries in all directions. It is a beautiful place.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
This property is truly unique. The house was built in 1917 by the Uncle of the farmer that lives across the street. We are only the fourth owners. It is a Sears house so literally it was ordered out of a Sears & Roebuck catalog and brought in on a train car that used to run on the backside of the property. It has been updated right along but it still has a charm to it that can only be explained by saying it was built at the beginning of the 20th Century. The land is rolling and the nature trail behind the house is really a gift. You will find treats on the kitchen counter when you get to the house and some of the ingredients in those treats are sourced right here. Apples, Walnuts, Pecans, Raspberries, Blackberries, Black Raspberries and more... It is a privilege to be a steward of this place and we invite you to steward with us as you VRBO.
