A hidden haven

Jennifer and Eric provided a beautiful apartment and every consideration for the guest had been thought of. The decor and high end details were noticed and absolutely loved our stay here. When coming to Newcastle again, I will definitely reach out to stay again....loved Excelsior! A must do when in Merewether.

Stunning!

Beautifully decorated, wth attention to detail in every space! We were very happy with the amenities and the personal touches of staple groceries & extras to make our stay all the more welcoming and enjoyable. The location was prime, close to beaches, great restaurant options and endless sources of entertainment within the Newcastle area. Accomodation in Newcastle

We stayed here for five nights and could not fault a thing! It was exceptionally clean and everything is of top quality. We had everything we could need for our stay, even an umbrella for the one rainy day. All appliances are high quality. It was lovely to have an ironing board and iron which I would be happy to use at home! Our hosts were friendly and very helpful. Even though this property only has one bathroom the layout is perfect with separate shower/bath, toilet and a double vanity so we could all get ready for our evenings out without waiting. Perfect place to stay, thank you 😊

Very nice

Stayed here with my daughter after a visit to Linguard Private Hospital. Very convenient to hospital and everything we needed. Beautifully appointed unit, with the owner supplying lots of extras - which were much appreciated. Amazing bathroom and large bedrooms. Kitchenette is tiny, but that's ok as there are many food options around. Owners live downstairs and are v friendly.

Exquisite Merewether retreat

We feel very lucky to have been able to spend the weekend in Merewether, calling such a gorgeous apartment home. We reunited with a treasured family member and the space was perfect to share. Wonderful touches of luxury much appreciated. Our hosts thought of everything & gave us all the space we needed. Would be delighted to stay again, if our schedules allow.

So Amazing

We absolutely loved our weekend at Excelsior. The apartment was fantastic and had so many creature comforts. Bedding was oh so fresh and comfy and everything was gorgeous right down to the handwash - Jenny has done an amazing job! Oh and did I mention short walk to beach, cafes, newsagent, bakery and restaurants. Perfect!

Contemporary well equipped property

This is a very contemporary two bedroom apartment on the top floor of Jenny and Erics house. It is easily accessible through their side gate and up a flight of stairs. The apartment was immaculate and Jenny had thought of everything required including hairdryer and iron. There was yogurt and biscuits in the fridge and T2 tea and coffee in the cupboard. The beds were comfortable and the living area had a kitchenette with microwave. The location was an easy walk to the beach and a short drive to Darcy St and other locations in Newcastle. It was quiet at night but the neighbours small dog does get up around 6.30 in the morning. The apartment has an outlook to the park. Very comfortable place with friendly but not intrusive hosts.

The peace and comfort that we were desperately seeking was found as we walked in the door.

We arrived a lot later than planned and were met by Jenny's husband who was so warm and friendly, adding to my sense of relief as they'd waited for us to arrive. I walked in and sat down immediately feeling at home. The release of pressure from the day was instantly felt. We felt like royalty in our 6+ star accomodation. It was just as it had been described but being there it was even better than expected. Enough room for us all to be together to watch a movie and enough to relax alone. The double outlook in the top bedroom gave such a beautiful ambiance. I was happy to just stop and be and take my time. I never felt the need to get out because of being confined or uncomfortable, where l have at other high end accomodation. I felt completely at home. There was not a thing not thought of, which gave me the special feeling of being thought of. To not worry about stopping for milk etc, which we always have to do, was such a big thing for me. I cannot recommend Merewether Excelsior highly enough and will not be looking elsewere in the future. Thankyou so much Jenny and Eric. My only regret was having to leave. Cannot wait for our next visit.

Excellent family stay near the beach in Newcastle/Merewether

Guest house is very nicely appointed and well located with nice welcome gifts in the bar fridge on arrival. The kitchenette is exactly that - we would make a cooked breakfast but it would be harder to prepare full meals. Location is 3 blocks from Merewether beach and baths, an easy walk. The owners are wonderful and thoughtful - they responded to every question and request during our stay. The washer/dryer was handy during our son’s cricket tournament. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great location, close to everything. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and has really beaut useful extras / treats in the fridge. Everything you need is provided, plus some... Lovely quite spot that is central to everything Newcastle has to offer. The hosts are welcoming and help to get you set then are invisible... Truly a Great Experience
