À propos de cet hĂ©bergement

Homey, whimsical, dog-friendly, snow forecasted!

Adorable 1970s cabin located in Pine Mountain Club, CA nestled in the Los Padres National Forest just off the 5 freeway.

Lots of art and fun decor. FUNctional, not fancy. Experience the four seasons, not THE Four Seasons! Let the world fall away as you step into our whimsical, art-filled, Alice in Wonderland inspired cabin thoughtfully designed for relaxation & inspiration.

đŸȘŸDouble-height windows open to a protected woodland through which you can enjoy both the sunrise and the moonrise. Take in sunrise and sunset on two large decks which face east and west. 🌄

The lot is almost flat with only 4 steps up to the front door so it's easy to unload your car. Quiet, secluded cul-de-sac perfect for sledding or riding a bike.

Each floor has a bedroom/bath for privacy. Eco-friendly: 100% Cotton sheets and towels. Non-toxic products. A real, wood-burning fireplace. Kid & Dog-friendly. Two doggy maximum.

Perfect for family vacations and solo retreats. No smoking/vaping/e-cigarettes inside or smoking outside (town ordinance). Fully enclosed back deck great for doggies. Comfortably sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids, we also have a Pack and Play.

We put “accommodates 6” in case you have a baby co-sleeping or kiddos sharing a bunk. **It can not accommodate six adults.**

Short 3-minute drive or 12-minute walk to the center of town with a legit General Store, adorable shops and eateries, and the clubhouse and all its amenities.

QUICK INFO

This is our family's refuge and it has been outfitted with things we love that we hope you'll enjoy. Just like home, the sheets and towels are 100% cotton, the kitchen implements are non-toxic, as are the cleaning products which are also fragrance-free.

Regarding costs: We automatically apply discounts at 3, 7, 10, and 14 days, $95 cleaning fee and 6% TOT tax we pay to Kern County on anything charged (them's the rules!)

🔋No need for electric vehicle range anxiety. We leave LA with a full battery and return home with 30% left. Wind can affect range. There's a NACS-compatible TESLA stations (dozens of chargers), just off the Frazier Mountain off-ramp, 51526 Ralphs Ranch Rd, 93243

đŸ”ïžâ›“ïžIf you are traveling when there's snow, bring chains. Z cables are super easy to install.

🛜High Speed internet: 400mbs (you only need 100 to video conference while streaming a movie on another device...not that you do that...) Weather can knock it out, but it's usually back up quickly.

♚We have installed a new, WiFi-enabled heater so we can pre-heat the cabin for you! Once you are there you can pop-on the wall heaters which heat the space up quickly.

The grounds around our cabin are often moist and have lots of small, sharp oak leaves that are very pointy. To save your feet, our cabin is shoes off so please bring thick socks with traction or house slippers. There are hooks with rags by both doors so you can wipe your doggie’s paws.đŸŸÂ

đŸŒČTREES galore! The property is a quarter acre full of mature pine and oak trees. What comes with tree? Sap (only sometimes) and pine cones (look out below!). There are a couple of spots you can park your car that are not DIRECTLY under a tree.

đŸȘšThe property has some large rocks. Park to the left of the yellow poles in order to avoid them if there is snow on the ground. Also, take a light with you if you are walking around outside in the dark.

🛁FULL BATHROOM: FUNctional, not fancy

Was the plumber drunk? You decide. The hot water faucet on the tub/shower turns the wrong wayđŸ€·

Non-toxic, fragrance free hair and body products Hairdryer Bright and freshly painted a lovely shade of yellow, so it's got that going for it!

Low counter so the kiddos can get in on the cooking fun! A set of plastic plates and cups (for kiddos or whomever!)

đŸœïžDINING ROOM

Wooden toolbox with colored pencils, watercolor pencils, and pencil pencils to draw, dream, or plan your next adventure!

đŸ›‹ïžLIVING ROOM

Soaring, 2-story windows that bring the forest in. In the morning, there's so much sun here, Edward Cullen would be glowing like the top of the Empire State💎.

At night, you can sometimes watch the moon rise from the couch.

Wood-burning fireplace with a blower that recirculates the heat back to you while you still get to enjoy the crackle and glow of a fire! đŸ”„ I can put you in touch with someone who will deliver firewood for you. It’s also for sale at the general store.

BOOKING WITH US MEANS YOU'VE READ AND AGREED THAT, you release us of all liability related to any injury or property damage you may incur during your stay. You also understand that:

1. This is not an investment property, it's our home. We love the Haven and everything in it! We want you to have a magical time and appreciate you treating this sanctuary with respect. We take video footage before and after every visit and there are four cameras on the exterior, so we will know if anything is broken or goes missing, which you will be charged for. Please no doggos on the beds.

2. If you need to chop wood, please do it outside, off the decks so as not to damage anything. You will need your own wood chopping implement.

3. Our cabin is shoe-free. Please bring socks or slippers to wear indoors.

4. PMC uses septic tanks. Only use provided chlorine-free toilet paper. Do not use wipes of any kind.

5. Summer time: If you plan to use the pool, please read the pool rules before going.

6. Be aware that this cabin is nestled in a forest. It is not "convenient". You will experience the four seasons, not THE Four Seasons. Unlike the city where your power or internet never go out, they may go out up here! It usually doesn't last long, and that's part of the joy. Life is way slower up here. Just go with the flow. Weather happens. Wildlife happens. This is a wild place where the animals call home and you are the visitor. Enjoy the change! 7. Be Bear Aware! Wildlife is wonderful! The mountains of PMC are home to many black bears (which can be black or brown), bobcats, mountain lions, birds, raccoons, the fattest squirrels you’ve ever seen, as well as the smallest chipmunks, and deer to name a few. It is important to keep wildlife, wild. This means DO NOT directly/indirectly feed wildlife. Do not leave food or trash outside. Do not throw a hot dog into the woods. Do not empty pasta water outside. Do not empty half-filled soda cans onto the dirt. Bears can smell food over TWO miles away! We have seen ALL of these wildlife (except mountain lions and deer) on our property. Here are some tips: -No food, food trash, or scented items in your car. NONE. No gum, flavored lip gloss, empty potato chip bags. Bears will break into your car at the slightest scent of anything that smells like food. -Lock your car doors and close your windows (bears can open unlocked cars). -No unattended food or trash outside. -Clean the BBQ if you use it. -Wash all dishes and remove trash/food when you leave.

8. Dress and hydrate appropriately! Layer up. Even inside the cabin, you might want to wear a sweater. Since the cabin is shoes-off, bring thick socks with traction on them or house slippers. It is very dry up here. You will need good moisturizers and you need to drink more water than usual.

9. Do not unplug anything in the front of the house in order to plug in your electric car charger. There is a heater that keeps the pipes from freezing that is plugged in and can not be removed.

10. Pine Mountain Club is a tight-knit community. We are an HOA so there are rules to maintain the peaceful, slightly-wild vibe we all love. People value their privacy and quiet. Breaking any town ordinance can result in fines and the 24-hour patrol shows up FAST! Some of the ordinances include no filming, no parties, no loud noises, quiet hours from 10pm - 8am, no open fires, no weapons, pets must be leashed. Our neighbors will call us if any rules have been broken and no money will be refunded if you are asked to leave.

11. Only registered guests are allowed on the property. We require the names of all guests over 18.
