As the sun sets and the stars emerge, the tranquility of the desert surrounds you, with gentle breezes and the distant call of coyotes. Whether you're soaking in the quietude or sharing a glass of wine under the night sky, Moonlight Mesa is a sanctuary of calm and serenity.

The Space:
During the day, immerse yourself in the myriad of activities our desert oasis has to offer. Cool off from the desert heat with a refreshing dip in the cowboy tub soaking pool or lounge in the hammocks with a good book as the gentle sway lulls you into relaxation. As evening approaches, gather around the gas fire pit for warm conversations and a glass of wine, or challenge your friends to a game of giant Jenga under the vast open sky. End your night on the cozy daybed, where you can stargaze and marvel at the Milky Way in all its glory or unwind in the saltwater hot tub as the moon rises, casting its silver light over the serene landscape.

-Living Area-
The open living space is designed for comfort and style. Have a movie night on the smart TV, enjoy your favorite vinyl records on the sound system, or unwind with a good book. The large windows let in plenty of natural light, while the half bathroom off the living room adds convenience for your group. For larger groups, the sofa folds out into a sofa bed for extra sleeping space.

The fully stocked modern kitchen has everything you need to prepare gourmet meals. With stainless steel appliances, ample counter space, and all the essential cookware, you’ll feel right at home. The primary bedroom features a plush king bed, a smart TV, a large walk-in closet, sliding glass doors to the front patio, and an ensuite bathroom for ultimate privacy. The second bedroom also has a king bed and its own ensuite bathroom, a closet off the bathroom, and a smart TV and private workspace. Each bathroom is equipped with modern fixtures and thoughtful touches to make your stay enjoyable.

Step outside to discover the true magic of Moonlight Mesa. The large covered porch offers a saltwater hot tub, perfect for soaking under the stars, as well as two hanging chairs where you can unwind with a book or a glass of wine. Fire up the gas BBQ for a delicious meal, then gather around the gas fire pit in the conversation area for enjoy sunrises and sunsets. Just off the porch, cool off after a day of adventuring in the cowboy tub soaking pool or relax on the daybed, ideal for stargazing. The backyard also features outdoor games like giant Jenga and hammocks for ultimate relaxation.

Guest Access:
The entire property is yours to enjoy! Please note that there is a closet in the kitchen being used for storage for supplies for the rental that is locked to guests.

Moonlight Mesa is situated in North Joshua Tree in the Hidden River neighborhood, just 12 minutes from the shops and restaurants of downtown Joshua Tree. All homes in this area are on acreage, giving guests wide open space and privacy.

Getting Around:
A personal vehicle is necessary to get around in this area - rideshare apps are not guaranteed.

Moonlight Mesa is in a remote location, and the last 1.5 miles are dirt roads, so please take it slow. The dirt roads are maintained, and a four-wheel drive car is not necessary, but please note that the dirt roads may have ruts, particularly after rainstorms.

Other Things to Note:
-Pool and Hot Tub Service-
The cowboy pool and hot tub are serviced Monday and Thursday, approximately between 11am and 4pm. Please note that these times are estimates and may change slightly due to our technician's busy schedule. He will not approach the house but will go directly through to the backyard.

Cowboy Tub Availability:
The cowboy tub is drained and unavailable for guest use during winter months (November - March) to prevent the filter from freezing and breaking.

-Dogs-
We welcome your dogs! There is a $100 per dog per stay fee, limit of 2 dogs maximum. Please note on your reservation if you are bringing dog(s) and how many, and we will adjust the price accordingly. There is an unauthorized pet fee of $500. Please use the provided dog sheets before allowing your dogs on any furniture. Cats and other pets are not allowed.

-Desert Wildlife & Safety Tips-
The desert landscape is teeming with wildlife and natural beauty, offering a unique connection to nature, but it’s important to be mindful of the creatures and plants that call this area home. Guests may encounter a variety of wildlife during their stay, and while direct encounters with dangerous animals like coyotes, snakes, scorpions, bobcats, mountain lions and other desert dwellers are rare, it is important to be aware of your surroundings and to keep a safe distance from these creatures when spotted. Additionally, the desert is dotted with sharp cacti and other spiky plants. For your safety, always supervise children, pets, ESAs, and service animals while outdoors. Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and be watched closely while outdoors, as they can wander into potentially unsafe situations with wildlife or plants. By booking this property, guests acknowledge the potential for wildlife encounters and assume responsibility for their safety and the safety of their group. By respecting the local environment and staying aware, you can fully enjoy the magic of the desert.

-Security Camera-
There is a security camera mounted next to the front door in order to monitor the quantity of people and cars on the property, so we may ensure compliance with local ordinances. There are no security cameras in any private areas of the home.
