Sea Dream 440: Lagoon-front home w/private dock

New in our program, this home has many great reviews from past guests.

Sea Dream is a water lover's paradise! Situated on a private lagoon that leads directly to the sound, offering kayakers, windsurfers, paddle boarders, and fishermen an excellent home base location! The first living level features a conveniently located laundry area and access to the sound-facing deck with direct access to the backyard.

At the top of the stairs on the second level, you will find a bright, airy great room with high ceilings, comfy furnishings, and superb views of the lagoon and sound. The well-equipped kitchen is conveniently located close to the dining area. The screened porch and sundeck are ideal places to end your day as you relax and watch the sunset. Outside amenities include an outdoor shower, charcoal grill a carport, a grassy yard, and a walkway to a small boat dock newly rebuilt for the 2023 season.

One of the bedrooms has a pyramid bunk bed, perfect for the kids. The primary bedroom has a full private bathroom with a jetted tub, a TV, and deck access!

Great location

We loved the easy walk to the wide North Avon beach. Parking was limited, the dock area was overgrown and needs updating.

The lagoon and new dock are pretty. And the house is more or less serviceable.

Adorable home on the basin!

The house was very tidy. Everything was in working order. The view from all the decks over the basin was so nice. My son had his kayak out days and evenings. Vacasa was easy to rent from as always.

My family and I had a great time. We enjoyed the homey atmosphere, nice neighborhood with friendly people in the area. Had a great time walking to the beaches and DQ. I would so recommend this to any family that is looking for great family time and doesn't require all the glitz and glamor. I will return

Property has one serious problem, ceiling fans are quite noisy! It gets hot in the summer and the fans are essential.

Dream Vacation

Location was central to shops, restaurants and the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in good condition. Liked the dock on the water. Located in a nice neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Could see the sound from the house. Liked being able to see wildlife. Liked that linens and towels were provided.

Sea Dream

The house was a lad older but was still amazing. It sits off the lagoon in Avon and is right of highway 12. The kids loved the Dairy Queen being a short walk from the house, we went almost every night. The storage closet had some beach chairs and stuff to use that helped with trips out to the ocean. We rented some kayaks for the week and had a blast paddling around the lagoon and out onto the sound for sunsets. Highly recommend this house for smaller families!

This home had great views, fantastic kitchen ware pots/pans for cooking. The screen porch with hot tub was very nice and relaxing. Rooms were perfect size. And books/puzzles were great as well. Vacation gear provided made it AMAZING! The only thing lacking was a small dock for crabbing. (not a complaint, just a suggestion) Over all a fabulous house and location! Great location but in desperate need of basic maintenance.

The screened in porch didn't have any screen on the door and the door was broken. The solution by the management company was to remove the entire door and not replace it. Really didn't solve any issue. The dock has numerous boards that are not screwed down and move under foot. Not a safe environment for people to walk. the outdoor seating left a lot to be desired as well.

Service not great! House was great

We booked this home because it had the deck access and the deck was roped off and we could not use it. I was not told about this issue and it was one of the reasons we booked this house. Also, when we arrived at 8 p.m. the house was a MESS. There was food and dirt/sand everywhere, beds were not made and there was a dirty hamper of towels left. Our friends booked in Salvo this same week and unfortunately experienced the same issues and more.. It makes me sad because our first experience in 2021 with Outer Banks Reality was GREAT, which is why I booked again. Not sure that we will book with Vacasa for next year. I hope this feedback helps. Nice location but disappointing experience

We booked this sweet home for fishing and kayaking as described in property details, we arrived to an unusable dock. We had kayaks and fishing gear which were useless. Any positive remarks about this house were totally negated by the fact that it was not as advertised and we should have been given this information prior to arrival and the opportunity to look for a home with a working dock. I believe both the owner and property manager (Vacasa) knew of the issue as the neighbor informed us the owner will attempt repairs this fall. I reported the issue immediately to Vacasa, no attempt was made to salvage what was supposed to be a fishing/kayaking off our own dock vacation.

D is for DISAPPOINTING

I would give our stay at Sea Dream 440 a D… for Disappointing. We rented a VACASA property. The keyless entry code didn't work upon arrival. I spoke with multiple representatives to gain entry. I reported issues that I was told a local rep would address, but did not. There were many issues too multiple to mention. I sent a long review to VACASA, but was unable to put my original review into this limited forum. We never encountered problems with a VRBO property. This company did not live up to VRBO's excellent standards. I would not use VACASA again.

RENTER BEWARE NOT AS PICTURED

I was so excited to spend a week in this house full of fishing and kayaking with my kids, being in a “dead end” meant my kids could safely kayak around while I sat on the dock watching them. This couldn’t be anymore untrue, the dock is completely broken and unsafe to stand on meaning no sitting out there or hanging out by the water. We rented a kayak and couldn’t even use it fully due to the dock! I am so disappointed because my trip that should have been a week of sitting on the dock and relaxing was not that! Also when we arrived most of the lightbulbs in the house were out needing to be replaced and the knob in the master shower to turn the water on and off was broken and kept falling off. I spoke to the women at the rental office and was promised a refund of a portion of my payments it is now a month later and I still have not received it nor have I received a phone call back.
