The Space:
With Upper King Street's fantastic dining and nightlife only one block away, this home is ideally located for your next couples' trip or getaway with friends near the heart of downtown Charleston. This home is wonderfully positioned on a cobblestone alley in the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood of Charleston, so you can leave your car in the provided off-street parking space and easily get around on foot. Head one block east to enjoy some of Charleston's best dining and nightlife - including The Ordinary - on King Street, or stroll southward on King to pass by Marion Square and a wealth of shops, restaurants, galleries, and other attractions on your way downtown. Liberty Square, where you can hop on board a boat to Fort Sumter, is one mile east, while the Historic Charleston City Market is one mile southeast.

Spacious yet cozy, modern yet charming, this home is full of high ceilings, hardwood floors, and thoughtful updates such as stainless steel kitchen appliances, a private washer/dryer, and central air-conditioning. The location was good but the entrance into the alley was very narrow, and it was nearly impossible for us to try to park our Palisade SUV. The Alley was also very hard to walk on it was old brick that was EXTREAMLY uneven. The kitchen was OK not great. The steps leading to upstairs were very narrow and the landings on each floor were difficult to maneuver because they were 2 different levels a step up down and up to get to the bathroom. The banisters were very wobbly heading up the steps from the living room. The vent in the living room under the steps was approx. 2x3 feet and was covered in dirt. I had to request new sheets after our 1st night as the y felt like I was sleeping on sandpaper, they were so pilled up and should have never been used. On a positive note, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were good. Bottom line there are many rentals available in Charleston I would not choose this place if I were you.

Drive in to property was narrow and cobblestone terrible to walk on. Driveway had horrible overgrowth. Last two nights we saw large bugs and not all the rooms we dusted. Very disappointing

Amazing family stay

We lived the place! Room for everyone to spread out and so close to everything. The only challenges are parking is small so no big vehicles and there’s no spot to enjoy the outside weather. We plus totally go back though!! Super cute area.

Property had a great location to king street parking was a nightmare they failed to mention the tight parking spot I have a mid sized suv and it barley fit and getting out of the spot if the neighbors were home was a challenge house was very clean but needs a paint job

Holiday getaway

We loved our stay in Charleston. This house was a hidden gem, tucked off the main road but just a few minutes walk to everything King Street has to offer. Spacious and comfortable rooms, a well-equipped kitchen, and cozy kitchen/living spaces. Highly recommend, epsecially if you want the convenience of downtown with a little more character.

Had to be Relocated

My family and I were so excited to stay here. It was the perfect location, close to King St. I had debated wheter or not to rent a car, but I was so grateful I did because 23 minutes before we were due to check-in, and only after I had reached out to see if we could check in a little early, I was notified that we would be relocated to a house in a different part of town. I had to call a support line that then worked on trying to find another house. I was so glad I did rent a car and not rely on ride shares because the other house was far from my original location. The location I had chosen specifially for the things I wanted to do during this trip. There was something wrong with the air conditioner

Last Concert for Sumner!!

Me n my husband and our 3 kids n my husband's friend of 20 years stayed at this cool house in downtown Charleston!! There were awesome shopping and great food only a couple blocks away!! There was a great market called "College Market" that was a short walk away that had everything we needed!! There was an amazing Pizza restaurant that had the biggest pizza i had ever seen in my life n and so delicious!! 3 adults and 3 kids ate til we couldnt eat anymore n we still had left over lol!! The rooms were great size and the bathrooms were nice and big n clean n so was the kitchen!!! We enjoyed staying there and would definitely stay there again!!! Thank you for an amazing experience of Charleston!!!👍😀

Bad Experience

We have stayed at over 15 VRBO’s in the past and this was by far, the worst we’ve ever stayed at. This is a VERY old house although the pics don’t look it. We had multiple issues: (1) The description said it has A/C, but it doesn’t work very well at all. It was only 68° outside and it would not get below 75° on the main floor at 10pm. The bedrooms are on the 2nd & 3rd floors and I can only guess it was 78° to 80+° . (2) We did not cook at all while there so we had no crumbs, etc. We saw TWO giant cockroaches in the kitchen. (3) The electrical outlets in the bathroom on the 3rd floor didn’t work. (4) Bring your own laundry soap if you want to use the washer (5) The pictures of the outside are not at all what this looks like. There are large, overgrown bushes which make parking difficult. Ended up having to pay $50 to park overnight down the street. I had the low rating on communication because although we received many text messages before and during our stay, I believe it was all AI driven. We contacted the owners on multiple phone numbers we had been texted from regarding the A/C problem and kept getting canned answers, but no problem solving. We did get a text the day we checked out saying they were sorry about the A/C and stating we had been texting the property management group which was not staffed at 10pm. However, I had also texted THAT number that was texting me right then stating they were sorry. They did refund 15% of our VRBO cost due to the A/C issue.

Great location for downtown

This house was great for our family to stay in while visiting Charlestown. It was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookwear and utensils. Beds were all comfy. Washer and dryer worked well. We loved the location - it was a very short walk to a breakfast/bagel shop around the corner, as wrll as there were plenty of restaurants and shops just a few blocks away on King Street. The visitors center was also easy to walk to, and from there we'd catch the free downtown trolley to get to all the places the kids wanted to see. I will add that while there is an off street parking space (which was a great thing!), it was very tricky and difficult to get in and out of because we have a large vehicle since there's 7 of us (Expedition Max); I think the parking would be non-issue at all for a normal sized vehicle; it definitely would not accomodate a larger vehicle such as a passenger van, fyi. We would definitely stay there again!
