Summary:
Lake Folly

The Space:
One of the most unique homes you can find on Folly Beach, this retreat sits on a private nature lot that boasts a private salt lake, dock, and over an acre of land! Don't worry about a long commute to the beach, as the beach access path is less than a block away for the surfers to get their fill of The Washout', a favorite local surfing spot. When you want to get a bit of fresh air and sunshine at home base, there is a large deck on the back of the home which also has a spiral staircase going up to a second deck landing. The deck right off of the living room and kitchen has a large custom-made picnic table that will seat all of your guests and overlooks the lake, making it a great spot for dining alfresco! The second-floor deck area has a love seat and chairs which usually has a nice breeze and is a great place for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Not to mention, there are two outdoor showers and a gas grill to rinse off sandy toes or host a cookout in the fresh air.

Inside, you will find the newly renovated interior boasting beachy decor, plush furnishings, and a gourmet kitchen equipped with a gas range, wonderful views of the lake, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. There will be no need to be disconnected on this trip either with free high-speed WiFi that is ready to assist in streaming favorite movies or allowing guests to attend Zoom meetings. When it is time to hit the hay, each of the bedrooms promises a serene night's rest.

We visited the home for Thanksgiving with family members converging from Indiana, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The home is beautiful and the management was very welcoming. They even had extra kitchen amenities for Thanksgiving dinner for us, which was very appropriated.We really loved the views, the quality of the bedrooms, kitchen (that view?), bathrooms (each bedroom having their own full bath!). We absolutely loved our stay and the area. We are already planning a return visit.

This place had absolutely everything we could have needed. The pond was wonderful, the super short walk to the beach, the observation deck with a view of the ocean and all the birds, the covered dining area outside the living room, bathrooms for every bedroom, full kitchen with plenty of room for multiple people to roam around, crock pot, food processor... And the sunset views were so beautiful!

Awesome place!

The yard and pond provide a beautiful view and a fun place for kids to run around. It was a great spot for people of all ages.

So beautiful!

We loved Lake Folly! The house well appointed and is a short block from the beach and has incredible views from the crow's nest. Our favorite thing was seeing all the birds on the lake: egrets, Great Blue Herons, and even a bald eagle! We have been coming to Folly for 15 years, and this was our favorite spot. We would love to stay again!

Relaxing Beach Stay

The property was amazing! The views from the decks, the bunk beds for our boys, and the overall layout of the house. The kitchen was big and fully stocked and I loved the bath toiletries. Thanks. We had a wonderful stay and the beach access was right across the street- very convenient.

Great house in a great location.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lake Folly. The house was clean and well stocked with essentials - much more than the listing advertised. Location was excellent. Private but close to the beach. And the deck off the living room was perfect for morning coffee and afternoon drinks. Many beautiful birds and lots of space for our dog!l to roam. Only suggestion would be to install a ceiling fan on that back deck to keep the bugs away.

Lake Folly October Stay

Lake Folly is a very nice rental property. Our family truly enjoyed our stay at the house. It is a great location and access to the beach, as well as to the local eateries.

Spring Break trip

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Folly Beach in this home! It was very clean when we checked in and the location was fantastic! So close to the beach! I love that dogs are allowed! The extra space the pond area provides is a bonus. Well stocked kitchen and nice linens. I would definitely recommend this property! Excellent communication as well. Thank you!

Short walk to beach. 4 males ages 5-45 loved fishing off the dock into large pond. Huge kitchen, well furnished to share meal prep. (Got fresh fish at Crosby's one night, yum!) 35 min. drive to Charleston.4 bedrooms, each with own bath, worked for 3 boys, 1 teen girl and 2 couples. Multi-level home with 3 levels of decks to spread out for quiet or group time. Even the 5 year old loved the gigantic window view in the kitchen!! 8 of us enjoyed no "close by" high-.rise condos, as it's in a neighborhood. Walking the town of Folly Beach was enjoyable. Many grocery stores a short drive away.

Great place for family and friends!

This was the perfect rental for my family of 8 - age range from 3 to 63, and our dog.The property was well maintained, and completely stocked with everything you could want. Perfectly outfitted kitchen with a killer view of the private - yes I said privet - lake. We watched herons and spoonbills feed daily from the windows and the spacious deck.That deck was 3 stories and you got a great view of the ocean and killer sunrises and sunsets from the top!All that plus the beach is just a couple hundred yards away!We loved this property and will gladly stay there again in the future.

House wasn't as clean as we expected, lots of dog hair on floor inside and on rugs on outside porch. Was told there was a fenced in area - as we travelled with our pup. There was not. Other little things, but the Vacasa people were very attentive and fixed things that they could. It was very close to beach.

Great spot for family gathering

We loved the view of the pond from the kitchen and the variety of egrets, herons, and ducks. It was super convenient that every bedroom had its own bathroom and the hosts were generous with soaps and toiletries, which was much appreciated. We made good use of the ping pong table downstairs, and our only complaint was that the door to the kids’ bathroom (by the bunk room) was missing a part and would not close securely. We informed the hosts but they did not make an attempt to repair it (granted, we were there during the Christmas holiday).great house and we would come back.

Excellent House

Our family gathered to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. The house was great. Loved the fact that every bedroom had an on suite bathroom. We hired a private chef for his birthday dinner and the kitchen was more than adequate! We really enjoyed the view from the kitchen and the porch. We could hear the ocean and the walk to the beach was easy for our four year old granddaughter. We would not hesitate to rent this property again!

Perfection!

We had to most incredible stay in early August of 2022. The location is perfection, the house beautiful and perfectly laid out and situated for our family of 5 kids and 4 adults. We had one small challenge with the outdoor shower and the property management company was prompt and wonderful. We honestly cannot say enough... thank you so much for yet another beautiful week at Folly Beach!

Three Generations of Fun in the Sun

Everything was excellent. Would book again when we have a group for Folly Beach. Only wish I had known that crook pot was available. Had asked but told it wasn’t. Kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Not miss matched, it was organized and convenient to have several in kitchen at the same time.

Wedding trip

We drove from ND to attend our son's wedding on a cruise ship. The house worked well for us with a great location close to the beach. The house was well stocked, but having to rent a portable crib/playpen was very expensive. The house also could have been cleaner. I spilled water when we got there and when I wiped it up the paper towel was very dirty. I then ran a swiffer over the floor and it was kind of disgusting. I was glad that my grandkids weren't there yet. The house was also hard to find when we arrived in the dark-no markings or address and the back door off the deck was unlocked. Otherwise, the house worked well for us.
