Relaxing Family Vacay

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The bedrooms are spacious and we had tons of room for kids to play. Beautiful scenery and perfect location very close to town.

Beautiful mountain home, great for a large group

We rented the home for a family reunion for 4 days in the early summer. The home is perfect for a large group, with two large living rooms, a pool table, a hot tub, and a gaming area. We were able to walk back and forth to town (it’s a couple miles, but a beautiful hike) and also enjoyed the immediate surroundings. The home has two refrigerators, two coffee makers, two kitchen trash cans, and two ovens, which are super handy with a large group. We had all the amenities like towels for the hot tub, a hair dryer, and nearly every kitchen gadget you can think of. Highly recommend this property for your next family reunion!

House is beautiful; however, there were some maintenance and cleanliness issues. Doors on main level were hard to open/close and lock/unlock. There were mouse droppings in kitchen drawers and in master bathroom drawers on the main level.

Only downside could be that you need a car. The ski in / out is not really true. You really need a car. We were lucky that one of the families rented a car for the whole stay because the husband doesn’t ski. Walking with skis and boots to and from the bus was not a hit with kids. To far. So the car was perfect.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was just what we were looking for. A spacious first floor for everyone to be able to eat together, and a finished basement with a pool table, and large tv area, (which we were so busy it never got turned on!). Outside patio was so much fun to sit around in the evenings! The kitchen was amazing, very well stocked to cook just about anything you wanted. We did white water rafting, rented razors to drive trails up a mountain, hiked up the ski hills, walked into Breckinridge to shop and have dinner, and drove to beaver creek for Fourth of July festival. Every day was an adventure! We had one very small maintenance issue, which was fixed within a couple hours of our text to them.

Never again

I’ve stayed at many VRBO and other BNB properties. I have never seen such an unclean house. Hair all in the tubs and on shower walls, dirty rags from previous guests left hanging on fixtures. Hair found between the sheets. Although the heat in the house was set to 60 degrees, the radiant heat in the floors was so hot that it made it unbearable at close to 80 degrees, my kids were feeling sick. When I called maintenance, I was told to turn it down more and open windows. If this was happening to mine, I would want to know immediately.

OK but not great

The layout of the house was nice. Tons of space. The location was good. You are higher up on the mountain. Overall the place is pretty dated. The kitchen had some issues - dishwasher doesn't seem to be installed properly. Vent for the stove didn't work. The grill was unusable because it was so filthy. We couldn't get it to stop flaming so shut if off after 20 minutes. There is a family of foxes living underneath and around the house which we were not made aware of. We had two small dogs and it was very difficult to take them out with hungry foxes waiting in the driveway every morning and evening. Also if you have small children it would be very concerning. There was no groomed grass where we could take our dogs out either. Pool table in the basement was unusable. It doesn't fit properly in the space. The basement also had a noticeable musty smell but at least they had air filters running. The basement has two nice updated bathrooms, but would be nice if the main floor and second story bedrooms had updated bathrooms as well. Overall the place was OK and plenty of space for us, but for the price point it should have been really nice, well-maintained, and immaculate. In our opinion it was way too expensive and our expectations were much higher based on the price point.

Our stay was wonderful! We were a large group with kids, and everyone had a great time, especially the kids who enjoyed the hot tub. The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, including plenty of kitchen utensils. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we also enjoyed grilling outdoors. The place met all our expectations, highly recommended!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 12-person group had a marvelous stay at the Sawmill Run Lodge. The lodge is within a 5-min walk to the top of the Breckenridge ski resort. We enjoyed multiple hikes, rides on the gondola, rented mountain bikes and flew down the biking trails, were close to town to purchase necessities and enjoy the local downtown attractions. The property is spacious. Everyone was able to spread out nicely. Also one of the best beds I've slept on outside of my house. Thank you for the extra pillows. The house is pretty close to other houses on the block and the outdoor seating area / hot tub faces the road, so there isn't a lot of privacy. That said, we loved our time there and would be grateful to come back one day!

Great trip, house was a great location and comfortable. If I had to not pick anything I could say the kitchen supplies such as pots, pans, and cabinets could use and upgrade but besides that was perfect for us.

It’s a great place ….We use VRBO all the time and we have never stayed at a place that was stocked with supplies!!They were also very responsive to any requests we had !!Best ever rental company!!!Great skiing if you have never been there before! Fantastic Group Space

We had a fantastic stay at Sawmill Run. The house was well suited for our large group, and was very well equipped. It was a short walk (10 minutes) to the lifts - and convenient to town!

Breck Ski Trip 2025

Well-appointed and well supplied. Easy access. Best VRBO we have stayed at. Decent walking access to the slopes. The 3-car garage was a fantastic convenience. The hot tub was excellent and fully functional. The rental agency was very responsive.
