à propos de cet hébergement
Magpie Perch 3-bedroom cabin with mountain views in Bailey, Colorado
Our rustic 1940's cabin overlooking Pike National Forest is nestled on a peaceful cul-de-sac just seven minutes from Highway 285. Relax on the deck with mountain views or venture out to explore the local area. Within our neighborhood, there is a playground and a trail to the top of Mount Bailey. Our town of Bailey offers restaurants, shops, a brewery, and a winery on the river. Nearby, outdoor adventures abound -- hiking, biking, fishing, and more are minutes away.
Other things to note:
The one-acre property is mostly sloped, but there is a fenced backyard where dogs are welcome.
The cabin is located at 8,200 ft of elevation.
Within the cabin is a steep spiral staircase. There is a wider staircase on the outside of the house.
The log doors in the upstairs portion of the cabin can be difficult to lock, but there are glass screen doors on each that lock easily and keep the home secure.
We have water tanks within the cabin that are noisy when the well refills them (usually in the evening).
As with most mountain homes, there is no air conditioning -- we just open the windows or doors for cooling, but there are a few days in the summer when the upstairs gets quite warm; there are fans and blinds to use in those instances. For heating, there are space heaters in individual rooms; there is a woodburning stove that provides ample heat if you are comfortable lighting a fire. Wood is provided. There is no central heating.
While pets are welcome, please do not allow them on the furniture unless you use a covering to protect the furniture during your stay; there is one available.
Children are welcome, but some areas of the home require close supervision.
This is a smoke-free home. Please refrain from smoking inside; if you smoke outside, make sure the cigarette is fully out -- this is a very dry climate with high risk of wildfires. Outdoor fires are never permitted.
We supply all of the essentials, but we recommend stopping in Conifer before your arrival for any grocery needs. There is a Dollar General and a gas station near the cabin, but large grocery stores are 20 minutes away.
In the winter, 4WD or AWD is recommended. There is a half mile of dirt road leading to our cabin.
This is bear country -- please do not leave food in your vehicles and make sure to lock your vehicles at night.
If it snows during your stay, a snow shovel is provided. For heavier snowfall, we have a plow service that will plow the driveway when more that 4-6 inches accumulates. The main roads are plowed regularly, but it may take them 48 hours to get to our street (since it is a cul-de-sac).
We live in a rural neighborhood, and quiet hours are generally observed in the evening.
