3 things to know right away:
*This studio has very STEEP STAIRS to get into it!!
*It also is subject to wind noise. If we get heavy winds at night you will hear them up there!
*Unit does NOT have a full kitchen. It HAS a full refrigerator, toaster oven coffee pot etc. It does have a small wet bar size sink for dish washing if necessary.
If you are not good with these please search for the right place for you. If you climb stairs like a mountain goat, sleep like a rock and plan to mostly eat out- well, we are the place for you!

For value and pricing please consider Maui prices and understand why I strive to keep my prices down for people. Local hotel nightly rates range from $281 plus (at a small dingy old smelly place downtown Kahului) to the hundreds and sometimes thousands of $ per night.
A score of less than 5 as a `fail` -- if my average rating drops below 4.8, I will lose my Superhost status, and if it drops below 4.7, I risk having Vrbo remove my listing from the platform altogether! (This is no joke).

Family setting in a delightful upcountry neighborhood. We are not resort fancy but we are clean, super fun and our views are extraordinary.

We have an eco friendly pest company that makes quarterly visits so we keep the critters outside as much as possible. As a friendly reminder though, we do live in the tropics so we encourage naming the geckos and not swatting them.

Duke the dog also lives here. He is not allowed into the Holoholo Studio but he is friendly and will most certainly want to say `hi` if he sees you on your way to your car and he is taking us for a walk.

Note: we are ideally located `Upcountry` on the slopes of Haleakala (meaning house of the sun in Hawaiian) at about 1500 feet above sea level which enables us to enjoy the cooler night time temperatures and escape the bustle of the beach resort areas.
The summit of Haleakala is at 10,023 ft and is a must see while on Maui. Bring a jacket!

You will absolutely want to rent a car to explore the island.

Also, please do not be confused as we are in the perfect little town of Pukalani (meaning hole in the heavens in Hawaiian). We enjoy some of the best of Maui`s wonderful year round weather. The post office considers us Makawao but it`s too rainy there for our tastes. :)

We named this unit the Holoholo Studio. Holoholo means adventuring for the fun of it. Our vibe with this room is healing and lasting happiness for whomever chooses to stay with us.
