Wahwahtaysee Resort est une station balnéaire de luxe sur la rivière San Marcos. La propriété s'étend sur plus de 100 acres avec une vaste façade sur la rivière San Marcos. Nous avons trois tentes de safari, The Little Dipper, The Stargazer et The Sanctuary. Chaque tente peut accueillir 4 adultes. Chaque tente présente le plus haut niveau d'équipements, notamment:

- un lit king-size
- Canapé-lit queen
- Draps de luxe
- Climatisation et chauffage
- une salle de bains privative complète avec douche, baignoire spa et toilettes
- une kitchenette comprenant un coin repas, un réfrigérateur / congélateur, un four micro-ondes et une machine à café

We came to Wahwahtaysee for a staycation birthday celebration and actually didn't want to leave. I am so happy to have found this place--it is luxurious, peaceful, fun, beautiful . . . everything we were looking for in a vacation. The owners are both very helpful and stay out of your way, the tent is stocked with everything you need--I travel a lot and have learned to bring a meat thermometer with me for grilling but this was the first place I've been that had a meat thermometer there! They really had anticipated our every need. The outdoor shower was just secluded enough for me to use it after swimming and as my morning shower, the golf carts were fun and made us feel like we were on an adventure, the tent was so beautifully styled inside that sometimes we just wanted to stay right there. Thank you to the Dillards for a really unique experience. Rarely do I want to repeat a trip but Wahwahtaysee is compelling enough for me to already be figuring out how to get back.

BEWARE - This place is AWESOME!!

These people get hospitality!! So many times when you travel, the accommodations are bare bones, but that was not the case here. Instead of a little crappy grill, they have a green egg! The jacked up golf cart was so much fun. The trails through the woods on the hilly terrain were awesome. The pillows were even like clouds! This is not just a tent, this is one of the coolest set ups I have stayed in and we have been all over Lake Travis, Austin and multiple rivers. Who has an outdoor shower next to their Safari Tent?? Crazy! Our kids loved it and we cant wait to go back!

Beautiful Safari Tent Experience in Central Texas

After downsizing and moving into a highrise in downtown Austin, we find that a quarterly trip out of the city is a good respite for us. For Memorial Day, my husband book at birthday trip to Wahwahtaysee Resort near San Marcos, TX. We had a fabulous time at this lovely property. This 100 acre family owned piece of land is about a 45 minute drive from Austin. The lovely, lazy, winding San Marcos river runs through it. The owners were inspired on an African Safari to bring that type of living experience to Central Texas. They brought the durable and beautiful Safari Tents and modified them for the different climate here by insulating and adding air conditioning. The accommodations are lovely—beautiful bathrooms with modern tub, kichenettes and a big canopy bed with chandelier. They have thought of everything you could want for a “glamping trip”—hair dryer, steamer, grilling gloves, beach towels. Three aspects we loved— 1.) the Yeti Dinners—think Blue Apron dinners with ingredient, designed to be prepared on your beautiful backyard Green Egg 2.) The Chef Dinner—they arranged for a Pop Up Dining Chef to come in one night to prepare a fabulous meal which we ate on our front porch dining table at sunset. The food was extraordinary. 3.). The Golf Cart—available at your tent to travel down to the river beach with your yeti so you don’t have to haul all of your gear and to tour the property The have done a beautiful job clearing and creating a really nice path/trail for hiking, jogging, driving your golf cart. It is a beautiful nature trail. When we visited Memorial Day, 2018, they only had three of these amazing glamping tent/homes. In visiting with the owners, they have plans to add more, tree houses, a wedding venue, etc. I am not sure what the timeline is for the next phases. This is a great property for families with kids, a family reunion, young couples, empty nesters. The owners are very attentive and lovely people. In addition to the hiking, fishing, tubing, canoeing, there are several cute towns very close by (Lockhart—BBQ capital of the world, Gruene—Music hall fame, the San Marcos Outlets, and more!). I would definitely recommend and we will be back! What a great experience!

The most magical place!

I grew up in Austin, and have spent lots of time exploring the hill country of central Texas. I can tell you there is nothing else like this gem property anywhere in area. Staying at Wahwahtaysee Resort is truly a one of a kind experience. The property sits on a georgeous pecan grove that lines the banks of the beautiful aquamarine waters of the San Marcos river. With river side beaches to lounge on and enjoy the beautiful scenes of the property’s vast picturesque natural surroundings. The tents are located up on the hill on the property, with a large tipi area overlooking the river. These safari tents are truly a custome creation of unique elegance. The property is incredible, and the accommodations create a feeling like you are in a 5-Star luxury resort in some far away European country. This is by far the most unique place I’ve been in central Texas, they truly thought of everything. The location is so convenient, just a short drive from downtown Austin. We will be back!!!

Glamping at its finest!

We had a blast! Took our 6 and 8 year olds and some friends. Tents were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We all slept very well. My only regret is not staying another night :)!

Amazing getaway! Glamping on the San Marcos River!

My husband and I stayed at Wahwahtaysee Resort in January and were truly blown away. We stayed in the Little Dipper tent and had an incredible experience. The tent is extremely luxurious and feels like a five star resort, while also allowing you to feel like you're escaping to the outdoors. We loved cooking out, roasting s'mores in the fire, spending the day at the river, and watching the stars at night. The location was super convenient as well, we live in Austin and it was an easy 45 minute drive! We had our friends book the other 2 tents and it was such a fun group weekend!! We can't wait for our next stay!
