A unique feature of The Hideaway is the remnants of the old town of Calcite, Colorado including foundations from the original school, clubhouse, and multiple homes. Part of the foundation of the original boarding house is even integrated into the firepit patio adjacent to the house. Explore these 100-year-old remains on the property and imagine a bustling community of 200 people mining calcite for the steel industry based out of Pueblo.

Foire aux questions
Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous ĂȘtes reçu par Jim Reindel
My family and I are from Littleton, Colorado and have been VRBO guests for more than 20 years and always dreamed of having a place of our own. We've been long term landlords for more than a decade in the Denver area, creating beautiful spaces for our tenants, and now have had a blast creating this space for your family, as well as ours, to have incredible vacations.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
We chose the Salida area because it literally checked every box when it came to a place with something for every vacation adventurer. We chose Howard and this home specifically for it's quiet beauty and historic intrigue while being so close to the endless activities of the Arkansas River basin.
Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
This property is very private, has unbelievable views in every direction, is astoundingly quiet, and full of history, containing the remnants of the early 20th century town of Calcite which was the local epicenter of limestone mining for the mineral for which it was named.
