We really enjoyed this place for our family. Very pretty and peaceful, loved having two floors, and Alex took great care of us whenever we needed anything.
We had a wonderful stay at this vacation property which was at a great location. The place was well kept up, the courtyard was beautiful and rooms were clean. Alex, the property manager, was helpful in recommending places to visit on the island. We would definitely stay at this place again.
Absolutely charming place to stay. Very peaceful. Alex helped us with everything! Owner was very helpful as well! We loved the turtles and the property grounds as well!
Our third time staying at casa colonial and never disappointed. The pool and grounds were welcoming as well as the villas . Alex the property manager was attentive and made communication an ease.
Very Friendly, easy to get a hold of property manager. Little bit of a walk to downtown but we were aware of that at booking so it was not a bother.
Beautiful Accommodations! Turtles in complex added pleasant entertainment.
Would return
We usually stay at a resort on the beach but we decided to try something different. The location was good, walking distance to a grocery store and great local restaurants that arenât advertised . The property is amazing and peaceful with a lot of thought put into the landscaping. It is an oasis . Our villa was clean and inviting. Communication was very good with prompt and helpful responses from Alex. We will definitely recommend this property and will return .
My spouse and I recently spent several days at Casa Colonial.I'll start with the *one* downside - the indoor living spaces are on the small side. The thing is, you're not coming to Casa Colonial to stay inside. The best part about it - other than the fact that you can walk to a lot of things (markets, bakeries, bars, restaurants) in San Miguel - is the gorgeous private garden and pool.We happened to get lucky - it was just the two of us the whole time we were there, so it truly was a *private* oasis. It would be a PERFECT location for a group trip, with the four small villas surrounding the beautiful large central outdoor living space. The owners were terrific, too - the start of our trip got delayed a day by circumstances out of our control and they graciously allowed us to bump the whole thing back a day. And Alex, the property manager, provided great recommendations to sites these two veteran Cozumel visitors had never been to before. The listing fails to mention the MOST important thing, though: TORTUGAS! There are several resident turtles in the garden who come out in the morning and love to be fed bits of your breakfast fruit.
Just 5 minutes from the airport. As a property, this was very pleasant and quaint. There are 2 local places that blast music almost every night until 10p-1130p so loud that you can hear every word laying in bed. There are several happily barking dogs that can be a noise nuisance. These are the only not awesome parts of the property.
4 units in the complex. 15-minute walk to the waterfront. Local shops, groceries, and food are readily available in the surrounding area. We enjoy walking everywhere possible and this place proved to be in a great spot with pleasant neighbors in the surrounding blocks. 12-minute taxi ride to the marina we were diving out of. Generally speaking, almost everyone on the island is pleasant every time we visit.
Our group enjoyed the outdoor spaces for playing games and generally relaxing with a book.
Cooking in the kitchen can be a challenge as cookware was in poor selection. BBQ worked well and plenty of cooking tools were available - like fish/veggie baskets and tongs.
The maid service came Friday and Monday, landscaper on Wednesday. Both are very pleasant people.
Alex (property manager) is responsive and generally helpful. Has a variety of services/activities he offers during your intake.
This place feels safe and, when the music is blasting, is peaceful. I recommend this place is the music will not bother you.
The property was beautiful. We loved watching all of the turtles roam around the grounds. The location was good with in walking distance to groceries, shops, and restaurants. Met the other neighbors (there are only 4 townhouses on the property) and they were all super sweet. They have been coming down for years and staying there. If I were to have an ask, it would be to have a couple of grocery bags on hand for use so that you don't have to buy them. Thanks for letting us enjoy your piece of paradise.
Great Place for Those Who Want Authentic Cozumel Without a Resort
If you're looking for beach, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a quiet place, away from the craziness of the tourist strip, and if you don't mind a bit of a walk to get to the malecon (the street along the water), this is a good location. It's also well-located if you want to walk to authentic local restaurants. The complex is large and very pretty, with a pool and several resident turtles and cats. The unit itself is large, and the bedrooms are separated from the kitchen and living room by a flight of stairs, which is great if one wants to go to bed while the other stays up. The air conditioning works very well. The property manager will also help arrange activities, which is handy.
I'm Sarah Rodriguez. My husband Bob designed and built Casa Colonial in 2000. We wanted to build something unique on Cozumel that gave visitors the feel of Mexican Colonial architecture with all the modern conveniences of today. That was the simple concept that guided the design of every facet of Casa Colonial. Arches, columns, Talavera, vibrant colors, roll barrel tile accents, âEquipaleâ (hand crafted Mexican Furniture: headboards, Armoires, Original art, dining room tables, and chairs, etc.) and more assures that you will be immersed in all things Mexico! The authenticity of Casa Colonial is unmatched anywhere else on the island. Experience the difference of Mexican Colonial Style. Experience Casa Colonial!
Our attention to detail and to our guest's needs have been a focal point. The "garden oasis" is beautifully landscaped and tropical with small indigenous land turtles that roam around; the Colonial-style architecture lets guests know they are in Mexico and not a generic room. From the Property Manager to the Housekeeper, Pool cleaner and Gardener, our staff is very personable and friendly. Finally, the location is great for exploring in-town. Casa Colonial is surrounded by some of the Island's favorite restaurants. Our guests love this!
