Great Oceanfront Unit
The location could not be better for this ocean front unit at Papakea. The only issues we had were with the heavy front door (my wife was unable to open it by herself), and the unit needs a few more dishes. Management was very responsive to minor issues.
Papakea is an older privately owned condo complex, with lovely grounds. It is well maintained and had workers pruning trees and doing ongoing maintenance, which was nice to see. The unit was adequately furnished and we found the bed to be comfortable. I have a bad back, so I was concerned about previous post(s) about the mattress, which was not an issue for us. We brought a few DVD movies, but we could not figure out how to change the source to play them on the TV. We tried changing batteries in the remotes, but still had no luck. Written instructions would have been helpful. Bree said she would look into this for future occupants. The heavy solid wood door was a bit of a struggle to open. We saw some large sea turtles swim by the sea wall, and we saw some whales spouting in the channel, which was surprising because we were there in May and thought they would be swimming back to Alaska by now. We enjoyed the sunsets from the lanai, which went down between the islands of Lanai and Molokai. Close proximity to local shopping and restaurants, and easy access to the coastal beach boardwalk for our morning walks was fabulous. We loved the corner unit with front and side windows!
fantastic ocean front location
the proximity to the ocean was fantastic. we spent a ton of time on the patio. we really liked how low key the development is. we used the bbq several times and it is very close to the unit f210. It is also so close to the grocery stores, abc store , and several affordable restaurants and the food trucks. We wish we had been able to swim in the ocean in front of the condo, but with the sea wall we did not do that. We did spend a lot of time at the grass by the ocean and at the pool. Also i do think they should update the kitchen dishes and look at getting some new bedding. We had to change the dates of our stay, and they were very nice and let us do that with no charge. All in all a really nice vacation spot.
As always thank you for taking the time and sharing your thoughts. I do see people swimming out in front of the complex, so I am thinking that they access the ocean from the adjacent beach area. I will look into your comment about the dishes and bedding. I really appreciate your feedback as this is the best way for us to make improvements to the condo. Mahalo!!
Notre unité est située entre le village de Whaler à Kaanapali et Kapalua, tous deux connus pour leur golf de classe mondiale, leur cuisine raffinée, leurs belles plages et si vous conduisez un peu plus au nord, vous devez vous rendre à Honolua Bay pour profiter de la meilleure plongée avec tuba. du côté ouest!
