The place had everything we needed to be comfortable and happy. The only negative thing was the trek through the dunes due to the shortened walkway, but we survived the hikes.đ
Great location. Walk out of the door, turn right and walk 20 yards to the dunes and 40 yards to the water. The house has the feel of a genuine "Tybee House" from the 1920's and the feel of an updated and well-equipped modern home. Bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent too. We had a great few days on Tybee Island and in this house. Thanks!
Overall a great stay at a great property with great friends where we would stay again if in the area. Generously stocked kitchen, large bedrooms and baths, large screened patio with comfy furniture, comfy beds, and large garage with showers, plenty of space for beach stuff, and a ping pong table. Not major things but it was a little further from the beach than we wanted, we couldnât see the beach, sunrise, or stars because view was blocked by house right next door, the main floor thermostat didnât seem to work just right, a downstairs toilet ran if we didnât jiggle the handle, and none of the downstairs bedrooms had a TV. Appreciated the courtesy call to let us know the property was ready early, and check in and out was contactless and very simple. We were given keys to the wrong property at check in, but someone was sent quickly to take care of it.
This location was close to the beach, although the bridge over the dunes ended a bit of a walk away from the actual beach. It was better to take the 11th st bridge as it took you all the way. The house was huge and had plenty of rooms for our group of all ages. Although, most of the house was bedrooms and not a lot of hangout space and the sofa was extremely uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the property was below everyoneâs expectations, floors were dirty, dishes needed to be washed before using, spider webs in every room and mold in the 2 master bathrooms. Two of our guests had to throw away swim suits bc the mold took over them while they were in the towel bar drying. There was so much clutter in the house it made it feel dirty and dusty too. Lots of potential in this house if the owners invested the cleaning fees back into the property.
I donât like to complain, but there were some issues.
1) Getting a shock from the garage door. There was a short somewhere. The electrician sent out could not fix it. So we could not put the garage door down. I was just glad one of our kids didnât get shocked!
2) Rat(s)? Stepped on rat droppings in the living room the second day there. The exterminator came out the next morning after my daughter saw a rat in the kitchen that night. I was awakened about 4am when the trap went off, and the rat not immediately killed was dragging the trap around the kitchen.
3). I think church pews would have been more comfortable than that living room couch.
I still love Tybee, and will return with my family. I just wonât be staying at 3-10th place.
The house was perfect for what we needed. The 5 baths and 5 bedrooms were great for 5 couples. The porch was fabulous with the fans and plenty of space and seating. The kitchen was well stocked. The large dining table allowed everyone to sit together. The old style house was inviting and like being at home. Overall we could not have stayed at a nicer place.
We had all four of our children and their spouses and children spend the week at Tybee with us. This cottage was perfect as each family had their own space. We had a great time!!
This was a horrible experience for our family reunion, several of the guest staying at this location left because of very small kids exposed to the mold. There was visible bad mold in the upstairs area. The water had a foul smell. The hot water heat mad a loud noise. Contact the management company, they sent someone out to clean it but the strong odor was unbearable. We were only refunded a one night stay for a four night stay. This really put a damper on this and the fact that people had to leave a family holiday planned weekend early. Rachel at the management office was very professional. However, the manager of the company was very rude, he was making excuses for the situation at hand and trying to justify or make it seem like everything was ok!!! Everyone that stayed at this property was ill, one small child two years of age was hospitalized several days for lung issues. I tried to keep in contact with the property management company to keep them abreast of the situation and to avoid anyone else staying at this property from getting sick, but the manager was obviously not trying to hear anything I had to say. I have dated pictures and offer to send them. He just kept making excuses and talking all over himself. I have not received a call or txt nor heard from this property management company as to follow up on the health condition of my family members that stayed at this home. Very! Very! Poor management.
Comfortable, big house, AC works great, close to the brach, scenic walk on a dune trail to the beach. Big table for family meals, House has a lot of character.
