We had a great time! The hiking trails were beautiful. The town was cute and very friendly. The refuge was an awesome learning experience. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back.
We loved the Cabin. It was quaint, quiet, close enough to walk anywhere in town. We enjoyed the hill out back. it was gorgeous with coreopsis, painted blanket, Indian paintbrush, and many other flowers in full bloom. Even the cactus was blooming.
We had a wonderful stay and would do it again in a heartbeat.
This cabin exceeded our expectations! Honestly such a cute cabin in a very secluded area. The bed was comfortable and we had had everything we needed. The front porch overlooks a mountain. The side patio was very nice. Very
short walk to everything in town.
This cabin is great but could use a few minor updates. We would recommend it during warmer weather seasons, as there is not a great deal to do in town when it is cold.
The cabin was nice but the jacuzzi bathtub was broken along with the fireplace in the bathroom. The giant tub was one of the major reason we picked this place and we were very let down that iltheu both remained broken our entire stay. And the owner tried to say we stole the television remote and charge us extra for it when we did no such thing.
Pulling up to the property the ditch had fallen down tree limbs and overgrown, disappointed the watetfall wasn't working and empty pond, there may have been a couple of paths to hike behind the house, but unable to see and grass was knee high, tripped from living to kitchen, a piece of wood was loose, enjoyed the soaking tub, but, went to grab a towel and all provided was nothing bigger than a hand towel, luckily we brought our own, hoping for something more luxurious to dry off with for the price we paid, bathroom fireplace didnt turn on, but we would wake up and it was on, really hard to turn off,not enough hot water to fill tub, overall, disappointed, this hasn't been our 1sr rodeo, to speak, i think it was overpriced and will never book there again
Cabin was nice but bugs all over the floor. Septic back up due to not connect by the city. Gaps in the door so bugs can get in. Killed a scorpion.
Was there for a family reunion and had to leave 2 days early. Was not happy with the refund amount either. Very disappointing.
My husband and I enjoyed two nights at the Romantic Mountain Cabin in historic Medicine Park, OK on Oct 21-23, 2016. We were so impressed with the beauty of the area, the fabulous drive up Mt Scott, hiking trails through the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge, bike trails, restaurants, live music and serenity of the cabin. It's a simple hike from the back door of the cabin up Mt Dunbar and easy walkability to shops, restaurants and the river activities in this quaint mountain town. We enjoyed sunset views from our rocking chairs on the front porch and from the top of Mt Dunbar. The cabin is equipped with luxury linens and towels, a large, flat-screen TV with cable, two gas fireplaces, a comfy living area, breakfast room and kitchen with all of the accessories you need to prepare meals. The bed is super comfortable. The cabin is absolutely immaculate! The owners have prepared a lovely atmosphere with their renovations to an early 1900's cobblestone constructed cabin and decorating talents. When our future travels take us to the Lawton area, this romantic rustic cabin will be our only choice for lodging.
Many stairs to reach the door. It was straight uphill to access.
The mattress was awful. We slept on the very outside edges. If one moved in the night, the other person bounced & rolled to the middle. (We are neither over-weight.)
The weather stripping below both doors was torn. The kitchen had mouse dumps. The lights over the cooktop & dining table were out; so we had to use a flashlight to see when our food was cooked & what we were eating. The lights over the hot tub were out.
There was no pot/no toaster. We were not sure why there wasnât an inventory done after each guest leaves.
The patio chair legs were loose. The skillet & shower handles were loose. I hung a wash rag on the hook right of the bathroom mirror & the hook fell off. The shower curtain was 12" above the floor, so water splashed out (no matter where we aimed the shower head).
The yard was full of weeds. Our small dog has long hair; & every time we took her out to do her business, she had burrs & stickers all over.
There are NO outside lights.
The positive items were:
1. Location! Only a 3-minute walk to the main street - far enough away to not hear nightlife, but close enough to enjoy the wonderful town.
2. The fireplace pilot light was out. The owner sent a delightful person to re-light the pilot light & bring us a pot. She wanted to make our stay comfortable & was responsive.
Other than the mattress, many issues would be easy/inexpensive to fix. For this high price, we expected more.
Perfect location in town. Pictures of the interior do not do it justice.
Perfect for a couple days in Medicine Park. Close to everything. I hiked local trails each day. The pictures online are dark and do not do this cabin justice. The decor is cute. It is perfect for a couple. Bed was comfy, air conditioner worked perfectly, shower was hot, check-in was easy. We really enjoyed the large deck.
Everything was great, only negative was landlord treating us as if we would burn the place down and threatening extra charges for different scenarios, when your excitement is up and you get treated as if your a criminal, other than that it was great
Medicine Park is a hidden gem!!!
We enjoyed staying at this beautiful old cabin. Walking distance to town, but still secluded enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Will stay here again for sure.
Such a cute little cabin! Very clean. Romantic place to getaway to. My husband and I really enjoyed our time in this little cabin. The town of Medicine Park is quaint and fun.
Interesting historic property in a great location relative to Medicine Park. Great renovations and decorations. However, the road to the property is in pretty bad shape. You need a car or truck with a high road clearance to get past the deep ruts.

Ron and I fell in love with this property at first site, and were so excited to restore it to its current glory! We are native Oklahomans, growing up in Stillwater and Tulsa. We enjoy hiking the mountains, swimming in the lakes, and all the festivities in the Medicine Park/Lawton/Meers area. The Cabin is our getaway place and we hope it becomes yours, too!
