We have been here several times. This house is our favorite place, not least because of its perfect location near several train stations and supermarkets. Do not assume stereotypical image of a â zen furnishedâ house, but it is actually a very typical Japanese house: full of stuff and very practical. Very quick and nice responses from the owner. Everything professionally arranged.
The house is spacious by Japanese standards, clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed. The host lives in the apartment downstairs. He was available and helpful but not intrusive. It's an easy walk to the train and there are several restaurants and convince stores in walking distance too.
A very spacious apartment with lots of light and great views! It's also across from a nice park, and walking distance to several train lines, and a great grocery store.
It does have a steep flight of steps into the apartment, and between the two floors within the apartment. Thankfully, they have a lift that is available to send up groceries or other heavy items so that might it much easier.
We met the owners one time in passing. They were very kind and helped me figure out how to use the oven. They even went out and bought some baked sweet potatoes for us when I didn't know how to use the oven.
It's a little bit further out if you're looking for a place close to downtown Osaka, but perfect for traveling to Kyoto and Osaka. Plus, it has a parking spot if you have a car.
Definitely recommend this place - great for a family!
Nice, quiet neighbourhood and clean apartment that so spacious by Japanese standards. Very easy walk to JR station, and one stop to Shin-Osaka.
Good and well-equipped kitchen, two living areas, though would have been nice to have lounge chairs in one instead of two dining tables. There is a couch, but it kind of points nowhere. Excellent relief to have aircon in every room, given the heatwave we stayed in! Really good wardrobe space.
Really nice host - good instructions and left welcome snacks, which was very nice.
You need to be fit, as there are three flights of stairs to get to the front door and then two flights within the property - we left all luggage on the second floor. I didnât find the beds comfortable - not firm enough - and the listing is a little misleading saying 1.5 to two bathrooms. Itâs one room, with a door enclosing the entire shower, so that the shower and toilet can be separated. Be sure to be clear on how many bedrooms you need. The third bedroom was locked when we arrived and although this was easily rectified, it meant that the third bedroom was extremely cramped because there was a large cot inside next to the bed.
We enjoyed our stay very much, especially the space and the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood.
The apartment is very suitable for 2 people, possibly with 1 baby or toddler. You must be able to climb stairs. Everything you could need is there, but do not expect a super designed, super zen or luxurious interior. That is really a stereotypical image of Japanese houses. On the contrary, it is a realistic image of typical Japanese house inside: full of all kinds of stuff, especially practical. But we actually really liked that, do get attached to that Japanese decor. The host is always willing to help you right away. It is the most perfect location to stay in the Kansai region. All train lines can be reached on foot, allowing you to cover all of Kansai (and with Shinkansen all of Japan). We will definitely come back!
