Great property, super clean and secluded. Loved the time there with my wife, was surprised to see that we could ride to some amazing mountain and gravel bike trails directly from the cabin. Canât recommend enough for hikers or bikers.
I think this is my fourth stay and weâre already thinking about returning in the fall. Love the cottage and Jake and Melinda couldnât be better hosts.
My 2 teen daughters and I had a wonderful time at the cabin! We had everything we needed, and the surroundings were so tranquil and relaxing. Jake is an excellent host. We saw him at check in and after that we felt like it was just us, with the comforting knowledge that our hosts were there if we needed anything. We all slept so well in the cozy beds. We loved that we could access Jackson State Forest trails from our door. The wifi was excellent and we appreciated the access to Netfilx and Amazon Prime. I already miss being there and hope to return some day!
We really loved the cottage, from the beautiful setting to the many thoughtful details inside. We had cool weather and the gas heater worked wonders. The guest book with history of this hand-built cabin was fascinating, and the owners greeted us warmly when we arrived. A perfect stay.
We had an excellent stay. The home is private, very quiet and just off the pc1 with easy access to Mendocino. Had everything we needed and more. Highly recommended.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at the cottage. Clean and quiet, amazing star-gazing. Very comfortable in all respects and great location. Not to be missed: the outdoor shower. It was early March, so I was dubious, but SO glad I got over that! The water pressure and temperature were amazing -- it was an experience that will stay in my memory for a long time, especially since my husband took pictures that will make it into our annual photo book!! That was a strategically placed rhododendron! We highly recommend this property if you want to enjoy hiking the Mendocino headlands and the redwood forests, plus eating at all of the wonderful restaurants of Mendocino area.
So glad we chose this property! The owners are great and the cabin is just the right size and location. It has everything you need to make you feel comfortable and right at home.
The perfect option for a Mendocino trip - hope to stay again soon! The outdoor shower was a major highlight. Everything was designed with purpose. The bed was extremely comfortable.
Property was just as described and exactly what we were hoping. Hosts were great and everything worked and was well stocked. Internet and wifi was great, we did not have cell service but we understood that going in. Location is incredibly secluded but close to many hikes, water activites and stores.Would definitely stay again!
Private, comfortable, perfect for 2,
Hot outdoor showers, across the street access to amazing single track riding.
Midway to Mendo and Fort Bragg.
Love this private spot!
Such an amazing place! We had such an relaxing time! Fantastic place to celebrate special occasions!
Everything was as the listing said. It was so quiet and relaxing. The tub was AMAZING as were the outdoor showers. It was close enough to Fort Bragg that we didnât have to go far for great meals. The hiking and the beach suggestions were fantastic. We will be back for sure!!
We had a lovely stay in this cute cabin. We stayed during a pretty stormy period, which was as fine with us. It is right between Mendocino and fort Bragg so it was easy to explore both. Hiking trails are literally right outside the door.
We enjoyed our stay. They provided all we needed! The only downside for us was that the bedroom was upstairs and there is no upstairs bathroom. Not a problem for the young, but harder for us older folks.
What a wonderful place to stay. Quiet and secluded. Close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Itâs clear Jake and Melinda have put a lot of love and care into their property and cabin. All the little details are not overlooked. What a gift they are to share their beautiful property.
This property is a gem. So secluded and quaint. Well appointed but not overdone. The outside shower was a little scary at first but once I was under the trees in that very private shower enclosure I was HOOKED. It was awesome. Took a nice long soak in the claw foot tub. Plenty of hot water for a cabin and the temperature controls and kitchen amenities are updated. The owners were on site but gave us complete privacy. Thank you Jake and Lindy, was a true gift to spend our anniversary in your cabin. â„ïž
I visited this charming cabin with a dear friend from college who just finished five months of chemo. She is still immuno-compromised; we were looking for a restful stay near Mendocino where we could mostly cook in house and take side trips as her energy permitted.
This charming cabin midway between Mendocino and Fort Bragg was perfect. Lovely tranquil setting and the ability to walk directly out into the Jackson Forest from the property. Tasteful decor, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a large and luxurious bathroom with a clawfoot tub. All impeccably clean. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a basket of snacks, a nice touch that we really appreciated. And the hosts immediately answered our one minor question.
The cabin is peacefully secluded but only minutes from both Mendocino & Fort Bragg. We bought organuc vegetables from Corner of the Mouth in Mendo & fresh fish from Princess Seafood in Fort Bragg & cooked in the cabin.
A delightful stay! Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

we found this cottage to be a perfect getaway. It was clean, well stocked and charming. The bedroom which is upstairs has a tall ceiling and many windows making you feel like your sleeping in the pines. The bed was comfortable making it hard to get out from under the covers in the morning. The wood stove worked well, and we fell in love with the outdoor shower. Our family has allergies which means no pets, so I loved that Molly would wander over occasionally and sleep on our deck - having a dog with no responsibilities! The location worked well for us since we spent an equal amount of time in Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Our favorite area hike was Jug Handle, and we also liked visiting the Cabrillo light house. Also, nice to be able to take a hike without getting in the car with lots of trails starting from the road in front of the cottage. Hope we get to come back some day!
