If you're looking for peace and quiet this is the place. All you have to listen to is the birds and the coyotes and the occasional planes which are fun to watch. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking as is the rest of the house. Fully fenced in yard for your pooch with ample room. The house has plenty of room with a spiral staircase leading to the upstairs. Relatively close to the town of Sahuarita for your shopping needs.
Loved the location, so quiet and isolated with no shortage of trails & roads to walk on the surrounding state land. The house is comfortable and well stocked with a unique layout. If you want easy access to goods, services, restaurants, & bars on suburban like or city roads then this isn't for you, but if you don't mind a 40 minute round trip and traveling on some dirt roads then being tucked away in the desert sunshine on this property might be for you.
We came to spend a few weeks with my daughter and her new baby. Our grand daughter. We came from Oregon. Brought our two dogs. They had fun and so did we.
The owner of the property is awesome! She was very responsive whenever I had questions. The property itself is quite unique. Itâs a great for those looking for a quiet place to stay and for those that enjoy star gazing.
This home is way out there. So be prepared for extra drive time, but it is private. And kinda pretty, the views from upstairs is nice. The layout of the home really is hard with young kids, kitchen downstairs and main room up a spiral staircase. Dead bugs everywhere, live bugs kept us from going outside. We we're eaten alive. Scorpions in the kitchen, showers and sinks full of dead bugs too. Tile in the kitchen also not safe, several pieces fell off near my 4 year olds toes. Looks like it's been a problem fro awhile. Lots of stuff in the hanger. We were able to use some of it for storage while we waited for our house to close. Cat in hanger runs the whole area, lol. We appreciated the space and that our cat was able to join us. Saw lots of animals and butterfly's. No cell reception.
My husband and I (& our dogs!) were lucky enough to stay at Laurel's property through the month of July. We were exceptionally lucky to get some amazing monsoon weather as well, which was so desperately needed for the area. The "green valley" really did turn some amazing shades of green & the wildflowers that presented themselves were just so lovely. The fenced yard of the property is absolutely perfect to let the doggos roam safely & there's plenty of dirt roads for leash walks if that's preferred. For two people, this house was HUGE, so whether you're a couple or have more members in your party, the space is extremely comfortable & inviting. There's great quirky accents, the personality of the owners showcased throughout the house & even a hangar kitty that loves wet food as a treat! :) We can't thank Laurel enough for opening up her home to us for a month long stay - we wouldn't miss the opportunity to stay at the house at any other chance we have to come through the area!! <3
Beautiful views, house, & master bath. We loved it!!
The hanger is great to park in, the area is quiet, & it is nice to feed & watch the wildlife in the backyard or on the porch. The kitchen is huge, & well stocked with almost anything you might need for cooking. There are bowls & a bed for your dog & cats, & they had a blast chasing things on the huge back porch. I would recommend the Flying Diamond Airpark VRBO to anyone who wants an awesome & relaxing vacation!!
Laurel was a wonderful host! The property was perfect for us. Lots of room for the dogs to roam safely. Loved watching the quail, cardinals, house finches, and other birds coming to the feeders throughout the day. A huge wonderful patio to spend time outdoors viewing the sunrises and beautiful night skies. Indoors was light and airy with lots of space, large rooms, and everything you need to feel at home..
Really cool to have the experience of staying right next to an airstrip!
We stayed here and worked remotely from the house. Kitchen is incredibly well stocked with cooking utensils, spices and more.
The place is very pet friendly and Laurel made sure we had everything we needed.
Laurel is a kind and responsive host. There was no better place to isolate ourselves! The hangar and home are comfortable and loaded with interesting items to see. We enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the. rabbits, squirrels and other creatures. Great place to walk around and enjoy nature.
This property was very isolated and I enjoyed that so I could study desert birds for long periods of time. I also enjoyed learning about the air park and the neighbors weâre very friendly. The backyard was totally fenced in so I felt very safe and the owner bent over backwards to accommodate me. The owner is an interesting person to talk with and quickly responded to any texts and questions I had.
While in Sahuarita for business we stayed at this home for over a month and loved it. A lovely home with plenty of property away from the hustle and bustle of city life yet close enough to pick up groceries on our way home. The stars at night are amazing! Plenty of wildlife and birds, I especially liked seeing the large jack rabbits along my drive to the property. Make no mistake this property is not your typical home in a subdivision it is in a private airpark and has an airplane hanger attached to the home. The house is warm and comfy with plenty of amenities. We always felt safe and comfortable in the home. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful should you be worried about being away from the city. We definately will stay here again. If you are an aviation buff or just enjoy a peaceful desert evening you will love it for sure!
My husband and I loved renting this house which had exquisite views from its east-facing porch of the valley and the Santa Catalina mountains. At night seeing the lights of Tucson and the valley were magical. A huge variety of desert birds visit the large fenced backyard. This property is private, quiet and serene. Although located at a private airpark, the house is located away from the runway. It was fun to see a few small private planes take off and land during our stay. Located about 15-20 minutes from I-19, (the last 1.6 miles is a dirt road) the house served well as a central hub for us to visit many area sites both in Tucson and points east and south, i.e. Tubac, Bisbee, Sonoita. The kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and dinnerware. We only needed to buy our food; everything else needed for food prep was there, including a new outdoor gas grill. We easily parked our car in the attached hangar using a remote garage door opener. The owner was extremely friendly, helpful and responsive to questions we had before and during our 6 week rental period. We loved our stay here and would definitely rent this house again.
Good hiking with lots of trails on state lands adjacent to property. Colorful, cheerful, unique house with attached aircraft hangar located on a wide street so aircraft owners can land and taxi home to their own hanger. The property was quiet as we rarely heard any aircraft. We rented not to fly in but because of the good hiking and the large fenced yard with pet door access and mountain views. The dog loved the yard and rarely wanted to come inside. House is so well supplied the if it does not have it, you do not need it. Owner met us and provided all info we needed for a good stay. Yes, we would go back again when travel to Arizona.
