Everything is as promised and we enjoyed the house. Enjoyed talking with Tanya and Jasper and one of the chickens visited us on the balcony. We also enjoyed walking by the creek. It is on the list of properties we want to come back to next year.
Great stay at this cabin just outside Winona. Place was advertised, and was everything expected. Very nice property owner. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time in this lovely property. The location was very convenient to town, but you also felt out in the country with all the trees - great star gazing from the balcony!
Weather was better than good for autumn in Minnesota, lots of trails to walk, only disappointment was the main reason we went down, to check out the Maritime Art Museum, not impressed.
I absolutely loved my stay, the property was fantastic and Winona is a beautiful place. I was by myself for some solitude and the creekside cabins get away was a great fit.
There were definitely some pros and cons. Iâll start with the pros ⊠My friend and I had a wonderful time, especially the first day. The cabin was clean with fresh bedding and towels. The location was in the woods but not far from the town with plenty of parks to go to nearby. Although the cabin is adjacent to the main house, we felt like we had some privacy. Now for the cons. On our second full day, the shower head broke when we tried to adjust it. It clearly didnât break from us and had mineral damage. Regardless, we were forced to pay for this. Which may have even been forgiven if the owner hadnât been so rude with her language in the messages to us. On this same day at night, we also saw a mouse running around on the first and second floors.Overall, as long as no issues come up in which you have to communicate with the owner, youâll probably be fine. The cabin is VERY small and narrow and the attic ceiling is lower than it appears in the photos, and you arenât as secluded as you might think from the photos, but I feel like the price reflects many of these imperfections.
Close to town but disconnected and peaceful! Really enjoyed sitting by the fire and talking to the ducks as they would strut by, and the chickens too! I can only imagine how awesome it would be to be there during winter and make a fire on the second level! Great GREAT place!
This wss our 5th stay at this property, it once again did not disappoint. We always enjoy this tiny Gem, Tanya and Family are always Warm and Welcoming. We Especially enjoy all the farm animals and wildlife that we encounter while staying, The entire experience is a peaceful slice of heaven! Bravo!
The owner was quick to respond to questions about the property after arrival. The fire place was cozy to relax with a few friends and a bottle of wine. I would stay at this location again in the future.
Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful quiet setting. Charming and comfortable decor and furnishings. Owners went above and beyond to make it a wonderful experience. Even little things were paid attention to such as the key ring having an easy hook to place on your own keys while staying there. Will be my first choice for staying in the Winona area.
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Creekside Cabin. It's nicely decorated with plenty amenities. The living room with the fireplace on the second floor is lovely! The hosts had stocked the fridge with breakfast food and fresh eggs. We highly recommend this cabin for a romantic or peaceful getaway!
My wife and I wanted to get away for a long weekend so we rented this little cabin nestled in the hillside. It has all of the amenities of home, just a much better view. Tanya and Damon are wonderful hosts, and we felt very welcomed. It is only about 5 minutes from town, which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking to be close to town, but out in the country a bit.
Fun little house. We loved the wood burning fireplace. The stairs are a little bit treacherous, so probably wouldnât recommend for those with mobility issues. The loft is very small.
This is a great little cabin in the woods, conveniently located within a few miles of shopping, restaurants, walks along the lakeside, etc. Reasonably priced as well. A great retreat for a sister's weekend away!! The property is very Peaceful. Having the owner's on site was Bonus for us in our accidental lock-out. They are both very responsive and respectful of space. Very happy with our choice of where to stay!
Great place to use as a home base for day trips. The communication was great, & the hosts are on the larger property. Be prepared for some coming & going by others that live &/or work on the property. You can be in downtown Winona in 5-10 minutes, the river parks in 15. The state park on the bluff is definitely worth a visit if you like short hikes & views.
We sincerely enjoyed the "tiny house" feel of the cabin, perfect for a weekend stay for 2 people. Loved being able to see all the wildlife, as well as interact with the chickens and Jasper the dog. Damon and Tanya were so kind and polite and really gave us room to just rest and enjoy the quiet. Amazing fireworks show for the July 4th holiday, even though they were delayed a day due to rain. We really loved sitting on the second story balcony and just listening to the nature sounds! Clean, quiet, comfortable and affordable. Would definitely do this again! It was also very wonderful that their house rules sheet included a listing of things to do in the area - helpful when you're not from there. Easy parking and access, and just the right distance from town that you can enjoy the quiet.
This place was cute.
Stairs are a challenge, not for older people or young kids.
Wish the TV was located upstairs with the couch or there was an additional TV up there.
The ducks and chicken were great to see.
The acorns dropping on the metal roof sounded like gun fire!
All and all it was a fun experience!
We enjoyed our time at this tiny house. The host was very kind, but not intrusive, and the cabin was clean, cozy and well furnished. It is located close to several great hiking trails within the city and nearby state parks. No complaints to the host for the house arrangement as it is accurately described. We simply suggest that future guests understand that you canât stand up in the bedroom. The bed is just a mattress on a pallet on the floor with the only bathroom two levels down so middle-of the-night bathroom treks were quite challenging with a couple bonks on the head trying to get out of bed - haha. Otherwise, the cabin is great.
My sisters and I rented this cabin and really enjoyed it. The spiral staircase is definitely narrow and was a little nerve wracking to carry suitcases up & down. Everything else was great though. We could have sat in front of the fireplace and relaxed all day. The third floor where you sleep is really unique and fun as well. It kind of felt like sleeping in a treehouse. The beds and bedding were soft and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. We honestly never even turned on the TV, but did enjoy watching the chickens in the morning. It is close to Winona and was easy to find. We did some hiking and explored the area. We would definitely stay here again.:)
My husband Damon and I were born and raised in Winona,Mn. We have 2 kids Hayden and Harley. Our dog Jasper would love to ge to know you, however he has anxiety over it.
****Update**** We just did a major remodel of the cabin so if you have been here before you will love all the upgrades!!! If not, WELCOME! I canât wait for you to enjoy the new space!
We bought this property approx. 4 years ago... knowing it needed some TLC... however, we couldn't beat the fact it was minutes away from town and had a country like setting. There is a garage located next to the driveway of the cabin where we have a renter and little did we know my really good friends uncle lives there... small world indeed. He still lives there and is a great cook.. :)
