Peace and quiet

Great location for a very relaxing stay. Close to town. Fishing location is a bit of a walk but a very nice spot to fish. Had everything we needed.

Nice place, Awesome Fising

Very nice place, the fishing was awesome. We caught 18 trout during our stay. It is also close to Eureka Springs for dinning and shopping. It was a very good experience, highly recommend it.

Great crew outing

Came to this property with our crew of 6 firefighters for some trout fishing. Excellent time , plenty of wood for the fire pit and good fishing. Highly recommend .

Thanks for great review ! I was afraid you guys had lousy luck at fishing based on your comments in the guest book but with a few days on that river and even on "ok" fishing is still pretty nice, huh? Thanks again for coming out !

Serene and Comfortable

This property was clean and is just gorgeous. We stayed here with friends for a guided fishing trip nearby. We've stayed in the area a few times and this is our favorite rental so far. Host is responsive and informative, we didnt have any issues. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great location on the river. Home has great character and is very comfortable.

Peaceful stay

The place was clean and as described. Very quiet. I fly fished in the river and caught a nice amount of rainbow trout. Our kids had their own space upstairs. We would definitely stay again.

Everything was great! We will definitely want to go back! It was farther away from the water than we thought but we took our side by side with us because of 1 person was older and couldn’t walk to the water but loved the location anyway!! Also the fishing was great in that spot!!

Perfect for a guy's fishing weekend

This house and location were perfect for our guys weekend fishing trip. Everyone had their own bed and access to the river was great. The fire pit was awesome and there was plenty of wood for it. The hot water did have a sulfur smell but it didn't bother us.

Adult Family Vacation

Great quiet lush green space. Property as represented. Comfortable beds and spacious refrigerator. The host responded quickly to every inquiry from before we booked to throughout our stay. We would definitely stay again. We were all adults but property would appropriate for families with children.

Perfect

This was the perfect house for our family get together. The layout of the house accommodated my mother with her needs with her oxygen concentrator, without feeling like she was missing out on family activities. The path to the river was nice and mowed down, my elderly father had no issues walking it. We really enjoyed our weekend.

Nice Vaca Home

This property is very spacious and clean. The attention to detail is very nice. The property in the back is usual and doesn’t lend to a fishing location with a lot of access to the river. It would be recommended to get a fishing guide with a boat for sure. Overall, this property was excellence for a family vacation with close proximity to Eureka Springs.

It’s too bad the river was up as high as it was. It tended to cut off easy access to the river. The water was higher than I’ve seen it in over four or five years. Usually you can walk down to a gravel bank and camp out and fish, even build a fire on the bank next to the river. Sorry about the timing of the high water and how it ruined your fishing plans. Though it was great how y’all outlined your stay on the chalkboard! Thanks again for staying out at our river house.

Excellent cabin on scenic property

Great location for access to both the river and Eureka Springs. Cabin was clean and well-appointed, and the A/C and hot water kept us comfortable in the middle of the Arkansas summer. Would be great for families, with river access and ample room to play, but it also worked out perfectly for our fishing trip with a group of 5 adults. There is a short hike down to the river — maybe 3-5 minutes down an ATV path — with a gravel bank (during low water) that made it easy to wade fish or put-in/take-out kayaks. This section is directly across from the bank at Spider Creek Resort, and about 1000ft down river of the Bertrand boat ramp. The host was super responsive and accommodating. Will gladly book again the next time we're in the area.

Peaceful and quiet

There are lots of things I liked such as the location, the quiet, very clean and comfortable beds. Kitchen was well stocked and owner very communicative. We loved the two story where each couple has their own privacy. The Only negative thing was it looked like from the advertising you could walk right down to river and fish. The river view is the next door neighbors and you can’t use it. There is a trail but at the end is a high drop off so you can’t fish there either. The main reason we rented this house was to fish in the river right off the bank. As I said, everything else was perfect.

Nice house but needs to update picture online.

The house was nice and relaxing. The online picture were some what deceiving. Which made us think the sitting areas were different then what they were. The water did have a very bad smell to it which I’m assuming it was something do with the well that wasn’t quite right. Owner should look into that! Even though they said no WIFI but you could use your hot spot which did not work at all. That was a small disappointment but all and all it was a very nice stay. Relaxing and very peaceful place with a homey feeling. We did have a great time and enjoyed ourselves!

Sorry to hear you weren't satisfied with the pictures. In over four years of renting this out you are the first review to say the pictures were misleading in regards to the sitting areas. Most people say that the pictures did not do justice to the house or that the pictures were exactly what was there. In regards to the water smell, it is due to the water being sulfur water from the well. It is not harmful and the smell dissipates in a short time. The smell is addressed in the House Book . The WiFi situation using a hotspot can be tricky out there with low level of cell service but every time we go out to the house we utilize our cell phones hot spot if we want to use our Apple TV box and have never had a problem. We have used it both upstairs and down. I'm sorry your cell service didn't connect well and allow use of the hot spot. Thanks again for booking with us and overall I'm glad you had an enjoyable quiet and restful stay. I'm sorry things were not totally in line with your expectations but hope to see you again. Eben

I loved this place. The view was awesome and the house was very unique. There was old wood used all in the house and I really liked it. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to come back!

Nice home in the counrty

It was nicely remodeled inside. The only downside was the Sulphur smell in the water. Doing the dishes and cooking with that water caused the kitchen to smell the whole time. Also, it was not ideal to shower in water that smelled like eggs, but the smell didn't seem to stay with you when you were done. Overall, minus the water it was a nice place to stay.

Great Place!

We had a family reunion and this place was great for us. We felt at home as soon as we got there. The host was great about communicating with us and letting us know about a few things. I LOVE the big table and the barn door that we could close to create a sense of privacy. Overall I would recommend this to my family and friends

This house was in a great location central to all the activities that we were interested in.

Our host was great! Loved the accommodations. It was just perfect for our family. Adults had space to visit and the kids had their space to play games. The view was wonderful! Loved sitting on the deck in the mornings with my coffee. We enjoyed lots of wild life. The natural kind.

Great Family Getaway

We enjoyed staying at this property. It was very peaceful. The access to the river was great for fishing and kayaking. The lake was close by for boating. We enjoyed playing games and making smores. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone. It was a great place to enjoy some family time.

Perfect size home for our extended family to explore Eureka Springs.

We had a wonderful time enjoying the property, the games inside the home, and gathering on the back porch and watching the geese gather on the lawn next to the river. The trail to the river was a little rough and overgrown, but we made it to the shore. Not too many fish caught on this trip, but gives us a reason to return. Thanks to the property owners for always responding quickly to questions and sharing their home!

Eben & Linda Jones along with Tim & Nan Mika ( Linda and Nan are sisters ) bought this river side house for a family get away. We all live within 30-45 minutes of the house and have always loved coming to this area and Eureka Springs. We are all long time residents of Northwest Arkansas with Linda & Nan moving here in 1966, Tim also in the sixties, and Eben moved for good in 1974 and vacationed as far back as 1956! Eben has relatives in Northwest Arkansas as long ago as 1840!

We are close by but believe in letting the guests dictate any interaction.

We have all stayed in Home Away houses over the past 12 years, have regular rental property, and believe we understand what is needed when someone wants to get away.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This is a perfect place for family get togethers, fishing outings, a place to set up Eureka Springs outings or visits to the dam and local parks.....or just hanging out enjoying the views and countryside. We've got Bald Eagles, too! ( ...and Beavers, Deer, Wild Turkeys, Ducks, Palliated Woodpeckers, too many birds to count, and other wildlife...)

It is a nationally known river for fly fishing and trout fishing so any expert would be at home here. One has to only walk down to the river and start fishing! There are four acres, with this house in the middle, and it goes down into the river.
Even if the family just wanted to go to Eureka or hang out by the fire pit, the fisherman of the family could still have a fishing good time!

There are 4 beds, two Kings, one queen, one full. Along with two couches downstairs that are long and comfortable enough to sleep on and two comfy chairs with ottomans upstairs. So don't be surprised if someone falls asleep watching one of the two 55" TVs ! ( The TV downstairs has an Apple box and the TV upstairs has regular antenna channels @4-7 and a DVD player and movies galore! )

Also, the dinning room table can sit eight people comfortably..
And there's another table upstairs that will sit at least four if not six !

THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

Eureka Springs just a few minutes away, walking to White River ( on our property ) below the dam ( tail water), great fishing, great viewing decks and fire pit, and relaxing viewing wildlife ! Clean & comfortable !
