Commencez vos journées au lac en sirotant une tasse de café chaud sur la grande terrasse surplombant le lac Oconee et sa magnifique toile de fond d’arbres verts. Promenez-vous sur le pont et dans la cour herbeuse pour atteindre le quai privé, où vous pourrez amarrer votre bateau personnel. Si vous n’avez pas de bateau, louez des kayaks à la maison pour une journée sur le lac!

Après vos aventures nautiques, regagnez le chalet doté de la climatisation centrale pour vous aider à vaincre la chaleur de la Géorgie. Installez-vous confortablement dans les canapés ou les fauteuils du salon et allumez la télévision par câble pour trouver le bon spectacle à regarder.

Dumpy House

Great location and beautiful lot but the house is a dump. Lot of bugs inside. House needs major renovations. Upstairs bath has wood and tile rot. Dishwasher not bolted in and falls out. House needs water softner to treat the water which makes the dishes look dirty. No directions to operate TVs. Not worth the $.

My trip was still fantastic but the house not so much.

Two biggest complaints: there was no WiFi and the air conditioning vent in the downstairs bathroom leaked so bad we had to use all the towels and eventually a large pot to keep the floor dry. Communication via guest contact was useless. I emailed the first time at 6pm on Thursday, and it’s Sunday and I’ve still not gotten a response. There are plenty of other things that can be said about this listing both good and bad: the view is amazing. The outdoor seating areas were fantastic. And the hot tub worked great for us. But I would not book this listing again.

cozy older lakeside home

While this home could easily accommodate a family of 10 or 12, we were only two, visiting over a long weekend during an unseasonably warm spell for mid-November. We enjoyed the hot tub after days spent hiking around the parks and lakeside trails. We did not get to experience this home during its high summer season, when kids would no diloubt spend hours diving into the lake off the fork, swinging from the rope swing or playing pool, foosball and ping pong later in the garage into the night. Amply stocked with spices and cooking oil, a gift basket of cookies and chips, and a well accessorized kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and knives, we enjoyed peaceful nights' rest, waking with the morning light and doing puzzles until we were ready for bed. We came to unplug and recharge, and that is what we did. But the two large TVs and decent 5 GHZ wifi are a bonus if keeping up on college football or answering email are your needs.Several of the window sills need to be replaced and we had to go find light bulbs for a couple of bedside lamps. Other than that our stay was wonderful and we hope to go back in the late Spring or early summer to enjoy all the lake has to offer -- boating, fishing, swimming, and hawk watching... We must have seen two dozen hawks in the sky at one point, sitting down by the lake in the wooden swing around 5 pm, watching the sun descend and the golden light turn purple and fade into blackest night.

Nice property but needs major updates

Wedid enjoy the house, very much. it’s a nice quiet lake location and owners were very responsive but house is very misleading. Upon arriving The house was not professionally cleaned. There was hair in bathroom drain, a dead cockroach in middle of bunk room. It was hard to find anything in kitchen because it’s all mixed up in cabinets. Pots were in 4 spots, oven was so filthy we couldn’t use it. Black smoke billowed out. owners were so gracious and offered to gone clean but we had small child and didn’t want fumes around a new infant. The bunk room claims twin sleeper sofa but it was literally falling apart, stuffing ripped out. Listing shows paddle boards but those were not present. It should be stated that game room /toys were in a detached garage. So children couldn’t be solo. There is no wifi, there’s a hotspot to pull off towers but wifi was unbelievably unreliable and Needs to be upgraded. We liked the house and location. All minor things but it def needs upgrading. Photos are very misleading.

There should have been no cleanliness issues upon your arrival but we've passed this feedback onto our team to ensure that it is addressed. - We have ongoing pest control that manages and protects the home from bugs. - It appears as if the oven was on "clean" mode, which would have prodced excess smoke. The oven has been used since and is in perfect working condition. - We have plans to address the sleeper sofa and apologize that this impaced your stay. - The paddle boards and kayaks are not advertised as free for use, they are available to rent. The playroom and the game room are not advertised as being in the house but we're sorry that this caught you off-guard! - We have a hotspot for guest to use while at the house, but we're sorry if the signal was slower during your stay. Connected properly, the hotspot works better than any satellite wifi connection in our area. Thanks for your valuable feedback as we continue to improve for future guests!

House needs some help. Dishes are dirty and left in the dish washer from previous guests. The dishes available are random and unorganized. The pullout mattress is filthy, flat and covered in stains. I did not check other mattresses due to being scared what I would see. The mattresses did seem to be very old though. Furniture is very outdated and impossible to clean. Shower in the basement leaks. Paint is falling off and chipped. There is a wasp infestation living in the ceiling fan on the back porch. Kitchen countertop is completely detached from the wall and unsecured. Garage play area is dirty. The kids didn’t want to play in it because of how dirty everything was. Bird nest is in the children’s play area doll house which poses a health hazard Dock is warped. Kayaks and paddle boards advertised but are actually at an additional cost per day. Gas grill is advised but it is a charcoal grill which would be good to know for additional planning purposes. We made the best of our stay as it was a family gathering, but it was nothing like we anticipated. We would not stay here again.

Will NEVER stay here again! No words!

I definitely do not and would not ever suggest booking this rental! The photos are so misleading. Whoever took them understood the assignment! The house is really small. There is no way to sit at the table and allow people to be able to pass to the kitchen or front door. There is a funny smell that is trying to be covered by air freshener. The upstairs bathroom was moldy. The floors creaked very loudly. The carpet in bunk bed room was nasty. The stairs were difficult to walk up and down and the hand rail was too high. The bathroom downstairs was awkward with a cutout step up for the door. The furniture was in poor condition. Mattress was very very very firm. It was impossible to sleep downstairs with all the creaking from the beds upstairs and the floor sounding like it was fixing to fall through. The hot tub, which was one of the reasons we chose this property, would not heat up above 87 degrees. You could not enjoy sitting or fishing on the dock because there was a little row boat that was full of water and was actually causing the middle of the dock to dip down in the middle. The pool table and other games and doll houses are outside in the garage that only has a standup propane heater and no real seating. The dishes due to not having a water softener system had a white cloudy build up on them. There were no trash bags. In the checking in instructions it said the key was in a lockbox by the front door and what the code was when in actuality it was a keypad door lock, so we had spent 5-10 minutes looking for the lock box. There were several other things but this review is long enough. This was supposed to be a relaxing getaway weekend at the lake, but it ended up being a huge let down and left even more tired than when we arrived. It was definitely not worth the price that we paid.

Photos do not represent the property. Property is older and in worse condition than photos show. There was no pool table or game room in the house although photos showed such. Dock and decks were in poor condition. We had rented the house for a fishing trip and it was extremely difficult to back boats into the driveway due to location.

Straightforward Lake Stay

The Evolve team was very attentive. The space was clean and set up how we needed it to be. It's not the nicest lake house (ongoing projects, could use updating), but it suited our needs perfectly and we enjoyed the proximity to the lake and to Atlanta.

Let's Caulk About It

First, I would like to congratulate the photographer for doing a smashing job! The pictures are the highlight of the listing. Let's talk about the pest control problem. The upstairs bathroom had shoddy caulking around the tub that seemed to be a haven for a bed of ants. Nothing kills a vacation like a pest problem. The tub was infested with ants upon arrival, but we were assured that the owner hired a company to take care of that issue: they did not. The ants came back day after day to bother all those who dared to impede upon their domain: the rental. Downstairs; I awoke one morning to find ants crawling on my shoulder and back - we have video. The hot-tub did not work on the first of our two day vacation. The house manager assured us that the owner would be contacted to remedy the issue because no one should have to deal with these issues. Thirdly, the smoke alarm was chirping upon arrival. After an hour-long exploratory deep-dive, we found out that someone had glued the top of the detector to the body to keep it from falling off: we removed the battery and informed the house manager. Fourth, there are ancillary (additional) fees for early check-in, late check-out, and boat rental ($50 ea.). The rental instructions noted that all of these services were available upon request, but did not mention that fees were associated. We recommended that the VRBO listing should be updated to clearly outline ALL fees associated with this rental. We feel as if ALL fees should be handled (as add-ons) through VRBO. Cash after the sale (rental) are monies often not reported as income to the IRS. The home is quite dated. There is a dank smell throughout. There are several signs of "attempted" renovations that did not pan out. There are several signs of leakage throughout, in fact, the caulking around the shower in the basement leaked so badly that we had to keep a mop handy. This was the most unenjoyable VRBO experience thus far. In our opinion, this property should NOT be on the market. This listing needs a major overhaul.

Perfect for a Family Vacation!

This home has a warm lived-in family feel. We went here instead of exchanging Christmas gifts! It was myself, my husband, my 2 grown children, and their families! (2 teen boys and 2 younger ones 7 & 8) We never left the house except to grocery shop! We played all day, every day! We all loved the garage... playing pool, ping pong, and foosball! We played a lot of board games on the great big wooden table! Also lots of arts n crafts there too! We watched movies in the basement movie room! My son brought his VR and we all enjoyed that also! Note: the wifi was a little sketchy and we had to use our hot spots. We all enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings & the kids did some fishing off the dock! We did fireworks on New Year's Eve in the firepit in the yard! My daughter and I enjoyed cooking and baking in the kitchen that has EVERYTHING!!! I needed a mixer (they had the mixer paddles but the machine part was missing) and called the host and she was gracious enough to bring me her personal one! The bedrooms were comfy too! Very tall beds, a little hard for myself (I'm 58) to get into but comfy once in! lol We all had so much fun!!! The teen boys never even wanted to play their normal video games! I highly recommend this lovely home for any family!

BEST TIME EVER WITH SUPER TREATS

I / WE ENJOYED OURSELVES TO THE FULLEST!!! THIS IS MY 2ND TIME RENTING THIS HOME AND IT WAS BETTER THE 2ND TIME AROUND. WE COUGHT FISH AND FRIED IT UP CRISPY STYLE AND NIBBLED ON THEM (AS A SNACK) ALL DAY LONG. THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT TOO. WE SAT AROUND THE FIRE PIT @ NIGHT AND ROASTED MARSH MELLOWS, TALKED & PLAYED GAMES (THINK IN-SYNC) AND LAUGHED SO HARD AS IF WE WERE KIDS AGAIN. WE GRILLED, HAD AN AMAZING TIME IN THE GAME ROOM, PLAYED CARDS AND WATCH THE BOATS GO BY ON THE DECK (FYI-2 DECKS). IT WAS A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION AND WE COULDN'T HAVE PICKED A BETTER PLACE THAN THIS COTTAGE. OH & THE JACUZZI (INSIDE & OUTDOOR) WAS MASSAGE TREAT!!!! THANKS. PS- EVERYONE IS READY TO RENT THE COTTAGE OUT AGAIN !!!!

Problematic

We had a terrible water leak in the basement area. This interupted taking showers and cooking because the water had to be cut off. This made us late for family functions. I am requesting a partial refund for this interruption.

Fun Time at Great Home

We had a great time at this lovely lake house. It had everything we needed and the girls enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub so much! Just sitting outside was nice and the game room gave them so much to do! They were never bored. Thank you so very much to Juanita and John were absolutely spot on if we needed anything at all and so helpful. Everything was perfect!

Weekend with friends at the lake!

Really enjoyed our stay here! Communication with primary contact was Great! Location on the lake with Dock access was ideal for our plans. Would come back to stay at this house for the next lake weekend for sure in the future.

Just right for a small family gathering

The home was spectacular!!! It was all that we asked for and more. The game room was a bonus! The firepit was great to roast smores and tell wonderful stories. We caught a few fish on the pier too! We had a scavenger hunt around the house and played several games. We had movie night in the basement and relaxed in the jacuzzi! It was wonderful- you have a lovely home!!! Blessings
